I just started rewicking the Subtank OCC's and for my first few attempts I think I wasn't putting enough cotton. The cotton slid very easily through the coil. It didn't pop, but it sizzled loudly and juice started leaking into the AFC. I rewicked today and increased the width of the cotton strip by about 50 percent. Cotton wasn't too tight but it was a little more snug in the coil. Will see how well that does.

Why not just use the rba deck? Its one of the easiest i ever built a coil on.

So tomorrow I am going to drink a can of Red Bull and a pot of coffee then do a few coils builds, hopefully I will have success!

I'm trying that myself... done 4 so far... 2 with too much cotton (burnt hits), 1 with too little (flooding, leaking), and finally 1 that was close but not quite there. I thought this would be easy, but after watching countless videos and trying to replicate what I saw, I found that it takes a bit of trial and error. I guess I'll get there eventually.
Are you poking the tails into the holes or leaving them out a bit?

I'm sure it's harder to get right in a tank what with the wick feeding from that tank, but in drippers there is a large range of how much cotton you can stuff into a coil and still get a great vape. I don't remember his name right now but there's a guy who wets his cotton and compresses it when putting it in. I saw the video, tried it and it works. Well. Really surprised me because I always thought you shouldn't use too much or you would get burnt hits.
The sub tank likes far more cotton then I would have put in any other build.... But I've gone over to rayon now :p

Really? It looks so small.

I don't have a subtank, but from pictures of the RBA deck I think it's a pretty standard Kayfun type which should have plenty of room to work with. My favorite atty for the Reo Grand is a Cyclone. Here's a picture of it. The deck is 13mm diameter, 1/2". I use dual coils in that space and though it looked a bit daunting at first it's really no harder to do than using bigger decks, it's just different.

I started with cotton and liked it. When I was getting a temperature protected mod I bought a box of KGD and decided to experiment with it in my Kanthal builds for a while to get to know it. For me it's turned out to be just as good as rayon. I still have two lifetime's worth of rayon on hand though

I have built 3mm 10 wrap 26 awg coils for it and still had plenty of room for wicking. What makes it so easy is the wire slips between the screw and the screw housing sides and eliminates the need to be careful how you hold it or wrap it around the screw. Once the screw head is below the top of the side pieces the wire cant come out.

In my real-life circles of family and friends, if you have less than 3 nicknames, you're doing something wrong. All of mine are based off of "katt" but my favorite is "Kattastrophic"

So I'm good with womprats as a nickname, as long as we don't try to replace the official name of modwompers.

So....

"Now ECF has got the 'wompers
And they've been known to wick a coil or two
Lord they crack me up so much
They pick me up when I'm feeling blue
Now how about you?"

Kattastrophic... :w00t:

Well i guess i'm doing something right then!
You could say i've 3 nicknames, sleezy being one of the rare ones though. :) (No not sleazy :p )
SleeZy i made up ages ago for a game and then got stuck with it. Before i even knew that there was a similar "not so good word" sounding similar to sleezy.

Others would be milko and mike. :)

Oh look, another group full of fun and good times... :w00t:

Can I bring my Kayfun, Flashi and Gennys over here to play?

I do have a Mutation X V3 and a CCI Militia for the times a foul juice needs to be used up and it's not worthy of a tank. I'm cheap too, so adding a little more VG to said juice will make it disappear into the clouds. :D

A little Mut build I usually use...

But I am also a big fan of Mesh and Ekowool over Mesh.
