Friend passed away last night :( Funny thing is he was awake and the docs let his wife see him in ICU for a few minutes and their last conversation was she told him "no more sex for you" and he said no no no no meaning yes there will be! A little while after that he passed away.

My condolences @chopdoc very sorry to hear that

We really dont want the mod womper thread to die out so yall get active a bit more.

Ok. I finally tried out making a different kind of coil; instead of 7 wraps 29ga, I made 8 wraps 28ga, and will need to set the wattage a little higher, to offset the slower heating of the 28ga.

No particular reason; just felt like trying something different, see how it vapes. I've got this spool of 28ga that was just going to waste. It'll still be a tootle puff, because even with higher wattage, pretty sure I won't go over 11w.

Just slowly waiting for 3 RTAs and an RDA to arrive...

In the meantime I have cycled the FeV VS (0.8Ω @ 20W) back into circulation and built a new KFL nano (1.4Ω @ 15W) from parts!

I like the looks of the Squape but to me it screams "kayfun" draw and I dont like a tight air draw.

I been really enjoying the larger 28 - 30 mm RDA's. This morning Im vaping Some Blueberry Cinnamon Crunch DIY on a Tibet IGO-W 15 on a tube mech. This RDA has plenty of room to build a tri coil in it and holds a good amount of juice.

I've been vaping with my new coil this morning, and I have to say... why did I think 28ga was so much slower to heat? It doesn't seem that way to me now, and it's even got an extra wrap over my 29ga coils. Tells me something good about my CF4s, I guess; when I tried 28ga before, I think I was using my Sigelei Zmax -- maybe it's something to do with the power modulation?

Anyway, the new coil measured 1.6Ω when I first made it, but now in a working atty, it's reading about 1.35Ω, and seems just fine. With 1 extra wrap, slightly lower resistance, and slightly higher wattage (9.5w right now), it does seem to produce more vapor, and I'm kinda liking it; still a tootle puff, but more vapor, and it's not asphyxiating me, so maybe I've found a new "standard." :thumb:

Oh... and the slightly sturdier gauge did help a little, with making the "bowed" coil; it was actually more stubborn about taking that shape, but study enough that I was able to fiddle with it a lot without totally deforming the coil. I still have a hard time with getting the top of the coil to separate without also separating the wraps at the bottom. My ceramic tweezers helped a lot. I need something ceramic to park under the coil, to make the bowed shape while firing. Right now using the same 3/32 drillbit under it, to make the bowed shape, so obviously I can't fire the coil while that's parked under it.

Going from 29 to 28, I didnt think you would notice any difference at all. Even at 1.35 it would be very slight in the way the draw and inhale would feel. But also Andria your lungs been healing for over a year now and even tho they will never be what they was before the years of smoking, with the year of healing your now able to handle more vapor.
When I first started vaping after 40 years of abusing my lungs I was not able to do any kind of vaping other than tootle puffing. It took me 3 or 4 months just to be able to MTL an RDA. It took me 10 months just to be able to lung hit. Now with over a year I only lung hit and can handle any RDA I ran across. With your progress you should be able to do about any kind of vaping you want now.

If you find a scissor sharpener like this at a department or discount store then you could take the ceramic rod out and put that under your coil to fire it without worry.

You're right that it doesn't *seem* much different from the vape I was accustomed to since probably April-something, when I first got the Achilles, and the vapor isn't all that much more in quantity, but a little, and a little thicker; I've also gone from 85% PG to 84% recently; again, not a big change, but my lungs do seem to be coping with vaping pretty well these days. You know I briefly took a higher-steroid-dosage Advair, then I got sick with that awful sinus infection, and dropped back to the 250/50 Advair, but made an effort to just vape less -- which wasn't really that hard, which surprised me. I seem to have *somewhat* emerged from the period of extreme asthmatic distress, and you're probably right, it was a healing period. I'm sure my lungs will continue to improve, the longer I go without smoking, but after 15.5 months, I'd say it's fair progress. I wonder if decreasing nicotine and WTA makes the vapor easier for my lungs to deal with?

From everything I read and understand, no it wont do anything one way or another if you cut back or not. I really cant say about the WTA's for I seen no research on them but vaping in general with diktones and nicotine and all that stuff is still %95 safer than smoking according to the British Minister of Health and I dont think they would make such a claim without having reviewed far more data than what we the general public have seen.
Nicotine by itself isnt bad for you. I seen a couple pulmonary doctors interviewed (youtube has it) where they admitted nicotine by itself is no more harmful that caffeine. Thats why I have no real desire to go below the 3 to 4 mg I am using now. Thats not to say nicotine is totally harmless for a surgeon told me that nicotine from smoking slows the healing process by restricting the capillaries which means less blood flow at an incision site but I am willing to take that risk :)
All I know is I am a thousand times better than when I smoked. I dont pant out of breath anymore just from walking. My chest doesnt rattle anymore and I dont hack up gobs of mucus anymore from my lungs. Life is good! :D
