I stopped using my reo that I just got a week ago or so because I don't have an ohm reader yet and my provari was telling me my coils were coming out to under 1 ohm when I knew that had to be way off. I was right!

I had to drive my daughter to another town for a trapping course she had signed up for and there was a vape shop in that town, Kokomo Indiana, Pure Vapors. So I had to check them out while I was in town. While there I told them about my coil/ohm problem and they offered to check it out. I had one of the coils in my reo that read 1.3 on my provari and when they checked in on their ohm reader it clocked in at 3.1 ohms! I knew it! I will not use my provari for measuring coils again. I am confused as to why the provari wasn't reading it correctly because it reads my eBaron coils perfectly. This particular coil I purposely built with a gazillion wraps knowing that it would have to measure way over 2.0 ohms and was stupefied when it didn't. It must be something wonky between the provari and the RM2.

Anyway- I'm so happy to know I'm not nuts or doing my coils wrong. I drove 213 miles round trip, learned I was right, met some awesome people at a great vape shop, bought my first Trippy Tip and took home some Smurf ..... and walked out of there vaping my reo rocking my 3.1 ohm coil too! Oh and my daughter is now certified for trapping! :2cool:

I've had a similar experience with my provari as well. For some odd reason I can't wrap a micro coil with 30 or 32 gauge wire. Seems the coils once compressed double over. So when measuring on the provari it reads one way and then on my ohm meter another way. Which is really confusing. But, I err on the ohm meter (I have two) so I double check between those. :D

So I mainly use 26 or 28 now. Much easier for me to work with.

Good morning, Reo friends! I actually had a pretty decent weekend. Even though I had a ton of stuff I should have done, I just didn't! I was tired after a really tough week and just didn't feel like doing much. I did get the chainsaw out and cut up the pecan branches that fell, including the one across my roof, and dragged them out to the front to be picked up by the city. Other that that, not much else happened. I guess I'm ready for another busy week. I hope this fine Monday finds everyone well and ready to tackle the world! :)
