OK this is really, really, really preliminary. I swapped out the o-ring on top of the base that the air/juice control slides over. I looked in the bag of goodies included with the Boreas and found one that is slightly thicker. Now this is just the first tank so I will need to fill this a couple of times and see if that stops the leaking. I'll get back to you guys later on after a few tank fulls to see if this corrects the problem.

Check your deck where it slides into the chamber. The deck has a raised notch that fits into a recess of the chamber.

The bottom cap will actually fit on it if it is not lined up correctly. Mine was not lined up correctly on both the decks that I used and I didnt leak but that is not to say its not what is causing your leaking problem.

BTW Grimmgreen gave the Boreas a bad review today. The peeps from that other forum slammed him so hard he shut off any further comments on his review :lol::lol::lol::lol:

Update: Boreas O-Ring Change
So far I'm on my 3rd tank and no leaking what so ever. Dry as a bone! Not even when I change the airflow. No juice in the holes at all. I'm not calling this the solution yet but it is looking like it could be. More time will tell. I'll keep going with this (I haven't picked up another RTA since I got it!). I think if it works through tomorrow then maybe this might be the answer.
That's great news !

For me it's not so much a leak. I would say more like seepage from the tank section into the airflow section. That's why I replaced the o-ring. It is doing a lot better after 4 tanks so far but I want to go a little longer before I say this is it. I use the top fill and 50/50 juice.
Yes, I shouldn't of used the word leak so much either, seepage is better :)

I meant to ask you this before and forgot - what's Vape Wizard? Some kind of enhancer? I'm not sure I've ever heard of that, to be honest...
It blends flavors together more, used in mixed fruits a lot, I have no idea how it works though ha.

I am surprised yall are having problems with the Boreas. I have used both decks already, one with a clapton build and today I made one with a 24ga kanthal build. Wicked the Clapton with rayon and the Kanthal with plain old cotton and neither one leaked a drop. I have been only bottom filling so that might be it, I donno. The only thing I find odd is it doesnt seem like the bottom cap screws on all the way, yet it dont leak a drop so its not a real issue to me. I am running max VG in mine yet the juice I am vaping at the moment and on the third tank of is 78VG/22PG.
Not really problems but the juice getting in the air holes a bit annoys me, along with the filling method. It just doesn't work as good as the Aromamizer, apart from that it's a great tank. It's no surprise the VU hounds attacked Nick, you come to expect it from them tbh. I don't agree with his review either but there is just no need to do what those VU thugs do, they couldn't have a normal conversation if they tried. I guess that's why they belong over there....

I really like your review @Rixsta

Alright... I have the Boreas and the Supreme. Here's my $.0000003545 after taxes.

Filling the Supreme is easier, but building the Supreme is not. The deck is 2/3 the size of the Boreas.

JFC and AFC vs. Combined: Using the two decks in conjunction with the combined FC - Bigger holes for higher wattage or thicker juice and smaller holes for thinner juice or lower wattages - works better than the one deck fits all approach, but it takes some planning...

Not swapping out any drip tips and just running as they came out of the box, the Boreas airflow kicks the Supreme all over the place. I get as much air on the Boreas half open as I do on the Supreme wide open.

At present, I prefer the Boreas... But I've only had the Supreme for a couple days. I will say that these are the only two tanks that I've ever bought mods for. I bought a Reuli DNA for the Boreas and a Reuli RX (in black and red) for the black Supreme.

The deck isn't much smaller... I can still fit my 7 wrap Claptons in it so, big enough for me. The Supreme drip tip destroys the airflow because of how small the bore is, changing it brings the Supreme to life.
But your right, the Boreas is great, just personal preference, Emma prefers it too but then she doesn't mind a little juice in the holes.
And welcome to the mad house ;)

For the most part people simply disagreed with him, of which I was one of them. He edited his review after I mentioned he forgot to bring up the two decks that comes with the Boreas. One guy went too far and I dont support that. But to blame it all on VU isnt right either. I believe all but 4 from the womper room is over there as well as here so your also speaking about them also when you make a blanket statement like that bro.

Here you go. I posted this in a couple of contest threads so a lot of people have this recipe already.
Butterscotch (TPA)
6
Caramel Candy (TPA)
4
Cotton Candy
1
French Vanilla Deluxe (TPA)
2
Vanilla Custard v1 (CAP)
7
Kind of like a Butterscotch Werthers
I am still working on the cobbler. The peach part is good and the sweetness is there, just need to get the cobbler part to shine a little more.

