I keep it wide open but it is adjustable to just 2 tiny holes and is a very tight draw. On the smallest setting, a CE4 is more airish.

I'll second this. The STM is truly a one size fits all tank. @AndriaD I would be surprised if you could not find an AFC setting that works for you.

But would the rest of it? I just don't really like tanks anymore, all that vacuum-seal business. Even a Kayfun, it does that spluttering thing, and I find that I really dislike it. I just don't see any point in buying something that I'm at least 50% sure I wouldn't like.

Nice thing about the STM is it will give RDA performance with a 4 ml tank. Mine has yet to leak except when I didnt wick the RBA deck correctly. I modded all three of My STM RBA decks but the new ones are suppose to already come with holes in the side like the OCC heads do.

Look at it this way, its like having a magma with 4ml capacity. It actually out performs the Magma in my opinion.

Would a person who likes a tight draw need to do any of that "modding"? Because I absolutely WILL NOT use "bought" coils; I escaped that trap over a year ago and have no intention of jumping back into it. So I would strictly be using it as a rebuildable. I like a very tight draw; would I have to do anything to it?

If it has the new style deck that looks like this,
kangerminirbaplusmain400pxwm.png
No modding required. Even the old decks worked fine with up to %70 VG and if I remember right you dont like a lot of VG so the old decks would work fine for you. Now another plus, its the easiest deck that I built a coil on. The way they have the screw heads recessed makes all the difference in the world to me.

Yikes, to get the white one, it's $40! I think I'll stick with my Achilles and the <$20 RDAs I'm considering.

Yeah... and the fact that it's a Kanger is one thing that makes me so leery of it.... the old Kangers I used to use were just crap, no 2 ways about it -- leaking, dry hits, just all kinds of crap. I hated them, and since I went to Kayfuns, they've all been in a giant ziplock under my counter.

I was not a fan of the protanks, the T3S's or the MT3's that kanger made. Flavor was very muted in my opinion compared to a CE5 like the G5-H2's. But I love my STM's.

Even at the tightest airflow, the Subtank is too airy for mouth to lung. I couldn't really use the tank until I started doing lung hits.

Well, tanks have value. like when you're driving, a Big Mac in one hand, a soda in the other, texting, changing the music on your DAP and THEN you have to drip and change gears at the same time?

LOL. Different tools for different jobs. But I have to tell you, I actually prefer the flavor of my STM to my Troll dripper. And they both leak, from time to time, or regularly, depending on different things. The STM, for me, was sort of an RDA killer. I have trouble justifying my Trolls now. Except when they are clearly the better tool for some job, like driving or switch hitting juice and testing DIY concoctions. It is very possible I am doing something "wrong" and could get better performance from the dripper, and I am looking at other drippers. But the STM, for me, sets a very high bar. Very high.

That's what I love about the Achilles -- with 2-2.5ml in it, I can go out and about for several hours and not need a refill -- and it's VERY stingy on juice usage, so that 2-2.5ml actually lasts me longer than the same amount used to last in a T3S. But, because it has such a tight draw, I can understand why it's really not very popular, in today's vapeworld of massive airflow and lung hitting cloud chasers.

It's a tank killer to me, because of the lack of that vacuum-seal business (and I can fill it from the top without removing it from the mod); none of the burbling/spluttering crap -- and it NEVER leaks, if you don't overfill it. You can fill it to its max of 2.5ml, lay it down on its side overnight, and there is ZERO leaking. I always lay my mods on a paper towel when I go to bed, just in case; don't wanna wake up to a nightstand covered in ejuice! But I've never yet seen a single drop from the Achilles, from its overnight lie-down on my nightstand.

I am getting to the point that I just love RDA's. Have not been able to put the Troll down since I started using it last night but there is two things that aggravates me about them. They just dont hold enough juice and lay them down and they leak :(

Well then, THAT kills the idea completely.

Andria
I have to say that I strenuously disagree with jseah. My STMs, with the new and old AFC, both have draws plenty tight enough to do MTL. However, the newer STMs have a much smaller smallest hole. So even though there are now two holes (on opposite sides of the tube) the combined minimum draw is much tighter. It is like sucking on a mixed drink bar straw.

@AndriaD, assuming you have a *need* for a new tank, I think you should just try an STM, rather than try to wind your way through conflicting opinions. But make sure it has two AFC holes, one on each side of the topper. Could still be some NOS floating around.
