Seems to be all the rage in some quarters now, doing 2/3 wraps of 28awg Kanthal...

Strikes me as a "because you can" thing, rather than something that makes good logical sense... Must drain the batteries at an almost alarming rate, but then I guess that would be the appeal of the ShockWave, to allow this sort of extreme vaping and still maintain a reasonable period between battery changes...

Not something I would do though... generally preferring to build my coils at around 1.2 to 1.6 ohms, which is still low resistance, just not quite so brutal, lolol... :D

Switch is rated at 10 amps. David is not going to use a flimsy wire that won't handle 10 amps, after this long of a development and build time...wow.

This is hurting my brain, so could you tell me how you get that high using a mechanical mod with no boost? Every day I try to learn something. Thanks!

It's is not as extreme as you might think. I run my coils around .9 ohms as low as .8 ohms. Remember the time where 1.5 ohms LR atomizer were considered extreme. Well so long as your setup is good (meaning your wick is good and can provide good juice/power ratio) it will not be harsh providing you have no hotspots. .8-.9 ohms lets me take a 2 sec - 4 sec drag on average and provide a satisfying vape a 6-10 sec drag would provide. I like the 26650 mods just because of the higher amp rating of the batteries. So its really not the shockwave that provides these 10 amp rating as much as the batteries. I purchased the shockwave a while back because they were one of the few that used 26650s.

With my wait on the shockwave, I use a telescopic 26XXX mod and know very well its much much safer to run low ohm coils on them. Also I suggest MNKE 26650 batteries for the shockwave ;)

I'm an extreme vaper, too. But I prefer to go in the opposite direction. I'm all about high resistance vaping. My next project is building a 20 ohm coil - 0.19 amps of long lasting battery goodness! The vapor and throat hit are practically non existent, but the battery life I get sure impresses all of my Internet friends!

Lately, I've just been taking a gallon of 50mg nicotine in VG, putting a pan on my stove at high heat, and pouring the juice on the pan while inhaling it through two straws I've stuck in both nostrils.

Freebasing nicotine...you mix that up with some baking soda and bake it and you'd have some rocks to put in a pipe and smoke....no wait, that would be a step backwards...

On a serious note, there was a person on ECF that would vape 48mg juice that was meant to be diluted with a "doubler", straight up. Now that is scary.

That makes me feel better vaping 50ml a week of 36 mg. Beside my constant vaping (may have to step down to 18 at night, no wonder I can't sleep) I'm a coil making virgin, probably a good thing.

Yeah, please try weaning down, your heart will thank you. Even dropping 6mg a month or however small an increment you can buy to make it easier for you.

I really don't get it. I started with 24mg/ml liquid and now I'm on 20. I reduce my mg level by 2 each time I order liquid. When I come to 12 or sth I will probably leave it there or further decrease by 1mg. With the current liquid I spend about 1,5ml per day. I can't understand how people manage to spend 5, 10 or more ml in a single day

I vape alot I guess, I'm going through 20-25ml weekly with standard atomizers (excepting 2 .357s from Hanna which blow through liquid) in a 12 atty/flavor rotation @ an average of almost 8mg. I guess that's a lot but I don't vape anything over 18mg and that's just because I'm burning through the stash I have. When I finish I plan to switch to 6mg exclusively and maybe less later. Any way you look at it, it's better than the stankies, which I have not touched since day one of vaping.

Agree on the stinkies. I'm using a Penelope which burns through the liquid like a blowtorch and still I can't seem to spend more than 2ml a day.
