I now have this vision of Rob making some house calls.
Assuming coils were checked in advance with an ohm-meter, would anyone be hesitant to use the ReoMizer on a non-VV device like the Grand?
The good news is...I don't see the same short circuit risk as with the DID, since the Phoenix stye rba eliminates the potential of a "hot" stainless wick grounding itself to the unit itself.

Met up with JCOkie in Sapulpa (Tulsa suburb) last weekend, and she showed us how to do an easy-peasey cotton side wick on the chalice and a7; the coil lies on the side of the mod like the original infinity and bulli smoker, with a spare long leg of the wick going over the feed hole. Hell of a lot easier than putting it in the middle. If this setup lasts anywhere near a week, I think I'll be a believer. She's also got a decade on me when it comes to the age and eyes department.
Are there any pictures of that setup anywhere? Sounds intriguing.
Eh, no. Probably wouldn't hurt to get out a good camera when I try to do it myself. Basically, double over two loops of cotton (4 total) and wrap some kanthal around the cotton using a big honkin' needle. Place it on the side of the chalice so the ends of the wire go straight into the holes on the posts. Take up the excess wire and position the wick, snug down the screws and clip the excess.

I try not to play favorites even though I am sure it may look that way .
well is sort of did seem that way when everybody and his brother had a VVG before sale day but me but I think it's just because you have a good heart, the porky's give you away

Did you replace coil and wick or screw it on and fire it out of the box? How was your setup?
