Removing the sticker helps leave the o-ring in place. The various diameters seem to be what pulls them loose. I've been using a 306 in mine exclusively & it hasn't budged.
Been using SS only. Just a weird issue. When/if Vapage puts some up for sale Ill grab a few extras just in case. For now Im hoping to find something that'll work.
Take a razor blade and slice off a very thin piece of the end of a carto condom, place it close to the threads of the carto ie like with the original Vmod, it may help till you can pick up another O ring.
On my first XL, I had no trouble getting the i06 to fire. Today I tried the same i06 on a different XL, and it wouldn't.
This is the first time i really looked inside the collar/connector area. There's a good pit there, and i wonder if the screw fit at the very bottom is adjustable to come up some?
Seems like the i06 is having trouble making contact there.
If you look at the Silo, it actually has a big nipple for a connector pin (if that's what you call it) at that end, and it fits into that "pit".
I tried pulling the pin out on the i06 a bit but it wasn't enough.
Btw, I got the Universal Vapage 510 2.2 on there and it's really really good!!!
I also noticed that the feeding is done strictly from the side holes, not the center. ( didn't realize it before...I'm a guy that learns the hard way.)
So I'm happy I can use a variety of resistance and get a good vape.
Still gonna lay up some 1.5's for this baby.

AG, You mention a 306 atty. Do you like it better than the AMG Hybrid you mention in your signature?
I received my order of vapage silos and amg's today. still waiting for my xl, but in the mean time i tried a 1.5 amg on my reo grand and am liking it so far.
Wow, as an "old timer" here, I definitely feel like I have some catching up to do. I say that's because I'm STILL using the original Silo that came with the XL. That arrived on December 23. 4 weeks ago tomorrow.

Yes, without the o-ring juice will seep up the carto, but it stays in the chimney. The o-ring is a little flimsy and gets scraped every time you screw in a carto. For some atties that get air from the side holes like the IKV i06 and especially the fatter IKV Platinum Atty, the o-ring must be out or there's no air. On others juice and air come in the bottom and the o-ring seals it and makes it work better.
I wouldn't play with that "screw" at the bottom. I don't think it will rise, but you could possibly break the connection, and it's an important fork so the contact can be made, while allowing air and juice passage into the carto's bottom hole. Just try to pull the i06 pin out a hair more, it should get there. Does it make connection on other cartos/atties?

I tested the XL with different attys & the 306 is the one that I tested last. It works great & I've never taken it off. No disrespect to the BF Hybrid. I have 3 small Vmods & they are all rocking 1.5ohm AMG BF Hybrids.
Quick question about the inner o-ring: what types of atties require the o-ring: mine got crunched, so I took it out. I'm using Joye 510's on it and am not getting any leakage, but I want to get some 306's for those hard-to-vape juices that I seem to like so much.
The center pin at the bottom of the well just spins freely, its held in side the gasket. No threading.
Good to know. Of course this is all subjective, but which 306 are you using?
I'm not sure any actually REQUIRE it, but without it, if you don't keep your XL vertical, at some point you could conceivably get some juice outside the chimney -- but I've yet to see that. As a carto starts to get gummed up, it poses more resistance to being fed, and the squirsh gets harder. Then without the o-ring to keep it in, you start getting more juice show up on the barrel. The beauty of the design is that no juice seems to get beyond that.
I just changed the carto in my Vmod XL, and I am getting a burned taste. The poly seems plenty wet. Is there something I am doing wrong or overlooking when replacing the carto? I got the Silos from Vapage, same as it ships with.

It's best to pre-fill the carto & let it sit before the first use. Did you get the same resistance carto? Lower resistance burn easier. Freshly charged batteries are hotter & can result in a burnt taste.
I got the same 2.2 ohms that shipped with the XL. I'll do a fill & sit on a new one. Will the one with the burnt taste be good if I fill and let it sit or have I ruined it already?
Someone mentioned a cleaning method earlier in the thread. I believe it included a Pepsi soak in the procedure....
