My goto build is 9 wraps of 26g on 2.5mm for a 1Ω coil run at 20W and it gives a great vape on the KF4. I wick with Rayon split into a 60/40 trim, shoulders a few mm from the coil and tails down onto the deck.
Split trimming the wick when using Rayon is a must with anything that has a Kayfun or Orchid deck. I don't do it with the FeV as it is not required since the wick just sits there on the coil screws.
Standard KF4 Build
I don't centre my builds (totally unnecessary, IMO), so it's kind of a byproduct of that. My two-post atties get the vertical treatment, so that's a whole other can of worms too.
Vape mail today!!!!!!!!!!! The Mutation X V4 clone and the Mutation X V4 Indulgance showed up today and are vaping real well.
The one on the left is the clone and it has a super deep juice well. 8 mm deep!I built dual Ni200 coil builts on it of 2.5 mm at 17 wraps and it feeds real well and vapes good. I wont say outstanding because the flavor could be better. I will include a video on it if anyone wants to see more on it.
The one on the right is a standard Mutation X V4. I built a 28 Kanthal dual coil at 6 wraps for it. Comes out at .5 ohms. I find the best flavor from it is when I close off the side holes all the way and just use the bottom holes. Real thick vapor with real good flavor. Super thick clouds with it when vaped at 20 watts. There is an extension for it that gives a cooler vape and allows you to use regular drip tips.

Back to my usual half-ohm dual verticals on the Petri. I had my fun, but it's time to get back to womping.
I tried to do a mesh U wick in my Urba last night, but one side of the wick kept kinking up so I gave up. Its a genny type RTA. I'm a little concerned the thin rayon tails will be breaking off into the tank though.
For those of us who are image challenged, you would roll the mesh diagonally?
Yes, it will bend without creasing as easily.
Which again have nothing to do with the Mutation lineup, who is made by these folks here...

The so called V5 is an CCI Archon clone, I guess it is just easier for China to call them all Mutations so they will sell...

Honestly, if it weren't for clones, I might not still be vaping. I'm not sure if I'd be smoking, but I definitely wouldn't have the gear that I have.
