This is a great resource for us relatively new NET fans to discover vapes people feel passionate about and go explore some of these amazing e-liquids. But I have a question:
Why is there a category for "Best Synthetic/non-NET tobacco"???
Seems kinda like having a category for "Best old wannabe who tells great stories at the local bar" in a "Best running back in NFL history" poll. Just seems irrelevant.
Not trying to stir anything up, just don't understand the logic.
P.S. Barry Sanders is the best running back in NFL history.
can we just stay on topic and take the nonsense elsewhere. REALLY
Thats how I figured out where to put MOV's Pendragon and Apache. I know I like 'em but did not know where to put themIn the meantime I'll wait for some of the old dogs to put up their votes and one of my faves might fall in place.
OK, I am going to be the bad guy (gal) and this will not make me very popular, but in respect for Scarf-Ace, who originated these awards, she stated in her definition of a NET (the link to her original thread is in the first post in this thread, where I reference to check it for the definition of a NET)
"It does not mean liquids that get most of their tobacco flavor from tobacco absolute, tobacco extract, or synthetic tobacco flavoring." (highlights mine)
So, here is where I am going to get bashed, hated, slammed and just plain made the bad guy (or gal in this case) but my flame suit is on. Nicoticket juices are based on tobacco absolute, which Scarfy specifically disqualifies. So sorry folks, I should have done more research early on and I guess i should have stated it specifically in my first post. If I can still edit it, I will. But in the interest of true NETs, which is what these awards are for, tobacco absolute juice will not be counted in the final results.
Sorry...
It would also be helpful for an experienced NET vaper to compile a not-so-exhaustive list of examples for each category (Varietals, English/Latakia Blend, Turkish/Oriental). I know what I like (so far) but I couldn't tell you if it falls into a straight pipe, cigar, or another category. So I'm left to go by a vendor's (sometimes obscure) description rather than my taste buds for categorization. In the meantime I'll wait for some of the old dogs to put up their votes and one of my faves might fall in place.
Thank you clnire for volunteering to run this vote, your efforts are MUCH appreciated!
I don't get why Nicoticket would be considered a NET. Are they extracting tobacco?
Like Like LIKE LIKE disqualifying seems only fair at this point.Clnire carried over my rules from last year so I'd like to give my opinions on some issues that have been brought up. This is just the stance I would have explained last year if this came up, but I defer and support all decisions Clnire makes as this year's host. I won't reply to, defend, or explain further my comments here to avoid going off-topic further.
What exactly is a NET is debatable. I made rule #5 (refer to first post in this thread) because this isn't the place to debate it. I wanted people to be allowed to use their best judgment with votes and not have to explain them. My views for what it's worth (no more or less than anyone else's) :
1. Do I think Nicoticket tobaccos are NETs? Absolutely, even the Natural Tobacco thread lists them as a NET vendor.
2. Can someone who's only vaped one vendor's NETs vote here? Definitely.
3. I'm surprised a NET vendor found it appropriate to vote for their product here. I wouldn't count their ballot.
4. I'm disappointed that a NET vendor would use marketing through mass email to get votes. I would honestly consider disqualifying them from placing in the results. I understand there's probably good arguments why disqualification would be unfair.
