well.. I got 2 of the screws out but the other 2 won't budge and I'm afraid I'll strip them. I have a friend who works on computers.. I'm going to take it to him, he has better screw drivers and is used to working with this kind of thing. For now I'm just going to use it "as is" and take care not to be heavy handed with the fire button.

Understand your reticence.

Just took mine apart and that ribbon was definitely under the fire button even though it didn't feel that way. Took all of 5 minutes to do the tuck with a toothpick & put it back together. Wish I had some 2 sided tape handy to ensure it does not work its way back out but alas. At least I have a little peace of mind for now until I can find some.

Thanks for sharing, will open mine up first thing tomorrow morning. God willing, will maybe take pics and upload them here for other forumers as well.

Has there been any confirmation of the ribbon actually failing? My button also feels fantastic and I realize that doesn't mean the ribbon is okay as Tpat591 demonstrated. I remember vaguely (perhaps incorrectly) that when the Hana V200 screen ribbons were going the button was squishy and it was apparent something was wrong.

Is there anything on the screws that would indicate to a vendor that the mod was opened? As of now, I am going to let it ride because I don't feel comfortable doing this no matter how simple it might be - sounds silly or even stupid but that is just the way I am.

I just received this...

Hey Donna. I've heard about this a couple times now and have sent a
question into Joyetech looking for a response I can post.

I wouldn't go in there and mess with anything unless you're super
comfortable doing it. You would also probably be voiding your warranty.

Just use it as is, and let me see what they say. Or use it to the point
is fails (no guarantee it will) and you'll probably be covered under the
warranty especially if they acknowledge it's a known issue.

I'm going to wait. I'm not super comfortable doing this but will if it needs to be done. Until I hear something more official I'm going to use it as is. I don't know why he's asking Joyetech instead of evolv. I told him I was using the dna 200 version.

Thanks for reaching out and obtaining that response. That certainly reinforces my plan to let it go for now.

I also put in a ticket to evolv. As I said, I received mine today from vapenw.com. Out of the box it has a tiny chip in the paint. I'm not too happy about that. I'm thinking of contacting vapenw and requesting a replacement.

edit... I contacted vapenw.com and told them my device has a chip in the paint. It's not a big deal but I keep looking at it. I haven't even used it yet!! The batts came with a charge of 3.6v on them. My charger only has 2 bays so it'll take me a while to be able to even use it lol

oh.. and the batts I received are the yellow LG HE4s

That would bother me to no end. It's one thing if you did it. It's another that it came that way fresh out of the box. I would definitely be asking for a replacement.
