OMG we have readers here!!

IRL, I have one friend (my best friend) and one co-worker who reads books. Everyone else looks at me like I'm an alien when I mention a book I'm reading.

I tend towards horror and suspense (King and Koontz mostly) but lately I've been getting more into fantasy (just finished all 12 books of the Nightside series, now working on the Magician series.) There's also the occasional non-fiction, drama, or whatever catches my eye. :) Is this series you're talking about worth checking out?

How refreshing to find one more reason to hope for the future of mankind. LOL.

You'd have a good time with my bookshelves... so loaded with King and Koontz it's hard to find anything else... well, except for Kim Harrison. :D

Preston and Childs is a great read also!
I'm on a post-apocalyptic run now. I read all the time. I only watch sports on tv.
It's nothing to go through 8 novel's a month. Thank goodness for the library!

P&C is another big showing on my shelves... also Patricia Cornwell.

Sounds like I would love your collection. I have read the gunslinger series about 10 times! It's my favorite King books.
Probably about time to read them again.

I'm not exactly sure how to describe what I taste... a "chemical" taste is the best I can do. It's sorta like... 1% of the nasty taste I got from a rayon dry hit -- just a tinge of it. And it's horrible, and takes a WHILE to get it out of my nose and mouth. No thanks! :)

What brand were you using? Sounds like you got some with chemicals in it

Remember Kat, there's a whole spectrum :) "All are welcome at the Table" ;)

Thank you, Dinger. I have never once lost site of that. In fact, my inspiration has been greatly enhanced this morning as I watch and listen to Drew Osborne's vids. He's wonderful!

No idea. Every bit of rayon I've got was PIFed to me. It's probably the Sally's stuff though, the cellucotton, because all the PIF'ers were at one point or another active in the big rayon thread.

I used to read the insides.
Now I can only see well enough to read the covers..:)

That's the main reason I'm so terrified of diabetes, which GALLOPS thru my family... The idea of going blind horrifies me, I couldn't read! I can't stand listening to people reading aloud! I read a LOT!!! faster than I can listen!!!

Makes me wanna go read a book. I remember bein totally absorbed into another world by a good book. It was like bein in an alternate world. Your imagination and a book can be so much more creative and satisfying than watching a movie. As a kid, I read every sci-fi book I could get hold of and was obsessed with Hardy Boys series. I was probably 14 when I read a book last. I think it was Of Mice and Men.

To me, being without reading material is akin to (formerly) being without cigarettes, or (now) unable to get a good vape -- IOW, not to be tolerated. It's "virtual reality", or "out of body travel." Can't live without it!

I'm not a very fast reader, but I enjoy actually reading. However, I got really into audio books when I was doing data entry. Some of them are really good, it really depends on who is doing the reading. Some of the scifi/fantasy books do full productions with sound effects, like the old radio shows. Some series have really great readers that come to BE the character for you. If I recall correctly, the Kim Harrison books are pretty good on audio, the J.D. Robb Eve Dallas series is great.

I read up to Dreams Made Flesh and thought the series was over. Gonna have to revisit them and check out the newer ones.
