Sorry if this is redundant walked in the door a little late but what about nicotine being carcinogenic?
"Nicotine stimulates angiogenesis and promotes tumor growth and atherosclerosis." (Source Wikipedia)
Or is that all just a lie too...

yes,they used genetically modified cells.
the cells they used are a learning tool as pretty
much anything will cause them to mutate.(some believe bad thoughts will do it.)
their primary use is to study the different stages
of a disease as it progresses to better understand
how the whole process works.
they are not intended to detect cancer causing agents.

That's from a 14 year old study done on mice, there is more current research available, I believe there are even links already in this thread. If you can't find them, I'll grab them for you, but here's a good article to start with: Nicotine, the Wonder Drug? | DiscoverMagazine.com

oops, there is a more recent study using cells.
however remember, lab ice are breed to be more
prone to mutations and are not the same as an otherwise
healthy human.

Here is a Completely Straight Question.

Do you think there are Any Downsides to Using Nicotine via e-Cigarettes?

Cold hands and feet. I had been hoping that that effect was caused by the CO in cigarette smoke, but that doesn't seem to be the case; my hands and feet are just as cold this winter as they have been for 30+ yrs.

Last winter when I first started vaping, I started at 6mg... and I did get a little relief, but now that I'm at 10mg, that's gone. This is about the only reason I can personally find for eventually reducing my nic level, possibly to about 5mg, though nic reduction will have to wait until the WTA is gone.

When I say "advocating for doing nothing" I am referring to people who pop into discussions about doing something, and instead talk about...
--How they're not worried
--How nothing is going to happen
--How there is nothing we can do about it

When people exhibit a pattern of behavior like that, it becomes advocating for doing nothing as far as I'm concerned.
And it's pretty damn offensive to people who ARE trying to do something, and especially to those who have SUCCEEDED in doing something.

Hey, wait a second, I resemble those remarks.
And you know it.

I've not read much past this post by you, but compelled to respond. I'm (still) overly concerned with what FDA proposed in initial round, because what they have thus far proposed seems tame. It is the "what more could they do" that I see lots of people (arguably the overwhelming majority that discuss such things) as being genuinely concerned. If I bring up the whole kids angle, then suddenly I see lots of people on board with regulations and how that's righteous. So knowing that people (vapers) are perfectly willing to encourage FDA to go in that direction, tells me very very very clearly, that they are very very very okay with a black market existing in something they enjoy. If I have not made that argument more clear, I will.

Especially in a thread titled, "Well it's got to be bad for you." Where it would seem many would argue for the idea of, "well of course it has to be bad for kids." Without seemingly realizing what exactly they just did there that delivered half of what the FDA wants on a silver platter with a pretty pink bow. You can say all you want in an advocacy discussion that black market is not a solution, but then when you are essentially saying that is the only solution for minors, well, you done just went off on the deep end of hypocrisy and made it easier to show why the current set of FDA regulations aren't really something to be worried about.

Inhaling anything but oxygen in your lungs is bad for you. To me, vaping is about harm reduction. It is LESS harmful than inhaling smoke. How much less harmful...only time and studies will tell us for sure.

If you inhale pure oxygen, you're in for a world of hurt. Air is 78%-79% nitrogen.

Yes but cravings are in your head (mentally) not physically pouring at your orifices!
I think your "cravings" are just an excuse because you want to vape on a plane..

I suggest you check nicotine withdrawal symptoms (including cold sweat, nausea etc) they're not "just in your head". In the end you may vomit too. So it looks strange that one shall refrain from vaping to the point of vomiting on his seat neighbor. How does this address the issue of "passengers discomfort re vaping"? Is vomit better than just some scent in the air? (wouldn't it make more sense for an airline to restricting vaping to "unflavoured" only?).

In pure oxygen he will spontaneously burst in flames.

Heh... actually in hospitals they will administer pure oxygen in various ways... canula, full-face mask, oxygen tent; but that's ONLY for people whose blood oxygen is sub-par. Pure oxygen contributes to extreme oxidation of the body's tissues, which brings into possibility LOADS of bad things.

When I was pregnant and suffered an extreme asthma attack, they wouldn't even give me OXYGEN... because it would have been very bad for the fetus in my wombus. :D

Pure oxygen is deadly under pressure, greater than maybe 2-3 1.6 atmospheres. Usually only of concern to scuba divers using it to off gas nitrogen during decompressions from very deep dives. Even slightly elevated percentages of oxygen are dangerous at the low end of recreational scuba depths ("Nitrox" mixes). The point being that even something as basic as O2 can be hazardous under certain conditions. Nothing is always non-toxic in all conditions.

ETA: That should read 1.6 ATA's, not 2-3. So beyond 19 feet depth you may find out O2 is not so safe.
