I am getting to the point that I just love rda's. Have not been able to put the Troll down since I started using it last night but there is two things that aggravates me about them. They just dont hold enough juice and lay them down and they leak :(

Yep, that was my gripe about the Magma, though I love it otherwise. That's why I jumped on the Achilles when someone was talking about it; the 2-2.5ml still isn't anywhere near the 4.5ml of a kayfun, but it's a lot better than the <1ml of a magma... and the never leaking, I figured that was too good to be true... but it never does. I guess if I held it upside down it might... :D

Yikes, to get the white one, it's $40! I think I'll stick with my Achilles and the <$20 RDAs I'm considering.

Andria

Take a look at the Nimbus V3 @ VapeNW. It's got two <1mm air holes, a nice sized 3-post deck (for building dual coils if you wish). It's a tighter draw (like maybe the 2nd air hole on my Nautis - I usually run those on the largest air hole.)

The well isn't nearly as deep as the Achilles, but I could hold about 8-10 drops (maybe 1/2 mL) before I had to reload.... $6 @ vapenw

I have to say that I strenuously disagree with jseah. My STMs, with the new and old AFC, both have draws plenty tight enough to do MTL. However, the newer STMs have a much smaller smallest hole. So even though there are now two holes (on opposite sides of the tube) the combined minimum draw is much tighter. It is like sucking on a mixed drink bar straw.

@AndriaD, assuming you have a *need* for a new tank, I think you should just try an STM, rather than try to wind your way through conflicting opinions. But make sure it has two AFC holes, one on each side of the topper. Could still be some NOS floating around.

Every one I've tried that has 2 holes, I wished i could find a way to block one of them. I don't think it's a thing I'd like at all.

When I say "tight draw", I mean something like a carto -- it's the closest I've found yet to the feel of drawing on a cigarette. Which I haven't smoked in nearly a year now, but 39 yrs is a long habit to break. :D

I never tried a carto and it's been a year since my last cig and I'm happy to say I don't remember the draw well enough to compare well. But I have to say my newer STMs (both of them) are amazingly tight on that setting. So this will have to remain a mystery if you've tried a newer STM and thought it was too airy on the minimum setting.

Authentic will run you about $60, but I have to assume a clone exists? (it's a Cyclone)

I think I have the only non leaking Magma in the world, lol! I've been using that thing for almost a year, and really don't have urges to try new RDAs. If people didn't send them to me, I wouldn't. Now I happen to like my 2 new ones, and if I had more Reos I would bf them. I hate filling them all the time.

Actually I have one that small, the Igo-S -- but it's really only useful for tasting, it's SOOOO small; I finally got tired of fiddling with it and put it away. Nowadays, if an RDA doesn't have a pretty deep well, I don't even look at it; I'm not going to drip every-other puff!

I've looked at the Nimbus, and it does look like a possible for me. At the moment, I think I'm leaning to that tugboat; the conical shape of the cap would probably give EXCELLENT flavor.

But really, I don't like the o-ring type caps; I vastly prefer the threaded kind. I'm really only looking at other RDAs because I'm looking for a white one, to go with my Evic, but if i don't find one that seems promising for my style of vaping that also has a threaded cap, I'll probably just stick with my Achilles. Only $20 now! :D :D :D

The Cyclone knocks the igo-S out of the park, but I won't deny the well is small. I think it's endured largely because it can be had in BF form, but even as a dripper it remains a favourite for me. Great for nights out where a little stick battery is needed.

Mine never did either. The only atty I've had that spit at me was the Plume Veil. I just figured I'm not good at building drippers because it spit at me a lot.

All RDAs spit at me, which is why I've started using the knucklehead driptips; it's the only way I've found to keep those hot spats off my lips.

I never really noticed the burbling in my kayfuns, except for the break-in of a wick, but it seems to be happening constantly with my favorite kayfuns nowadays. Maybe I was just impatient and didn't give the wick enough time to break in; my gold one, which has an older wick in it (I don't use it very much so it lasts longer), isn't burbling, so I dunno. Maybe my favorites would stop doing that if I kept vaping them and got the wicks really broken-in. But it's so tedious to keep vaping something that sounds and feels like it's boiling the whole time I'm hitting it, when I could just vape my Achilles that never does that.

Another acronym I've been seeing and don't know - bf ??

I assume it's similar to pif based on the usage I've seen, but until I know what it actually stands for it's hard to not read it as "boyfriend" lol

I do think that's weird your kayfuns are doing that. I don't know what to suggest.

I agree, very weird. But, I have some of my strawberry in both my favorites, so I'll hit that while I'm working on my 2 Achilles; I'm going to switch them after while, put a ti coil in the one that's currently kanthal'ed, and a kanthal coil in the one that's currently Ti'ed. So I'll hit the kayfuns while I'm working on that project, maybe i can get them past that spluttering stage.

I have a STM, not sure the vintage or revision but I can adjust the airflow band so no openings are visible. The draw is comparable to a CE-4 that is gunked up and drawing hard.

I was not impressed with it using kanthral compared to my highly modified Orchids for flavor or vapor. Then I won a evic TC (Thank You Heaven Gifts!!) and tried TC.

The STM has been performing very well with stock Ni heads, and the head seems to last forever. Might be because my DIY tends to be clear without any sweetener. I have some Ti heads on order, waiting for my vape mail.....:thumb:
