Usually I am not that much of a clutz but yesterday I went to pick up both an ipv4 and an IPV2 by the tanks attached to them with one hand and the IPV2 had my patriot on it so of course the top pulls off and I dropped both of them. On the bright side of things, my vapemail with the lemo's Pyrex glass shows up today. The replacement glass for the subtank should be here by Saturday and it is also Pyrex and plastic is a lot more durable than glass.
I have a CCI Militia (Patriot Clone) with the 6 holes on each side. It's quite the little beastie, not as good as the Mutation X V3 but still plumes very nicely and has a bit more flavor.

Also there is Vape mail sitting in my mailbox as we speak, this is going to be a looooong day for sure.

Glass tanks for my Kraken that I broke the first day trying to get the stock one off.
PMMA replacement tanks for my FeV VS that bad juice got a hold of and broke.
A top fill cap for my Kayfun 3.1 with the quartz nanao tank.

And the Big German!

Need to go home NAO! :w00t:

I find it odd that I use to not like RDA's and I am starting to love them. Even ordered a Mutation X.

When I finally got to the point that my lungs could handle an RDA I found it to be such a PITA to stop and drip ever couple minute but this week it seems I been using a dripper daily. Im rocking some pinapple on my Patriot today and some custard on my TOBH and not cloud chasing but enjoying them immensely at 30 watts.

I was unfortunate enough to try a Caterpillar as my first RDA... that is NOT a tootle puffer atty!!! I wouldn't touch another RDA for over 6 months... then I started reading about the great flavor in the Magma, so I got one, and whaddyaknow, I actually like it. But it's a leaky lil thing... then I got a Veritas and a Derringer; the Veritas, not too bad, but I understand that one really needs to use a lot more power with it than I can tolerate, for it to be great; the Derringer is hopeless for a tootler; it's got "mystery airflow" from somewhere, even when every airhole is blocked.

Then I started reading about the Achilles, so I got one... and found my bliss. Another member here read how much I loved it, and PIFed me a 2nd one, *and* a Prometey. The Prometey is ok, sort of a "rebuildable carto," but I haven't tried it yet with the fiberfill, just as a dripper -- same tight airflow as the Achilles, but I love the Achilles' deep well -- the Achilles has actually weaned me off my Kayfun obsession. :D

Nice, what Mutation did you get? The new X4 looks like a sweet little RDA with a pile of features.

I ran a Clapton in the Mutation at 70W once and it was really not for me, so between 30W and 50W works just fine.

The only turn off for the Big German to me is the restrictive airflow they say it has. But 10 ml of juice, WOW!
I can't see it being that bad, it won't be Rip Trippers "Wide Open", but by the vapor produced in Todd's review this will not be an atty for use in my apartment. Outside on the deck, in the car or at work etc... :vapor:

I can see this thing drinking the juice like it's free, so I'll start with a dual coil then probably switch over to a single.

I like it airish like the subtank mini is and from what that Big German thread was saying, if you like the Subtank draw then the Big German isnt for you. But am still curious.

Yep, ordered the Mutation X V4 and the Mutatin X V4 Indulgence. Both Clones.

You like a very tight airflow where as I like a very airish airflow. I was the same way, it took me at least 6 months to be able to use a dripper and I use to like the Magma but now it just seems like not enough airflow. Ever since I started using the subtanks and lung hitting, anything restrictive that needs MTL just dont feel right to me anymore. The odd thing is I was never a lung hitter. Even during the 40 years I smoked I didnt lung hit but with that subtank it was so natural it was like I been doing it forever.

I'm pretty sure that my asthma would prevent me from any lung hitting; I "lung hit" (hard!) my albuterol and Advair, and even those sometimes make me cough, and that's my medicine! :D

I'm just so glad I finally found an RDA that has a really tight draw, AND a big well -- because I find the constant dripping thing very tedious too; one of the reasons I decided to try out both the Magma and the Veritas was because of the deep well, though I found even every half-hour re-dripping rather tedious -- the Achilles' 2+ ml is a godsend! I just wish someone would come out with an accessory line for the Achilles -- clear tanks, colored tanks, etc. But those of us who like a really tight draw like that definitely seem to be in the minority, so I guess for "color matching" I'm limited to changing the driptip. Though I've given some thought to maybe going over the Achilles' laser etching with some white chalk... ;)

Haha I was the same way! I was having a discussion on making juice and attys and whatnot with forum member Sando7 a year or so ago, and brought up that I probably wouldnt ever get into drippers as my Protank 2 at the time seemed like it was "it" for me (it was the only tank I had tried after my Evods). Finally broke down and got a Magma after hearing all the raves about its flavor, but could never keep that thing from leaking on me so it went back on the shelf. Few months later I said screw it and got a Derringer to try out which totally changed the game for me. Its really hard to setup the Derringer for mouth to lung hits, but by the time I tried it, I was able to do lung hits with it and it was one of those "So THIS is what dripping is all about" moments. Between the Derringer and the Samurai Bonsai I have, I cant use my Kayfun 4s anymore they just dont cut it. Havent even touched one in almost 3 months now since the Bonsai showed up in the mail. One of these days Ill pick up the subohm kit and try one again, but I just cant deal with the lack of airflow anymore.. As flavorful as they were, they cant touch either of my RDAs as well. Those drippers definitely converted me to modwomping status.

Modwompers - at least those who tend toward the Tootle side of vaping.... MyFreedomSmokes, 50% off Ego batteries - HALFOFFBATT until July 27....

Anybody stocking for new converts, Ego blister packs for $4 with that coupon.....
I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for posting this! As a few folks know - I have been wanting to go back to my vaping roots and have been looking at ego style batteries to go with some of my tanks. This is the first time I can say WHOOHOO for procrastination! Picked up 6 egos (well why not at the deal) and I'm so excited they just shipped out this morning!

Thanks again!

I keep trying RDAs and my STM. I just don't get it. I don't think they work with a slow draw. If I gasp on them they work but I'm pretty sure that you shouldn't have to draw that much air to get them to work.

Ideas?

That all depends on the airflow of the RDA. If its got big airholes, or slits like the Bonsai, yeah you really gotta pull on it. The Magma has a pretty restrictive airflow though, you can lung hit it but its really not made for it, its more along the lines of a Kayfun style atty. The Derringer has 3 holes on each side of it (for single or dual coils) and you can close it off to just 1 or 2, but even then, it still doesnt quite work for mouth to lung hits very well. They just wanna be ripped.

Dripping is for people that still need more fidgeting with their hands. For a long time I thought dripping would be a PITA until I figured that out!

I also use STMs and think that each is a different tool for a different job. Like driving. I drive a stick and there is no way I can eat a Big Mac, with a coke in the other hand, and refill the dripper while shifting gears. At night. While Txting. During the day I can deal with it :)

Not really :) At least I won't admit it....

That's what I'm finding out. I like long slow drags that are really saturated using 16mg/ml 60pg/40vg. With the STM I had to dilute my eliquid with vg down to 8mg/ml 30/70 to keep the throat hit from killing me. Then I remembered I don't like the heavy lung feel of high vg juice and the nic level wasn't cutting it.

Oh well, don't have to like everything :)

Or an Achilles... super saturated flavor, very tight draw. The TH can be rough, but I dropped from 10mg to 9mg, and started building my coils a bit lower, to make it not so rough on my throat.
