I will not use a spacer. This has come up in other threads, and so far what's missing here is that it's not just that the atty will keep firing, but what could happen if the batt detonates (or some such). I'm certain Vapage will never endorse using a spacer on the batt.
Better safe than sorry.
As in other threads, i take the side of, if it's a matter of a few dollars more for the right batt, why risk it?
I find the AW IMR fires pretty easily.

I have some flat top 2600 Tenergy's that work too, they are longer so the firing pin does touch; they do compress the spring more and last a good long time, but the IMR's from AW give a better performance for the LR's i use, and they last longer than i expected; like at least all day.

BUT, I am using the batts from Vapage!!, the button does not always make contact without pushing HARD, so enter the spacer!

What do you think of the 5v batt Kat? what atty do you use it with?

I really like the 5v batt. I have a couple of them for the XL and for another tube mod (The Gold Rush). The tube mod does not need a spacer, but now I'm a bit concerned using it in the XL. I think I shall take AG's sage-as-always advice and glue it on. I like 3.0Ω attys with it. I also loved my 3.5Ω io6... right up to the point that I destroyed it by trying to pull it out of the ill-fitting drip tip. The gorgeous silhouettes that IKV offers are quite a straight-jacket on the poor little io6. Another "warning".

So I know everybody loves IKV, but does anyone use the 306's madvapes sells?

I do, and I also use MAP 306s w/ clear drip tips. I cannot see the juice in the squeeze tho. YEMBY (your eyes may be younger)

io6 drip tip with "mod" assembly using brown original cover --- whatever 510 size I could make fit. For me the first one that did was one of those soft rubbery ones I had picked up somewhere. Good Profits has tips for $1 that they say "may be loose on some atty's" -- so they would probably work.

Flux helps for soldering. Can't wait to buy this stuff! Maybe tonight, not sure.... Since I'm buying batteries and other stuff from MV anyways, I'm definitely buying at least two of the 306 LR atty's the the i06's as well. Whoever said they're happy with atty's lasting for 3 weeks I'm totally with you.

I used to clean my ego atty daily. Would be 'very' cool if I didn't have to do that. Can't wait to actually contribute something. Thanks for the help so far! Really appreciate it over here! My poor lungs need a break from analogs....

Need to be careful/fast soldering, you don't want to heat the battery end too much. And solder in itself is not considered a good conductor. If you use a dab of hot glue at two opposed points outside the diameter of the positive terminal, you can tack down a washer, it doesn't have to be a magnet. Scrub the washer and battery terminal, use some contact cleaner/antioxidant if available, as it's one more contact in the chain.

How are people liking the Vapage blue 18650s? Other than the positive terminal.

It's funny how much smaller the black XL looks compared to the silver.

My query is, has anyone found an alternate adapter for a 901 atty that works without modifying anything, on the XL.?

If the adapter is hollow and not too tall, like these look,

510 to 901/808-D Adapter

juice should be able to feed from the bottom up into the 901/808 without making any holes. Have y'all tried it? Worst case tipping the XL a bit?

This XL is really growing on me and I haven't used my other mods since I got it.I tried out HV vaping with it tonight and i'm really loving the flavor and the amount and warmth of vapor it produces.Right now i'm using a Ikenvape 4.5 ohm 510 at 6 volts and 7.4 volts depending on the juice i'm using.I still can't believe the level of performance i'm getting out of this $60 mod.If I only could have started vaping with this mod I would have saved a lot of money.

Well, I had almost given up completely on my XL VMod. I started having some issues Monday. I just wasn't getting a satisfying hit. I tried different batteries, different 510 atomizers, the BF atomizer, The Silo cartomizers. Just wasn't cutting it.
Now I will tell you my solution. I refilled the bottle with a different juice. I never thought a juice could make that much difference. I am getting warm hits, and plumes of vapor. Guess I'll keep the XL after all.
