I and many others agree that all vapors should have a solid understanding of ohms law and battery safety but sadly that is not the case. There is millions upon millions of people who vape yet only a small percentage of them are aware of the resources available to them like ECF where they can learn about battery safety and ohms laws. Then also there is the B&M's who only know "clouds bro" and sell people gear like tube mods and rda's without ever bothering to explain battery safety or ohms law. I was recently in a B&M and a couple older than me was shopping looking to get into vaping. The sales guy was showing them RDA's. Me having the personality that I am started chatting with them and pulled out my STM and vaped a bit. They eventually bought a couple Nano subtanks, one for him, one for her and a couple 30 watt mods. The salesman was giving me dagger looks which I ignored. He cared less about their vaping journey and wanted to sell them things they had no business having as new vapors because that made him more $$$.

I have a friend that I just cant get too. First a B&M sold him the wrong starter equipment(Clouds), so know he just keeps buying and selling trying to find whats right for him(Instead of making what he has work for him).. He knows NOTHING about Ohms Law, Batteries, Resistance, etc.. He bought a Sig 75 with a RDA (prebuilt Coils from B&M) about 2 weeks ago then sold it(Didnt like RDA juice leaking), Got a SnowWolf V1.5 LE and is still sticking to his TFV4.. Yesterday he tags me in Instagram saying he wants this Certain Mech mod, I didn't reply, then he sends me a picture of an "Exotic Coil Build" and I'm still not replying. He wont listen to me and research anything on his own... Have tried and tried and will not be a part of it when he does something stupid.. And I have helped him out a lot with Vaping as is, at least I got some great batteries for his Box Mods lol..

Sorry am very tired, felt like ranting about this but just cant seem to type it all.. lol I need more time to Calm Down from Today...

I'm pretty sure, after almost a year, I'm only on my fourth of 60 shiseido pads. Easy to work with, excellent wicking, and only get the "cotton" flavor if I use too much. Definitely worth the ~$10

Someone PIFed me a small supply of both KGD and Shiseido, about, hmm.... Jan or Feb of this year... still got most of the KGDs, but have almost used up the Shiseido -- but then, I have to rewick about every-other day. Still got 2-3 full pads, and they do last a while, with the tiny strips that are cut for wicking, and then splitting the strip in half, so I won't need to buy it for a while. I get only the FAINTEST cotton taste, for the first hit or two, then nothing but vape flavor. :thumb:

Yeah, I'm horribly lazy about rewicking. I think the longest I've gone is three weeks.

I like having B&M's around but they do aggravate me badly. Mostly younger guys who just want to sell and are really clueless about other aspects of vaping besides "cloudz bro". Was talking with the owner of one B&M and he gets it, that there is more to vaping than clouds but he isnt around the store too much and his employees are younger college kids who know nothing about tanks. I asked one of them about a few tanks and i had the feeling I was speaking a strange language to him. The store is part of a national vape chain so I was at first surprised but it didnt take long to realize these youngsters was never real smokers and are cluless what people need to get off the stinkys. Only thing they understand is what they use for vaping and I doubt if any of them have a real understanding on battery safety or ohms law.

Sounds like your friend is enjoying the hobby side of vaping more than anything. Instead of being frustrated with him, check out what he is doing and caution him as needed. As long as he isnt doing anything stupid that can blow up his face, let him have his fun.

I went into a B&M once, asked if they sold any Kayfuns and the kid replied whats a Kayfun? I said you know an RTA(Still has no clue) I told him its like the RDA he has but uses a Tank... He kept trying to sell me a STM.. Then I spotted an Orchid, he had no clue what it was and just said it was really old. I told him I would give him $8 for it and got it lol

Your right, I've been trying to keep him on Regulated Devices and Sub ohm tanks but if he goes to more B&MS and gets Mechs with prebuilt coils, or figures out you can buy just about any premade coil online, theres not much I can do till I know about it..

Yeah, one mainstream B&M here has a GREAT Manager, but if hes not there and just the college kids are working.. look out!! lol

I have gone a lot longer than that! Certain tanks only get certain juices so as long as it still taste good and is wicking fine, I dont see the point in changing it. Was thinking to myself earlier today that both my Crown and TFV4 coils are over a month old now and maybe time to change them. The wick in my velocity that I squonk with is going on 5 weeks now :D

I look back very fondly to that Virginia I used at first -- I made my very first coil in my T3S last about 3 wks! That was some very clean ejuice! But since I switched over to sweet flavors, I have to rewick/dryburn a lot more often; the blueberry muffin is cleaner, I could even use it in cartotanks, so maybe a week between rewicking in a regular atty even when I was vaping it constantly, but with this strawberry & cream I've had for my ADV since about mid-December, the gunk problem is off the charts, really the main reason I was trying out so many RDAs, because using it in a Kayfun was causing a LOT of wasted juice. Really glad I found the Achilles; it holds 2.5ml, so I don't have to drip constantly, and it doesn't leak as the Magma always does, and the most I ever waste is maybe a few drops from the bottom of the well, when it gets dark and gunky. It's ideal for me and this very gunky juice.

I usually vape 3 or 4 different flavors every day, all in the same RDA so after a week or so I get a little too much overlap in flavors. That's usually because I don't always vape it dry before switching flavors.

You can guide him and suggest to him but always keep in mind it is his vaping journey. He is already on the path so the best you can do for him is to be that cautionary guy that lets him know about ohms and batteries. Dont let him do a .1 ohm build with batteries that cant handle it and explain to him why this is a stupid idea. If he is able to install a pre-built coil and wick it then it wont be long before he tries to build his own coils. Thats when your advice and guidance will be needed the most.

I just think it's interesting, and instructive; a lot of my coils are kinda messy looking, but seeing all you advanced coilers' efforts gives me something to aim for, in terms of "visual appeal."

I think that's another thing I really like about the "bowed-in" coil; it looks a little more as if I actually meant it to look like that, than my messy spaced-wrap flat coils. :D

Some people are more afraid of the internet than anything real. I have no idea why, but a lot of folks seem to be afraid of COMPUTERS, as if the computer is gonna slap them or something if they do something dumb, instead of generally giving the equivalent of "bad command or filename."
