Hmm Im a 20w or so womper and I still make my juices with Like 20-30% flavoring depending on the recipe. The strawberry 'bubbleburst' Im vaping right now has 12% TFA Strawberry in it on top of Sweet Cream, Vanilla Swirl, Bubble Gum and Sweet and Tart all mixed in. When I moved beyond my kayfun armada into dripping, my wattage immediately went up and I honestly just kept the recipes exactly they way they were, if anything the flavoring was finally consistent and in your face for once. I never knew they tasted THAT good until I upped the power and started dripping em. Im with Andria, the $10 bottles of 'Throat Hit' nic from Vapers Tek are the way to go. I dont even notice any added harshness or 'throat hit' unless I happen to have a coil up too high in my RDAs. Its pretty smooth, it makes me wonder if their regular $40 nic is like completely transparent. I think it was Vaper Tek's site (might have been Nude Nicotine) where I read that for storage its better to buy your nic with a PG base as opposed to VG. VG does funny things in the freezer, and there was something else that wasnt ideal for long term storage but I cant remember at the moment, Ill see if I can dig it up.

Oh and about keeping a journal and writing mixes down. Grab the E-juice me up calculator! That thing rules and is a life saver! I havent been to the thread in awhile but somewhere in the TFA recipes thread, someone created a Dropbox account that is FULL of recipes you can load up in the calculator and start going at it. Alot of em were collected from Bills Magic Vapors posts in the thread (which is like a billion pages long now) but people keep adding to the collection as well. I gotta go dig through em now and see if theres an RY4 recipe in there. Im pretty sure Bill has mentioned one before, and I really wanna try a good one now. Last time I had a free sample from Nude it was soooooooo good.

You bring up a couple good points Monotremata. Taste is always subjective with vaping. If I like one juice flavor/mixture that doesnt mean you will like it nor if I like one percentage in my mixes does not mean you or anyone else will also like it that way. The majority of people are on the smae page with flavor percentages being cut down to below %10 for higher wattage usage, but its not set in stone and not everyone agrees on it.
Also a good point on PG Nic is the freezing of it. VG nic i have heard but not confirmed will seperate when frozen while PG nic wont.

Also since you brought it up, explain to me how something flavorless is soooo good? Nicotine is flavorless unless you order peppery Nic. Dont know about TH Nic but all base nicotine is flavorless so how can one brand be sooooo good? The nude nic fan club ticked me off a long time ago so maybe thats why I am against nude nic. As a new mixer I asked why should I pay more than twice what other places was selling it for and was met with some real rudeness so now I am asking you, whats the deal with Nude nic. Why is it soooo good.

Wattage does "unlock" the flavor. I can hit a tank a 20w and say so-so but at 40w its super intense.

Cold pizza is good. Hot pizza is great. Nobody has every tipped the pizza boy extra for bringing them a cold pie.

Pg is nasty stuff. VG is slightly sweet. So an unflavored high VG joose is mildly sweet. Unflavored high PG would be like vaping kerosene.

Another great calculator is DIY E-Liquid Calculator Ten Flavors With Nicotine Plus PG/VG Adjusting -- it lets you use pre-made ejuice as an ingredient, since it allows you to enter a nic level and PG/VG level for every single item you enter -- which also makes it great for adding WTA. It's the only one I've ever used, since I started using WTA sometime before I started "real" DIY -- I used this calculator to add a certain percentage of the 100% VG WTA to pre-made ejuice, so I could make sure the PG/VG levels were right for my wonky lungs.

Tip for new DIY mixers, get a large (120 Ml plastic squeeze bottle w/flip top nozzle) to use mixing your base. Measure out the exact Ml of nic concentate you need using a syringe an water, mark it on the side of the bottle. Add a syringe of water for PG, mark it, then VG, and mark the bottle. Once marked, you can reproduce the nice level you prefer in a flash.

Then try mixing each of your flavors separtely, get an idea what each tastes like. Some that sounded so good will turn out to be drain cleaner for your tastes. If you mix 6 flavors in one batch to start, you'll never figure out what's ruining the flavor. Know your ingredients...

