Enjoy your present prawdaeh and nothing wrong with looking forward to it sometimes you see something or hold something and it just clicks and to get it as a present is icing on the cake, wish you many happy vapes with it.

I was lurking here looking for a way to not have to crack open my mod. I have a nice jwrap on it and thought I would ruin it and the mod

I ordered another set of batts but I think I'll hold off and use them for something else. This thing charges super fast! The batts were at 75%, I plugged in the cord I use to charge my phone and it was at 100% in an hour or so.
On the subject of Ribbon-gate... I contacted evolv, just to see if the ribbon being under the firing pin would really be an issue. I received this response.

Hi Donna
This issue will eventually cause the screen to fail permanently. Because this is a known build issue we suggest you return it to your vendor or the maker for repair.
Thank You,
Steve

So apparently this is an issue and it's a "known build issue". I contacted vapenw, about this AND the chipped paint. I know it's an easy fix and I'll probably end up doing it but I'm curious to see what vapenw advises me to do. If they advise me to contact Wismec then I'll see what they suggest. Someone should be held responsible for selling us a product with a build issue that will cause an expensive device to fail.

I received this today in response to my enquiry regarding the fire button and display ribbon.
Dear friend,
the problem you mentioned exists in our early products.
It will not occur on the nowadays and later launched products.
Pls. use with safety.

You can look to see when it was programmed - EScribe, General tab, Get Information button near the top left of the tab. Unfortunately, without them saying a specific date that they corrected the ribbon cables, it still doesn't do much good. I bought mine from VapeNW as well, right before the code expired, and mine it's chip was programmed 10/21. While the button doesn't feel squishy, I'm sure it still has the cable issue... I'll have to get in there and take a look when I have time.Thank you for reaching out to receive this response. Does anyone know how to identify an "early product" as compared to the "later launched products" ?
I ordered mine about a week ago (11/30 I believe) on a restock from VapeNW's Black Friday sale (someone had mentioned that they sold out some point on Friday or Saturday and restocked). I would assume that is a newer product but not knowing if it really is or not is something that is bothering me especially considering I am not going to open it up to find out. My luck I would also poke a hole through the ribbon.
I would take that to mean the day or the day before they sent the email. Might look at Evolv site and see when first posted there and figure a week from that point to get it corrected on the manufacturing lines.Thank you for reaching out to receive this response. Probably a form letter!Hmmm..mine was configured back in early November so I figure it's one of the early products. :/ I'll probably get the same response
mine was from the black friday sale over at vapenw. i can assure you my ribbon cable was not tucked properly. in escribe my board was programmed oct 23 2015. but that's only a rough estimate on when the device was actually assembled. i'd venture to guess the fixed units, if actually fixed at all, are JUST becoming available.I'm really against opening up the mod as I've probably said too many times, but if there is anyone brave enough here that bought from VapeNW or Eciggity during the Black Friday sale that would be willing to open the mod and look that would be greatly appreciatedI'll probably make a similar post in Evolv's forum. Maybe just wishful thinking.
I do think the squishy button thing is interesting because that is a symptom that I believe occurred with the Hana V200s that had a fire button clipping the screen ribbon as well. On the other hand, it sounds like people with buttons that seemed perfectly okay also had their button pushing on the ribbon. I'll keep using my Reuleaux with my fingers crossed that #1 Wismec/Joytech was being honest about the ribbon issue being fixed in later units and #2 that my unit is indeed a later unit (going to check in Escribe shortly - thanks Landman for the tip) - just wish Wismec gave us a date to operationalize what a later unit is.
Edit: donnah - that is a (possibly) troubling comment by the VapeNW rep. Instead of referring you to their warranty/return policy almost lazily (or sarcastically), they could have just said something like "no, sorry not until something actually happens we can't replace it."
I got the same BS response. I just got done taking it apart and the button was indeed making contact on a small portion of the ribbon. My fire button still clicked. After doing the fix, the fire button seems to be a little more clicky. My guess is that Wismec knows this will cause a problem. Before the warranty expires? Probably not. Fix is fairly simple enough. If I can do it, anyone can. Though I was so tense doing the procedure myself. If I had broke wind it would have been a whistle.I received a reply from wismec...
Dear friend,
the problem you mentioned may occur in our early production. The nowadays and future products have no such problem.
May I ask weather you have contacted your seller?
Are they willing to do the replacement for you?
Best regards,

Vapenw told me to review their warranty/return policy to see if my product qualifies. Since my rulow is working fine it doesn't qualify. I can't see them replacing something that "might" have a problem.
Eciggity black Friday sale is when I picked up mine. I was totally against taking my mod apart as well. They will not be diodes, you could never balance the battery, they will just be wire links they need to take the voltages from the main battery connection pads because they only wire the centre 2 taps (1 & 2) to the battery cradle.Anyone else notice Wismec is using diodes on pins 1 and 4 on the balance tap?
