No, because you think kids get to do anything they want, even in a classroom.

I think that?

You're saying that you can vape in someones house or business despite them saying "No vaping here". You're saying that any rule at all is unreasonable.

I'm saying this? Where are you getting that from? I mean, you wouldn't care to quote where exactly I said these things you are saying I said, and think?

You claimed someone was on the ANTZ side because they don't support vaping in classrooms.

I didn't make that claim in post #150. I implied (via my bolding of their comment) that saying, "It comes to a certain point when you just have to say no" is the type of message that an ANTZ camp member would welcome. Nowhere in post #150 do I mention the word "class" or "classroom." I was speaking to the larger point, which is what matters most to me in this discussion. See middle of post #204 if wishing to remember that larger point. In post #152, I implied that if you (as a vaper) are advocating against vaping in a classroom you are conveying a message that an ANTZ member would welcome. That ANTZ would consider you on their side, IMO. Which again plays into the larger point, which I brought up (hinted at) in post #152.

You're the kind of guy the ANTZ are going to quote to say "See, they are trying to push that stuff on kids and get them hooked!".

They may if they misquote me, as you have done.

No, we don't agree. You're spouting nonsense, and I don't want you tying me to it.

Well again, I stand by all my posts in this thread and that includes where I have said "I agree with... A teacher does have the right to impose certain restrictions, even those that might not be endorsed by all reasonable adults."

I also said "we agree" in response to you saying:

I do agree with you in general about how people should be allowed to vape starting at 14. I don't think it should be encouraged, but I don't think that a law against it will help anything. Personally, I'd put no age rule on it and leave it to parents to deal with. That doesn't mean that kids suddenly get control of the classroom and can do anything they want.

But hey, if you want to paint me as the one spouting nonsense, while laying claim to what I think and what I said, but you can't quote me as saying, then that's up to you. I kinda think it is disrespectful for a reasonable discussion, but oh well.

If you are for advocating against vaping in a classroom, then I would address post #150 to you.

I'm thinking same reasons given for not vaping there could be used to justify/explain why vaping in other places is a no go.

I.E. - don't vape in a car while driving, it can be a distraction to you as a driver and to other drivers who are curious about what you are up to. Plus the harm aspect as we just don't know what's in these things. Which means no vaping in your own home. That's just dangerous.

Welcome to the ANTZ side! We've been waiting for you. Now will you please use this same message to stop people from vaping anywhere? We are going to make a bumper sticker based on your words, "just say no to vaping." Our mission is to show how vaping is undeniably harmful and a distraction to a caring society. Kids must absolutely learn to obey and conform. And by "kids" we mean pretty much everyone in society, but we start our campaign with the youngest members, singling out the bad apples. We find guilt and hype work best for the cause. Oh, and that threat thing you did toward minors, at the end of your post, golden! More of that please! All we ask is you keep perpetuating these messages, and we'll keep perpetuating the myths of danger and disobedience.

Apology accepted.

In my worldview, kids 14 and up ought to be able to vape everywhere, as long as they are respectful. Given politics of the day, I can see why they ought to not be allowed to buy vape gear/juice, but buying and possessing are distinct items.

If eCigs are 10 times safer than traditional cigarettes and at least some of the people reading this smoked at age 14 (or younger) and are alive decades later to talk about it, I truly fail to see the harm involved unless I take a page out of the ANTZ playbook and claim there's no way of knowing what's in these things or the potential health effects.

ANTZ are going to continue hating on eCigs regardless of kids vaping or not.

It is not my intent to "pick on" you, or turn you away from engaging in this discussion, but the above, to me, is not demonstrative of someone who not is ready to undergo the process to learn, understand, and execute responsibly, with regard to e cigarettes. And not because you don't want to be responsible, but perhaps you are not ready to be.

So after the "but" statement, I'm trying to understand what's being said here. I'm thinking there's a typo and that one of the "not" words isn't meant to be in there? Cause it reads as, "the above is demonstrative of someone who is ready to undergo the process to learn," if both not words are included. Which is ironic since the grammar police felt it necessary to dissect this (dieselrick's) post and judge the poster accordingly.

But the "perhaps you are not ready to be" strikes me as condescending. But I'm glad dieselrick is asking questions elsewhere on ECF and getting answers, just like the umpteen other thousand people who come to ECF and ask questions, all of whom none of us know their age or life experience, except for what they choose to reveal.

This is the concern of some adults with regards to e cigarette use by underage children. I completely understand wanting to have the right to choose, and to be responsible for those things you are choosing, but just because you want it, does not mean that you are ready to have it ... and I say this with Love, and concern, not judgement. :)

Would you wish to have that judgment applied to you? Your own judgment being applied to you, that you are (perhaps) not ready to advance with eCigs and that it is only being said to you out of love. How does that sit with you? Just curious.

If I could like this post from my phone, I would, but I can't, so I'm letting you know. I appreciate this and it needed to be said.

I love supporting our local shops and meeting other vapers in my city. I am a known local activist/blogger for other causes and like to spread the word about good things I find and learn about.

I'm not much of a people person (think they taste good whith a red whine sauce mostly) but today I actually applied for a part time job at a local vape store. I have been in there several times and found out that I actually have a knack for helping people pick out devices that suit them. That and I seriously believe in the safety and benefits of vaping as opposed to analogs.
Should kids be allowed to vape? Probably not. Are the going to? You know it. Heck I was brewing and distilling my own booze way before I could buy it just because I couldn't buy it. Kids being kids they are going to do whatever no matter what "the law" says.

Good luck with that job prospect!

Well that is what I would call a bad proof read (on my part). The ironic thing is that I added the second "not" after I posted the comment (see edit of original post), because I actually misread my own writing. Thank you for pointing it out.

As far as the same "judgement", as you put it, being applied to me, and how that would sit with me? I am a bit amused by the question, because I feel it implies the assumption that I would, or even should be offended, or hurt by "the same judgement", again, as you put it ... and I wouldn't be. I cannot be hurt by the opinion, perspective, or judgement of another.

And I will be honest with you in that I have a hard time taking any of your frequent quoting, debating, and commenting seriously, because I do not feel that there is anything "genuine" behind it, as far as intent is concerned. I feel like it is your intent to "provoke", and "incite", as opposed to genuinely engage, and discuss. So ..... (shrug)

Jman I have come to the conclusion that if I have to read any more of your volumes of posts and thread takeovers in which you twist what people are saying beyond recognition to try and support YOUR perspective I am going to say something eventually that WILL get me banned.

So welcome to my ignore list. No more worries about spouting off for me.

Jman, Who the hell said anything about "Grammar Police?" I'm with Robert Heinlein: "Never correct my grammar." I was talking about plain damn laziness. No periods, that's punctuation. Grammar ain't mean no never damn all to me as long as I am understood.

 You are a gem! A perfect gem. ;-)
