With regulated mods, I usually like more wraps/higher resistance with a bit more power for better flavor, but with these tc mods I seem to like lower res. builds for some reason.
Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.

I'm actually vaping a 0.18 ohm dripper right now on the Sigelei box and have the power significantly lower than what that would be on a mech mod. Lets me use 24 gauge Kanthal which I really like for easy maintenance, that stuff is really tough :). It has slightly less flavor but I make my own juice and can adjust the recipe easily a bit to compensate.

The thing with Ni and Ti is they have lower resistance per surface area so to get the same vape you have to go lower res.

Yeah I'm gonna try that twisted wire, and aim for about .3Ω. I'm fine with wimpy 1.7Ω builds with kanthal, but with TC, it'll start out ok, but after about a day or so, the vapor and flavor really fall off to nearly nothing, using a .5Ω titanium coil. So I figured I'd try something more extreme; I can keep the temp on the low side to start with, as I generally do for breaking-in wicks anyway... but after a day or so, if the vapor/flavor fall off, I can turn it up a bit more and maybe keep it vaping well enough. Considering that I can't dry-burn titanium, and it costs roughly twice the price of kanthal, putting a new coil on everyday is not a good solution.

FWIW, here's how I 'dry burn' my Ti coils.

Take out the wick and rinse the coil in water. I have DNA40 mods so the calibration with Ti is off. I start at 400 deg (probably around 500 deg with Ti) and fire the mod. At that temp the coil doesn't glow at all. I raise the temp in steps until the wire just starts to glow slightly as the mod pulses the power. That is IMO not hot enough to cause any health issues and nowhere near hot enough to cause the wire to burn.

I let that cook for 20 - 30 seconds and repeat a couple of times. By that time the crud has generally cooked to the point that I can start to pick it away with a small screwdriver or dental pick. I repeat as required. If the coil starts to glow more through this process I reduce the temp. I find it's better to not let the coil get too gunked up between cleanings. I feel if I keep the max temperature low enough the wire will not do anything bad to my health.

Take what you will from this and remember it's just my opinion. In the end homemade coils are pretty cheap and easy to make, but I'm lazy and that's one reason I like Kanthal.

Still say the number one cause of performance dropping off is the wick... It's not saturating enough, causing temp protection to kick in early. :p

I've found it's coil gunk. I've actually put wicks back in after dry burning coils and they performed fine. But that's with my setups not yours, so your situation might be different. As always in vaping, YMMV :)

Kinda judgemental of ya there VictorViper. :D

Heheh, I meant no judgment on those of you that use them. I'm VERY judgmental of the smarmy business of counterfeiting. A little less so when it comes to cloning. ;)

Out of curiosity guys, how many of yall use multiple items during the day. For today I ran two STM's, one with cherry cigar, one with butterscotch. A Lemo II with berserker chocolate, then I been dripping during the day with the Troll with vanilla cupcake, the mutation X with cherry cola and the mutation X clone with vanilla custard.
I never could go a day with just one flavor.

I tend to have just one that I vape all the time, and one alternate -- for a long time it's been my Smocha as the alternate, because the bitterness of the coffee and tobacco flavors helps to "reset" my palate if I stop being able to taste my sweet strawberry -- which has been the "one" for about 7-8 months now.

As for devices, I also tend to have one that I use all the time, and lately that's been the Achilles. The Smocha lives in a gold kayfun on my gun-metal Vamo, and it's fine in that. I have a couple other RDAs, a magma that I always use for taste-testing; a Veritas I'm going to play with more, with my Evic; maybe with temp control I can tolerate dual coils? Who knows? I won't know unless I try it; my main problem with duals has always been the excessive heat, requiring more airflow than I like; both issues may well have become non-issues, with TC! But that Veritas is much too pretty to give up on, without trying all sorts of things with it. :D

I've got 4 flavors going right now, cause that's all my tanks :p
Sometimes in the evening I'll pull out a dripper and add a 5th

According to tracking, you should get that RSBT tomorrow. ;)

I tend to only run one device, whatever mod I'm liking at the moment, and a dripper. I use minimal wicking though, so I can change flavors on the fly as long as I don't overdrip. I've usually got up to 10 bottles sitting in front of me, but I usually pick 3 a day to cycle through: a fruity vape, a dessert/bakery, and an "other" which is usually something like a floral or something else that is just really different, as a palate cleanser.

Has anyone found a flavour that they have to buy to enjoy vaping? Like when we used analogs in the past most of us stuck to one brand, is there an eliquid you've found that you just can't do without?
When I smoked, I had a preferred brand, but if money was tight I would smoke what I could afford.

With vaping, I have a few liquids that I love and always feel like I have a craving for, but money is still tight so I don't get to order them as often as I'd like. So no, nothing I can't do without.

I just swap flavours willy-nilly, sometimes with a rewick, depending on the juice. Otherwise I'm pretty boring; my box, my atty and a 10ml plastic bottle of something vanilla or mint. Seriously, my parallel box has put my poor newish shadow mod into partial retirement.

PS - 100 pages!! :D

My vaping collection is quite spartan compared to most here; I generally only have one device running at a time. Big Buddha Mini/Sigelei Mini (see a trend?) and my ADV is Brass Knuckles from SteamPunk. I also cycled through the last of my Wakanda, which I only got 15ml as a trial and the dripper bottle top was busted so it wouldn't secure. Must have lost half that juice so next paycheck it's time to go again.

My backups are Ego/EVOD combos, one with menthol (rarely used) and the other with Brass Knuckles (coz I got 4oz).

DIY brand :D. With the amount of juice I consume vaping would cost me more than smoking if I had to buy all my juice. Yesterday I mixed up two 60ml bottles of Vanilla for pipe and two 60 ml bottles of a Vanilla custard and I expect they plus other juice will last me for the two weeks I will be away from home at work. Even if I bought the cheap house stuff at the vape shop those 4 bottles of juice would cost me $120 yet mixing it myself I doubt if it cost me $5.

Edit: Just ran the numbers on what it cost me to make 120 ml of Cigar for pipe and 120 ml of Vanilla custard and its around $6.68. Still a vast savings over $120.
