Received a SS-M Roller yesterday and promptly tried to attach my AGA-T into the recessed brass connector. Not a good idea! Threads on the AGA bound as I tried to cinch it down. Sorry if this has already been covered in previous posts, but what is the secret to getting this dog to set? Noalox? Machine shop? Pi??ed off, so yesterday I ordered an AC9. Hopefully that screws into the connector. Would a SS recessed be a better solution?
Roller is a COOL little mod! In short 18350 mode I can't believe how tiny it is. Hope the AC9 works!

Did you buy it new? The new ones come with connectors that fit all Gennies, my AGA T screws all the way down with the recessed brass connector.

The AGA started to screw in, got tight part way in, then locked into brass connector tightly. Unscrewed AGA and the connector came out with it. I had to use a channel-lock pliers to unseat the connector (rolled over the thin lip doing so) from the AGA. Brand new Roller, fresh out the box. That AGA has been on and off my ProVari many, many times but the ProVari has a stainless connector (as does the AGA). Do any of you have both the SS and brass 510 connectors that you alternately put on your Rollers? Thought I would ask before I order needless parts from Atmizoo.
So far, I love this Roller! Just wish the AGA would have screwed all the way in instead of half way in. Also kicking myself for over torquing it into the new brass connector. I did use a 510-510 extension to stoke up the AGA, but still haven't been able to flush mount it to my Roller.
Thanks for your replies

Brand new; first threads that met the brass were the AGA's. I have reinstalled the recessed brass connector and everything except the AGA is working fine. Frustration, must be some bad threading on the atty.

There might be a burr in your connector.
Try twisting your atty into the connection, from both sides. Will it go further in on one side than it does the other?
If so, then play with it some. Pull the atty as you twist it in, and push the atty as you twist it out. This will groove the soft brass to your threads, and knock out burrs. Hope this helps. I had to do this with a 510 connection on a different mod, (thank goodness these connections are removable!!), and it's been a champ ever since.

Thanks Uma, took the connector out and flipped it over to insert atty. Doesn't want to screw into the connector from the bottom at all. It will screw in from the top approx. 1/2 - 3/4 but not from the bottom side of the connector. My IGO-L and all my cartos seem OK, but the AGA-T threads don't like this brass connection. When I get back home tomorrow I will replace my dinged-up recessed with the standard to see if it makes a difference. The thin lip of the recessed connector got bent with the channel-lock pliers, going to order some extras from Team Zoo next week, including a SS recessed.

Sounds like a plan. :)
Come to think of it, the 510 connector I had my troubles with, wouldn't let me insert at all. It was like there wasn't a hole at all. When the posters suggested flipping the connector over, to see if it would go in, it did! That's when they knew it was a burr and the burr sure enough knocked loose. They then had me do the twist pull/push until my genny fit perfectly. (I used an old SS carto to push/pull twist). They said that 510 connections are the same on both sides, that if it works on one side but not the other, or if only goes in part way, there's a burr. Do you have an old SSS carto or atty hanging around? Pull/Twist when inserting, and push/twist when removing.

The SS connector will be hard on your atty's threads. Attys are harder for most of us to replace. I would seriously contemplate working the soft Brass Connection until it's perfect. Just sayin...

Still, we should get that looked into. If you can see visible damage on the liquid sealing o-ring, we should send you a new one.

By the way, could you perhaps measure the o-ring's thickness and the total height of the connector and report your findings?

Also, the recessed connectors press a bit harder on the o-ring when fully screwed in, so if you are using the classic one, switching to the recessed might help!

The O-Ring: exactly 1/16 of an inch so about 1.5875mm?

Recessed Stainless Steel 510 connector: exactly 7/64 of an inch so about 2.77813mm

I finally got my upgraded switch installed (I know I have had it for months). Having pinged 3 out of my 4 little ball bearings around my kitchen and dining room, is there not an easier way to build this switch? I dread having to dismantle the switch for cleaning. Having not used my roller for several months I had forgotten now lovely it feels in the hand. Delightful to hold.

Overall, I take mine apart inside a gallon sized Ziplock bag. That way the pinging balls don't get away from me. (I learned this trick from others, probably Todd).

The plastic bag tip saved me this weekend. I never would have found that tiny ball bearing had it gotten loose.

Thanks for the tips folks.

Got my new AC9 this weekend and it had problems screwing onto some of my mods all the way. The AC9 tightened up before it would screw fully into the mod. I've got several mods and several genesis attys and have never had this kind of problem with any other combination.

My experience in short is that the AC9 fits some mods fine and not so fine on other mods. My roller is not here yet...

My AC9 is on the way, ETA 03/04, does anyone have a Roller SS-M with a AC9 on top. Curious about how the finishes match up!
