The FeV V3 was interesting until I found out about the mesh. Seems like a big PITA to deal with. Heard the flavor is excellent, though.
The only mesh in the FeV is the feeder wicks that rest on top of your regular wick. You just roll a couple of 7mm wide mesh straws to act as the bridge from the tank to your wick. They don't have to be oxidized or anything else, just rolled and put in the holes. You don't even need to change them when changing flavors, just a quick rinse while they are installed works fine. The FeV V3 was interesting until I found out about the mesh. The flavor and ease of use of the FeV is incredible you can fill it in seconds and rewick it in a minute without having to drain the tank. Pull the tank off and you have full access to the deck.
This one has a little too much rayon in it but I had picked it up that morning from the post office and built it at work on my break. You can see the little mesh tube sticking out of the tank on the left.

Then you pick up a glass tank kit for it and the FeV is a one fine looking bit of gear!

Basically an Auto Dripper with the tank on top.How strange.. 2 stage wicking...
Andria, you'll still be good to go. Set the temp to whatever is comfortable for you and the wattage is just used to get it to that temp. If the temp is set to, say, 400F then it will only get to 400F (well, more or less) whether you use 30W or 60W or anything in between. The 60W will just get you to temp faster. I think I explained that correctly.
Oh and hi all
eer yes and no. It all depends on the temp you set. The Evic VT minimum wattage setting is 30 watts but if you have the temp set at say 400 F then watch it in a mirror while you vape, the wattage stays around 20 while your vaping. That wattage setting is for the max wattage during the vape cycle. When you initially hit the fire button its going to send 30 watts to the coil but that will drop as your inhaling the vape. When temp protection kicks in because its going over your set temp, I seen it drop to 1 watt.
Start with a lower temp and keep working up until you get the same warmth as you get with your current setup.Ok... but how do I know what my "preferred temp" is? I currently vape somewhere between 8 and 10 watts, at the moment on a coil that's 1.7Ω... obviously that's not very warm, but how do I know what that temp is, so I can set it for that?
Andria
There is no "delay", as you vape, there mod regulates to keep temp at its settings. It keeps your vape "where you want it to be" on the fly, far better then any VW mod can. The drop to very low wattage is only seen when you are firing but not drawing on the atty.... Where that low wattage is all that is needed to maintain the set temp....take a draw and the wattage will jump back up. In fact, if you have your preheat wattage set higher then you would normally vape (like the min. 30 watts for Andria) you will get you "where you want it to be" far quicker then you are accustomed to

No, no cotton burningSounds good... but it won't burn the cotton wick, will it? Because I am NOT using rayon, period.
Andria

NoooooooI usually have to use the pliers
Nooooooo
Pliers are sacrilege, you will have to pack that up and send it my way for proper love and care...
In all seriousness though it's Titanium and shouldn't mark that bad.
I use one of Qorax's excellent tips and apply a little lip balm to the o-rings on all my atty's before I assemble them. He has a Burts Bee's that he uses but I could not find any without a smell or flavor. So I use a Nivea Active Care for men, this doesn't have any shine, flavor or smell to it.
For Men Active Lip Care - NIVEA
Makes getting things apart a lot easier, and with the o-ring lubed up you don't have to put tops or tanks together that tight to get a good seal.
The eVic's temp range is 200F-600F. Start somewhere in the middle, lets say 400F at 30W. Give it a whirl and decide if you want cooler or warmer. Adjust the temp, leave the W alone and try again. Wash, rinse, repeat until you get the performance you want. The device won't indicate temp in power (vw) mode so you're just gonna have to pick a starting point randomly. 400F is fairly cool for me but I Vape at higher wattage than what you posted you Vape at. 350F might be a better starting point.Ok... but what does "lower temp" actually mean? 300 degrees? 400? 500? I don't have a SINGLE CLUE what temp I like, so I have no idea how I will set it -- if I can't figure something out about that, then I don't see a lot of point getting it -- won't it tell you what the temp actually is, if you're vaping in vw mode?

The main thing that grabbed me was when USMC mentioned how helpful it was with his kayfun that has no clear segment -- can't see when to refill, but the TC lets him know because there's less/no vapor -- same deal with my Achilles, I need something to let me know when it needs juice, because checking it constantly is for the birds! It's really hard to get that top cap to start turning, I usually have to use the pliers, because there's just nothing to grab onto for sufficient leverage to make it start turning. If I only had to remove it when it REALLY needed juice instead of every hour just to check, I'd be a lot happier. Or if someone made a clear tank for the Achilles!
I really wish they'd make these things for people with normal-human sized hands! And normal-human strength!

Perhaps something like this?

The Kitchen Kahuna, available on amazon for about $10
Very true, just trying to protect your finishesThat would work.. but it's $10, and I already have pliers, right here in the kitchen drawer.
Andria
Very true, just trying to protect your finishesI don't have one of those, if I need extra leverage/grip, I tend to just put on a nitrile/latex glove.