Made 4 test batches of this today with the exception that I used one drop of sweetner per 15 ml in place of cotton candy which I dont have. One batch each of FW, Inawera, Hangsen and Fa butterscotch. Was able to give it an hour and a half hot speed steep in my ultrasonic cleaner before that broke :(
Been vaping them in the Boreas with a dual 24 ga Kanthal build, cotton wick at 70 watts and they all are good but so far the Hangsen is the best.

been showing off my new coil everywhere :p
I call it "vape squared"
d39a3753218b5a8779c801e1b18f4e38.jpg

It gets its square appearance by starting out with a dual strand twisted wire (24 gauge in this case) and hammering flat, which creates "holes" in the wire
c5c3c8f04e8458003047a028ce9befdf (2).jpg

Then, you find the right size mandrel to wrap on that will give you a squared off coil
(the tighter the pitch of the initial twist, the smaller the mandrel), this one was 2.4mm.
Comes in at .44 ohms, and vapes like a dream....flavor on par with claptons.

I have been paying attention to aligning the build deck into the base. I will pay closer attention today. Everything was good with the slightly thicker o-rings except I forgot to close the tank off when I went to bed last night and now this morning I have some seepage. I think that in this case it's my fault for leaving it open overnight. I'm going to clean it up again this morning and try again. Hopefully I will remember to close off the juice tonight. It does seem to correct the problem for me.

I really love the airflow on this thing. I keep them wide open(4 holes) and close them down to 3 holes occasionally. I don't mind the seepage too much but I would prefer it to work without it. Maybe I need to make thicker juice? I have not used any other RTA since. I tried using my Goliath V2. I had it wide open and it felt like I was sucking through a straw! I will keep experimenting till I get this problem fixed.

Glad you like it. The cotton candy (ethyl Maltol) also adds a little dryness that helps with the throat hit. I have left it out completely and didn't notice much difference;)

I went to see his review and couldn't find it, he must of pulled it. I hope not, because what kind of reviewer will not stand behind his own review. I was curious as to what he liked and did not like as I am still on the fence about whether I want one in my lineup.

With all due respect, that is insulting to many of the people in this thread. I spend some time there, as do many from this thread, and for the most part what I see is respectful conversations. In the comments on the review, the majority of people disagreeing with him were respectful about it. There were only a couple people that went overboard and behaved like :censored: and I don't even know if the main :censored: is over there. try not to generalize so much next time.
    Sincerely,

For the most part, his negative comments were about the flavor being muted. I don't have one myself, but I have yet to see anyone else make the same comment so I kind of take that with a grain of salt.

There are events over the last few days that have made me angry, things that would bring your jaw to floor but I can't ever discuss and I am deeply saddened by it all.
But with that aside, you are right and I apologize, to blame the whole of VU was a stupid statement..
    Hands held up, my sorry....

But, at least you acknowledged that perhaps an alien counterpart of your family "could" have met him, right? :w00t: Hey, it's just a question. hehehe
Doubt it since I have been the only Beta Triangulan on Earth for the last half dozen centuries or so.

The higher the wattage the more muted the flavor in the Boreas according to several reviewers. But the flavor is still great for a massive cloud machine of a tank. imho the flavor mutes in a dripper if really pushed for clouds as well.

Just reporting on reviewers comments. Have watched all the reviews on the Boreas that I have found so far. Well I did not look for Rip's review :D If he has one.
One also reported some tendency to leak if in pocket.
I personally do not own one yet. Too much wompin for me ;)

I pulled a bone head move with mine last night and forgot to close the juice valve when filling it from the top. Had a good little mess to clean up, but once it was clean, no more problems. Both decks i wicked exactly the same way. Pulled it thru until it was snug but able to slide and then trimmed it even with the bottom of the outside of the deck and then tucked the tails down. Havent had any problems at all like the weepage your getting and I leave the juice control wide open at all times. I only had mine a couple days now so will see this week if any problems begin but so far I am very impressed with it. I never been a huge fan of drippers because to me the flavor was always muted compared to a tank but the Boreas build is exactly like a dripper and the flavor I am getting is excellent.

Here's a thread on ECF about VW and Magic Mask. Not long only 2 pages.

MTS vape wizard vs. TPA Smooth

OK, from what I'm reading, the Vape Wizard is best used with tobacco flavors because it has a "smoky" note to it. The one recommended for lighter flavors, or fruits, is Smooth, and I have some of that. I forgot I had it, but there's a bottle in my "toolbox." Now I can't remember what I was complaining about that caused the suggestion to try the Vape Wizard in the first place. Was it the pine sap in the "Funky Forest Pineapple" flavor? I need more coffee... I'll be back later when I'm coherent. ;)
