I gotta come clean. I hate 28ga wire. Just to thin to be useful.
Orchids have small decks and a dual .7 with 26ga fills them right up. But with stock wicking they work great. Grind them out and you need more wicking and room becomes a issue. So 28 allows smaller coils which fit better BUT 28 burns up and is a all around to GD thin wire for whomping applications. At 30w (where I vape most of the time) you have roiughly a one second window to make a mistake and get the snot burnt out of you wicks.
I just rebuilt Orchid #1 (yes I engraved numbers to keep track) with 26ga at .7(.68)Ω and while I had to work at getting those huge coils and extra cotton in the tiny chimney its worth it. Sick of having to hold 28ga little hand and keep repeating everything will be ok there there little flower.