You can even try mixing a few single flavor batches (10 Ml is good starting point) together a tank full at a time to see what proportions you prefer.

Ive never used Nude's nic myself. My first 250ml bottles of PG and VG came from them though, since I ordered all my supplies from them. Vapers Tek has the best price on it so Ive just always bought it from them. The throat hit stuff is 1/4 of the price of their regular nic too. Its supposed to have that 'peppery hit' to it but honestly, it doesnt taste any different to me from all the premium juices I bought so I just keep buying it. Nude seems pretty cool, they really go above and beyond sending you the batch info on their liquids you buy, but yeah I cant justify spending the money on their nic when I can get the same thing for waaaaay cheaper at VT. VTs shipping is awesome as well, its always Priority and Ive always gotten my nic in 3 days the few times Ive ordered it. The first time I saw the little 120ml bottle I thought 'Oh thats IT?' but I was shocked when it lasted up until last month. I bought two more a few months ago so I guess Im covered for another 2 years now haha. I should probably get one of the bigger bottles to stash in the freezer just in case something drastic happens regulation-wise before they run out..

This is exactly why I buy the "TH Nic" -- I can't actually tell a bit of difference in the throat hit from it to Wizlabs' nicotine, but the TH Nic is only $10/120ml -- wizlabs' is $15.99 -- big diff in price, no diff in taste.

I suppose if i used a huge amount, I might be able to tell a difference, but at 9-10mg, it's pretty much the same.

I use to mix up my own version of a RY4 that was yummy as a tootle puffer vape. %15 Caps Smooth tobacco, %5 Caps Caramel, %3 TFA Baverian Cream, %2 TFA Sweet Cream. In a T3S or a CE5 it was heavenly and my daily vape for months and months. When I tried it in my first Kayfun it was such a creamy overload I couldnt vape it and there was no going back to tootling in CE5's.
I was kinda burned out on creamy tobacco vapes then so moved on to single flavor straight tobacco vapes and still enjoying them.

When I first started mixing I did a ton of research and spent all my time in the DIY section reading everything and asking a question here and there. Every few weeks a nic question would come up and people would discuss the various nics and then the Nude Nic fan club would show up as a bunch of elitist. I asked why one day and wouldnt accept the reason that they are the best because you get a certificate and was seriously dumped on for it. To this day no one has been able to give an honest answer why they consider Nude Nic as the best or why anyone should pay more than twice what everyone else is selling nic for.

Moving on, Im trying something new with my DIY. Seen in a store yesterday some of these condiment squeeze bottles that will hold 350 ml of juice.

For a buck each was worth giving a try. I use a lot of Vanilla Custard and just plain Vanilla so I mixed up 350 ml of each. Now I can take one or the other, add a fruit flavor to them and have a shake and vape without a long steep time, especially for the Custard. At least thats the idea

Then I use a spreadsheet on my computer to keep track of whats in them. That way I don't have to make new labels.

I will do that also at times and then write down in my journal what 1-10 is. If I am doing larger bottles of 30 or 60 ml I will do that too and jot it down on whatever is handy until they are finished in the ultrasonic cleaner then label them.

I will never understand paying that much for one mod, when for that money, I could buy 5 or 6 -- I DON'T CARE how great it is, 5 or 6 is better than ONE. I get bored easily, and paying that much would mean I couldn't relieve my boredom with a new mod for over a year -- it would take me that long to save up for it!

I really don't find any differences in the taste of nicotine. Those using 18mg, well I guess they might, but with as little as I use (9-10mg), it's just not enough to make that big a difference.

These folks using 3mg... seriously? There is no way they could tell anything about the taste of the nicotine, with that little in the mix.

Heck, when I was mixing WTA in as 10% of my vape, I couldn't taste it -- and WTA actually *has* a taste. The smell is somewhere between tobacco and hazelnuts, a little smoky.

It irritates me, especially when a newbie ask about what nicotine to use and all these peeps swomp them with the same old "only real mixers use nude nic, dont even bother if your not willing to get the best" BS line and try to brow beat them into spending more than twice what others are charging for the same quality nicotine. See it a lot on FB DIY pages. If its so good then I wish someone would explain why it is worth over twice as much as the others nicotine.
