I must not be near as observant as I think I am because I rarely if ever see people looking. Usually anyone that asks is someone that knows me, otherwise people just seem to ignore it.
when i vape in public people think im smoking [MODERATED]. after like 9th assumption i asked why they thought that. apparently i look like i would do that (walk around in public using illegal drugs for everyone including cops to see). i have a purple mohawk, tattoos and almost 1 inch plugs in my ears. pretty sure thats why. matter fact i remember my boss telling me if i vape at work to not let customers see because my appearance would lead them to believe i was using some type of illegal substance...

Happens to me sometimes as well, but usually it just sparks a conversation. However, when I first started vaping, probably about a month or 2 in while sitting at a red light in my car happily vaping away, I hear some woman yelling. She was screaming "that's not cool ya know!" I looked around for a minute trying to find out who she was yelling at, then I saw her staring directly at me with this disgusted look on her face. I said something like "what are you talking about?", completely forgetting that my ego with a tank may look strange. She said, smoking that thing in your car like that! I could tell her husband who was driving was trying to get her to calm down and as soon as the light turned green he gunned it, but not before I could smile and politely say it's a ecig and I'm not smoking, I'm vaping. Not sure if it even registered with her or not, but it certainly was an eye opening experience for myself.

Yup happened yesterday at my kids school. I was in my car vaping away. I just waved at the old man (while still vaping away). I wanted to roll down my window and let him catch a wiff but it was raining

Cool story, and on a side note, I live in a rural town in SW Virginia and you can certainly tell it...they have one of those ".... Depot" things right outside the gym door at my daughter's elementary school. Farmers' kids - smoking since age 3..... LOL but seriously, even when I was a smoker I felt that was kinda weird...like it was some sorta trap or sometihng, lol.

I also like to start a conversation about vaping, especially with smokers. Many people ask the same questions; does it work, and does it have to be so BIG. I answer politely with yes to both.
I've given some guys at my office a double take or 2, they spend their breaks outside with mechanical mod/kayfun type setups. One day one guy had a black tubed nemesis sitting by him, mine in my shirt pocket I almost started a conversation... Ah well

and yes i know we were all stinkies at one point.
One of a security come down and ask me to stop smoking at cta station , he saw me on camera he said . After i explained him . He said go head carry on hahahah that security dude was cool
I was getting a strange look just a few minutes ago from the guy sitting in his car next to mine along the outfield fence of our kids baseball game. I always played outfield back in the day and that is where I like to watch baseballs from. Anyway, I overheard the conversation he was having on his mobile talking about me blowing 'smoke'. After he ended his call, I rolled down my window and explained it was an e-cig. He wanted to know more and I educated.

I had a cop in my house the other day. I was part a group complaint against an abusive man towards his woman. The cop was standing in my kitchen where my lazy Susan table is loaded with vape bait, lol. I was vaping in front of him. He kept looking at me, my vape, the table; over and over. It was quite comical. You could tell he wasn't sure what to make of it all. So I asked him what his thoughts were on vaping. He said, "What's that?" I think he was serious!! So I filled him in and he said, he wasn't sure about the table. He said, he didn't want to ask, lol
I don't know anyone who vapes and I've never seen anyone else vape, except on youtube vids. It's just me all by my lonesome. And i've never noticed anyone looking at me when I vape in the car back and forth to work. Oh well.
Haha, yeah...to the average unknowing person you gotta admit it does look suspicious, lol
