When they are looking kind of like this, and the beans have made a thickish gravy on their own, then they are just about ready.

A lot of people I know will cook beans until they are just starting to get soft and call that good but we usually cook them until the have cooked down into a gravy consistency while still having beans in them. Put a big ole spoonful of rice in a bowl and ladle some of this on top of it and enjoy! To make a pot of beans like this is probably 6 to 8 hours in a crock pot on high.
Droool...

hog don't need any help. just slow smoke it over a hickory or apple wood fire and it's perfect by itself:thumbs:
I like to pressure cook a loin section. Let it drain good and put it on the grill and start pouring on the BBQ sauce.
The pressure cooking ensures no under cooked pork and opens up the grain in the meat to suck the BBQ sauce in well.

I thought a few times of taking either a pork or beef roast, injecting it with marinade like we inject turkeys, let it sit for 12 hours or more then throwing it on the pit and slow cook it over a fire. In theory, it sounds good :D

Gaaaaa!!! Blasphemers!!!

A good chunk of pork needs no adulterants.

Pork shall be slow cooked with some applewood.

From the book of Boden 220*F:9h

Edit: Unless you are using that nasty cheap saline injected abomination "pork" they sell in grocery stores. In that case the harm is already done.

Rouses, are ya serious lol

One of our pilots lives in the quarter (thats New Orleans French Quarter to yall) and brought down a real King cake Friday. It was gone in a flash.
Say what you want, but Rouse's has good king cake. Dang, it's expensive to live in the quarter. My sister's in Kenner. And I've got more cousins in Metairie.
Great day to all!

Tearing out lath and plaster walls to insulate, add some electric and hang sheet rock.

L&P is some nasty stuff.

My house was built in 1890 but I found a newspaper from 1922 today. I'd like to find about a brazillion dollars so I could hire somebody to finish.

All my vape stuff is in storage except a bag of rayon and I have juice for a couple months.

I miss my little vape world.
