What's the logic behind wiring the charger direct to the battery rather than to the board, please?

As Bap said, electrically it is the exact same thing. The Bat +/- and Charger +/- terminals on the dna are connected via a trace on the board. Read Bat+ to Charger+ on a DNA (same goes for the - ) with a Multimeter, you will see it is a dead short, same as if a wire connected the two points.

I just made the exact same connection via my wiring because it was more convenient and cleaner in my particular layout. It is really up to you, both methods work, you decide which suites your layout better.

For those of you who ordered the 510 kit from FatDaddy Vapes, here is a hack I did so I could use those cool spring loaded pins Bap found.

I pull the delrin out and drilled through the center of it with a #30 drillbit. This is just big enough that the pin can be press fit into the delrin and it will stop at the retainer ring on the pin. I then sanded off about 2mm off the top of the delrin (3mm would have been better) to keep it from sticking out down below the connector. Soldered a wire to the bottom of the pin, then pulled the loose end of the wire through the top of the delrin and press fit the pin into the delrin. Worked out pretty cool. I will probably "pot" the bottom of the pin with silicon rubber as an insulator and strain relief.

Mike that is a cool vise....me like!

Did you grind down the delrin so you could get the nut on and off without removing it?

Its a watch vise. Cheap on Amazon and handy as heck.
I got it a while back to work on drilling Genny Decks.

No, didnt think of the nut thing but I will do so ASAP, thanks, that will be handy.

Now i understand, after seeing the diagram you put up in your "girlie" mod thread.

Probably something i would do when i get the board, at least cutting down on the wires that's coming out from it.

Thats what I like about it, nice and clean, and the fewer wires on that board the better for me, it gets kind of crowded as it is.

Yea. Cleaner and easier to manage those wires. I would have to ask you more on those wires and stuff once everything is in order.

I ordered the Hammond 1590WABK from a local online store, the 12mm fire switch & keystone single 18650 holder from ebay. Have 20 and 24 awg wires standing by.

Just ordered the vise....:)

BTW I have been vaping the black box exclusively all day.Filled the Russian 5 times, 17 hours.. 1.3 ohm on the Russian at 17 watts.
The gauge shows the battery about a third discharged. Looks like the 6000 mAh is a true weekender.:vapor:

My CF/vinyl came in today, but they only sent me one 4"x12" piece when I ordered 2. I needed 8"12" to wrap a tube mod and have left over for a box. :(
They just sent me an 8"x12" piece, I get to keep the first one for free. :)

Just ordered the vise....:)
Same here. :) Thanks for the tips!

The naked 6k nano is oh so close to fitting in the Tibs-2 :(

Length or width???:) When I saw your slide in front panel on the aluminum box, I thought, why not just a generic front panel for the DNAs and everyone could use or build whatever box for the batteries. Just cut a rectangle in the box that the generic front panel would pop in. OR build a cardboard box around it..:D
