Ladies and Gentlemen!

The Vapeescape contest!

I will be publishing my website in a few weeks and I need a banner and a logo. Your challenge is to come up with one or both. BUT the name must be incorporated into the logo. The website will be www.vapeescape.com and Vapeescape will be the brand name as well. The winner of the contest will be announced a week from today on thursday April 9th.

Good luck!

Winner of Logo

Winner of Banner

!!BONUS!!

Whoever can come up with the best catch phrase or slogan for the site name will get to choose any product(s) from the e-cig store of their choice worth a value of $ 10

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm sorry that the prize values aren't that high :( but I promise that the winners of this contest will get TREMENDOUS discounts off of products from my website when it opens. You will not be forgotten.

  • Prizes will be added together if someone wins in two or all categories
  • I will cover all of the shipping charges which exceed the prize values
    as well
Tips and Clues:

  • The website will have a black background
  • I will be selling e-liquids, parts and accesories, and the DSE-103 model (all black, all white, and white batt. with yellow-orange cart) with the option of a blue, green, or orange LED.

  • Colors used in the template dont matter. Just the background color and style of the template.

Good Luck!

I believe it would be 767 x 208 px. Sorry I should have added that.

I assume that's for the banner, what about the logo?

And when you say that "the name must be incorporated into the logo", do you mean that somewhere in the logo it should physically say "vape Escape" or that the logo should somehow represent the name of the store (as in symbolically)?

Also, will this logo be going on any e-cigs or be used in any other kind of application where it would be scaled to a small size? I only ask because if it will be, I want to make sure that I design something which remains identifiable and retains it's visual clarity when minimized to a smaller resolution.

The logo can be ballpark 325 x 154px. Anything around those numbers would be just dandy. I'm sure it can be resized if needed in the future. The name should be physically with the logo and they should both go hand in hand. In all honesty, you guys are the creators and whatever you feel looks nice put it up and if you feel that your work justifies the name then that's cool too. Have fun with it. Channel "the artist within" hehe :D

The smallest I can see the logo getting is on a business card for the website. Also, look at the website template and look at the logo on the top left corner. That actually may be the smallest. Not too sure if I'll be putting it on a PV but I like your thinking. Keep up the good work!

Here is my first set of entries - 2 logo variations and 4 banner variations

All slogans can either 1. start with "Vape Escape - " 2. end with the text "with Vape Escape", or 3. be left as is.
Example (If slogan was "have fun"):
1."Vape Escape - Have fun"
2. "Have Fun with Vape Escape"
3. "Have Fun"

Slogans:

"Escape From Smoking"
"Escape From Cigarettes"

"Because There's No Need For a Fire Escape"
"Because There's No Need For a Fire Escape If You Vape"
"Because There's No Need For a Fire Escape When You Vape"

Logos:

Banners:
Please be sure to click on each banner to see it full-sized, as vBulletin minimizes images over a certain size, and this greatly reduces the clarity and percieved quality of the image. Also note, since these are all variations of one banner, you can mix and match different aspects of each variation to your liking.

More coming soon, including animated ones...

Haha the slogans crack me up. Nice work I like different elements from all four. I like the name without the reflection. The darker, more defined letters from the third one and the smoke from the last one. Cool concept! Remember that the website background is black and that the color scheme will be as in the layout. Work around some colors to see how it would flow. Nice job!

Thanks for the compliments. :)
I purposely didn't use any color with this one though. I wanted it to look sleek and sexy, so I wanted it to be black and white, simple, smooth and have a reflection. I'm planning on using color in my next ones, but if you specifically want to see color in this one I'll play around some more. Also, do you want a line for the slogan or no space for the slogan?

Swamptiger: A tip for your next logo - logos usually don't have words, they're generally just an emblem/symbol. In the rare times that they do have words, its never anything more then the name of the company. And with the slogan and web address in your first one it's more like just a square banner. If you're still in college you should take an advertising design course, I think you would really enjoy it and have a lot of fun. And you would learn this kind of stuff in it too.

um..thanks for the info and I've been out of college for 15 years....lol. When I was i college, the internet was going through birthing pains.:D

Regarding the "rules" of what stuff is supposed to look like, I have always went with my own style. I just do what I think looks good and try to make it stand out from other designs. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. :)

Thanks

Many logos have words. I would not say that is rare in the least. Every "brand" written in a certain way-- Kellogg's, southwest, marlboro, etc. . . those are all trademarked logos in addition to being the brand names.
