vaptamist, let us know how you like the Kangers. They are on my wish list but I have yet to try them.

How's the XL today, smilee?

I will! Has anyone tried smoktek dual coils? 1.5 ohm DC's are usually a little light for me at 3.7v except for fruit flavors, but I just ordered some 1.25 ohms to try out.

Has anyone tried kanger horizontal coils on their vmod? I have a few en route to try out for the first time, and after reading some reviews, I'd think they would be ideal for a bottom feeder. Apparently they work best when you push liquid up through them instead of top filling.

Loving my 2.0 with this boge 2 ohm carto at the moment.

Oh, yeah, i tried 'em. I'm with Busardo on those. Unfortunately, they have a persistent background taste i don't like at all. I've even been unsuccessful pawning them off on the household village idiots. Boges and Rejuvenators rule!

Anybody see the CNN story: "electronic cigarette explodes"?

Oh, wow, the danger is everywhere!

Well, it's true, if you don't mind alligator rodeo, the HH.357 CAN be tamed. And it spits, and it snarls, and it hisses like an alligator on ...., watch that tail! but little by little it starts to obey. I was stealthing in a Thai restaurant last night, blowing on my soup, people turning around, like whoa, that's some steamy soup -- no, dude, that's an HH.357 on an XL in my palm ;-)

50/50? 50% radiator fluid? Masochists! I love my 90+% VG. If they ever come after the soup blower, a few puffs, and the posse won't even find the door!

There's a thread about the explosion in the Media section. Apparently, the fire department found a number of CR123 3v batteries and a charger, so the guess is that he was stacking his batteries. No word on what mod. He had been a vaper for 2 years, since being diagnosed with lung cancer, according to reports. Won't make me stop vaping, but makes me look hard at something like a Provari that has a lot of safety features built in. Also makes me rethink using the IMR's, although I heard a rumor that AW was working on protected IMR's. I hope the dude comes out of it ok.

I propose a small comparative probe under the slogan:
what battery is best, (not subjective opinions, data only)

Proposed provision in the format:

Battery / atty (or Carto) resistance / liquid (VGvsPG) / number of milliliters per battery

I start:

Hi-max 2600 mAh / 1.8 ohm bridgeless no name / 70% PG, 30% VG / ~ 7ml

and as for you?

I have one observation on the XL, and actually springs - there is a huge flaw, but the next version it could be improved

what some have mentioned that the press is also what jes result of oppression springs under the battery - it's easy enough to arrange a piece of rubber hose around the springs, but I have another problem:

I use the battery of extremely different sizes some are 65 mm and the other 69 and barely enter. Since the spring of their use has shrunk and I assume 65mm is not holding the battery, and an additional jump button is huge. I personally do not mind, I settled a rubber ring as I wrote above, but in future versions vmod this could be improved.

Smilee I also have had issues with battery snugness. After Fernand mentioned magnets, I ordered up a few and they work wonders for battery connection. I suggest having a few on hand for those smaller size batteries. :)
i tried this, in fact - it works ;)
i think that appropriate magnets are buid in box of xl ;) (did not check, but mine are from a similar box)

She mentions the rattling and "cheap feel". She has a point. A couple of inexpensive improvements can be seen in the photo below:

The red adhesive foam rubber keeps the battery in place. It prevents it from rolling out or rattling against the shell. Most importantly, it protrudes slightly so the shell rests against it -- it takes a little push to get it past the red thingy. That changes the loose "rattly" feel to a very solid one, as if one solid piece.

The o-ring on the bottle is also helpful. I replaced bottles on the little VMod many times, because that flexing cracked the neck-body joint. The big o-ring prevents the bottle neck from flexing when ya squirsh. I have yet to replace the bottle on the XL after several weeks, and it looks like it might last "forever". The o-ring can also be positioned as you like when you tighten the bottle, so the shell can rub against it as you pull it down -- another part of the unrattly "quality" feel.

Between these two the VMod feels much nicer in the hand. You know how much time that hand spends touching it!

Where's AG? I hope all's well and he's not mad at all the nubie-banter!

Her general comments were I thought were great.... Like the "no longer requires proprietary atties or cartos", "no leaking", "you can use any atty".... Stuff we already know... Best one was she said "I like it".... Many a vaper take heed in Mervgryphons words which is great for the XL and Vapage... Just sayin...

BTW... Almost 600 hits since she posted it 6 days ago...

I watch her videos a bunch and even revisit them for little tricks nd such which she reveals when doing a close up review. She hit it on the head about a nice little mod for the money.
