Only one way out of that jam .. gotta buy her one! "But honey, I thought it'd be romantic if we had matching Vmod XL's."

hey guys know where i can get higher mah 4.8 nimh battery ..like 1000 mah o something? the ones on madvapes only 600mah

As far as I know they don't exist. These are actually 4 little batts tapped together pretending to be 1 battery.

So if you go this route (thinking about it myself) you need to buy several - probably at least 3 maybe 4 and either 2 chargers or a dual bay charger like they now have at Super T (first dual bay 4.8 charger I've heard of).

Also, on the other 4.8 chargers the light never turns green! You have to time 'em to know when ready .. takes about 6 hrs to charge.

Don't know anything about this new dual bay charger that Super T has .. hopefully it is smart enough to tell you when the batts are done ... but, who knows?

These Hybrid Atty's .. is it recommended to de-wick 'em?

I usually de-wick (and often de-bridge) everything but these almost look like a Genisis style atty.

AMG Hybrid Bottom Feeder (2-pack)

There's no bridge, and the only wick is the horizontal wick the coil is wound on. The wick is then folded into the SS mesh that's wrapped around the cup and serves as a small reservoir. The BF Hybrids have the slits at the bottom of the body for feeding on the small Vmod or the XL, the Regular Hybrid 510 ones do not and only work on the XL and non-bottom fed gear. On neither is de-wicking a good idea.

so the vmod should work with the reg boge and mega carts right?

EDIT:

Found it.....

As long as it has the side hole in the connector it can take in juice. It works similar to a GG UFS in that respect.

Looking forward to this device. Looks like the leaking issues in the body that were present on the little vmod has been addressed.

VanZilla, I've been attempting to use the 4.8v batt on my XL, but my thumb is now disfigured. As AG said, it really would be helpful for those that want to use those batts to get spacers (which I have now ordered).

Is that definitive that the 4.8v batts take 6 hours to charge? I've never read a concrete answer to the "how long do they take to charge" question. So thanks!

And welcome and congrats new XLians.

small correction --- The Universal Hybrid atty's (ones with the gold band and no slits) work with any 510 mod, feeder or not.
(they were not designed to feed on the Vmod)

I happen to prefer the BF Hybrid Atty and use it on my Vmod & some other BF's. I found the Universal Hybrid to have a bit tighter draw. Hmm--wondering if I still have one I can try on the VmodXL.

I can't find a definitive answer either! Just going by comments of users, 6-8 hrs seems about average. A number of folks say they just put 'em on charge when they go to bed and take 'em off when they get up. I don't know how comfortable I am with that but haven't heard of anyone having a problem.

Someone else commented that they used a kitchen timer, which seems like a good idea in the beginning at least - what I'll probably do is be uber (great word, 'eh) careful in the beginning, use a timer and all ... and once I start to feel confident with these puppies then I'll probably just go to the 'put them on charge when I go to bed' method. Maybe.

These are not protected batteries so some caution is probably best!

Yeah, I almost did the same. I had one loaded in the shopping cart one click away from ordering and decided my finances wouldn't like it too good.........
