I don't know any of the particulars here, but I can tell you that the reason I am in Phoenix is because my parents threw me the hell out of Texas in '85 because I had some demons I couldn't - and didn't want to - beat in my current environment. At the time I hated them bitterly for it, but the change of location and the emotional slap-in-the-face that comes from having your family turn their back on you turned my crap around. Upon hindsight, it's the best thing they could have done for me and I have no doubt that had they not acted, I'd be dead or in prison by now. I know it was agonizing for them, but it paid off in my case.
Parenting is hard work, and sometimes you have to play the bad guy to help make good things happen.
Good morning.
Kay prayers for peace for you and for you daughter. I hope she sees the light.
Della and Dave be proud that had the strength to overcome.
I got a sister still battling.
Haven't meet you yet crazy but welcome back.
And off I go to shop for a baby shower.

Oh dear, I forgot to tell you my specialty isn't cupcakes...I'm actually the pie baker for all holidays and lemon is the house specialty AND my personal favorite. How in the world am I going to ship a 8" lemon meringue pie to Michigan???
wqelll...the answer is quite simple Julie....Hey REOville! Didn't have time to do much more than a few quick run through Likes this morning. Now I'm on my lunch hr. Day 2 of quitting is so far going well, no half processed or crazy files, and got my 3 full files and 3 TDs done for the morning so I'm on track to meet my quota for the day.
Jen, how's my quit buddy doing today? Here's hoping it gets easier every day for both of us!
Kay, I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter's situation. It sounds like your grand daughter has over come a lot of crap in dealing with her parents, and I agree with you and the others here, your daughter isn't going to get past this until the people she counts on quit enabling her. It's sad that her husband has his eyes and mind closed to that, has he ever attended any kind of counseling for people whose loved ones are addicted? Maybe that would open his eyes to what he is doing.
Jen and Dave/George, you both rock, you turned your life around and came out all the better! We are not only the results of the good things that happen, we are the results of all the things that happens to us. Your strength and perseverance is amazing and I'm proud to call you both friend. Hope all have a good Monday!
jeni...her husband is so scared of her he won't do anything. He even gave up all his relatives and friends. But Jen and George and all those that have overcome so many terrible addictions are to be highly commended.
We are not only the results of the good things that happen, we are the results of all the things that happens to us.
thank you moondragon, for sharing...it really does help to know one isn't alone in this hell, so now I'm glad i shared my situation.Boy, this takes me back. We were in denial about our younger daughter for several years, but finally kicked her out of the house when we found needles in her room. But we kept her daughter who was only 3 at that time. Al-anon provided a lot of support for us in those dark days. We did end up putting our daughter in a residential treatment facility for 6 months. She hated me for awhile, but is now grateful and clean. We let our granddaughter move back with her mom last fall. Kudos to those of you who have fought the battle and come out on the winning side, prayers for those of you with family or friends where the journey back is still in progress, or perhaps not started yet.
Kay, we got our first mess of turnip greens out of the garden this morning and they are simmering on the stove. I'll save you a bowl, if you save me a slice. My sis is coming over in a while, she says we're going on a "short road trip",lol...probably to the restaurant we went to the last time on the shore of lake Huron, where they have the most awesome lemon meringue we've ever had except for our Mom's...with the mernigue on top it's about eight inches high!
Everyone have a great day!

WoooHoooo! Happy mailman stalking to you!Good morning...
Anxiously awaiting my VVRG. My batteries just arrived from RTD.(ordered on Friday) Now, how long for a email on shipment from REO? (ordered on Friday)

I was just glad I happened to be out there with my Mom. She refuses to wear her glasses, and most likely wouldn't have seen it. It was hiding, coiled up underneath a big squash plant.OUCH !!! be careful Jen
He's about 6 years old. Nice!What a cutie ..... I know that noseJudging by the brown-ness I would say between 5-7 years old ???

I posted it on my FB page and now my Pops is trying to get me to clean it and bring it home next weekend for some Rattlesnake Cilantro Soup. I can't decide if he is serious or not. I know we ate it as kids, so I guess he's serious. That's not what I picture when I hear "little garden snake" !!! Sometimes I'm glad I live in town.![]()
