I did a good bit of googling and found some basic info on squonking but nothing to say how to mod an rda or where to get parts to build your own squonk box. Only really benificial info was linked to ECF. Everything else I seen is attempts to sell premade boxs or links to where they sell them.

Modding an atty for BF: An ECF thread with pics, and another. Have a look and I think you'll get the idea. All you need to do is make a juice path from the bottom of the atty to the deck. These two are done with files and Dremels. I prefer to drill holes but I have a drill press which makes that a lot easier than without. Here's Eddie's post on how to do that. I like that I can easily drill two outlet holes for juice, one on each side of the center post, because I almost always use dual coil builds.

Note that the Vmod uses an O-ring under the atty bottom surface to seal things.

I think he also sells just the 510 positive pins for his other connectors also. A little further down that page you'll also find a bottom feeder bottle kit and a rda BF conversion kit.

The box will be tricky but the rda's I have heard people have done it with a dremmel. Just need a hole through the 510 to the center pin and some drain holes on each side.

I modded my derringer with a hammer, a screwdriver, and a serrated knife. Tapped out the center post, filed a grove in the insulator with the knife, tapped it back in. It doesn't squonk as smoothly as I'd like, and it doesn't drain, but it works. I think if I make the groove bigger, and add another on the other side, it will work a lot better. I also put an oring around the bottom of the 510 of the derringer to make a good seal.

The one thing I am curious on the Ebay setup that I linked (and I did order one) was what is to prevent the juice from leaking between the box and the RDA. I didnt see any kind of seal where they mate up. (picture that I posted)

There is nothing in the mod itself that makes a great seal to the atty, the one that comes with it didn't have much leaking though because the juice holes line up, but it also doesn't drain at all, the juice comes out of the post holes and fills the well.

I also picked up a chalice III clone, and I love the way it squonks and is virtually leak proof, but the air flow is restrictive.

How do you like the Derringer, I have been thinking about grabbing one since I need another BF atty but am so attached to my Odin's. I'm a lung hitter and like an airy draw on dual .5's usually, think the Derringer may fit the bill?

I find it quite airy... even with all the holes covered, it's much too airy for me.

Sounds like I might like it, I am a fan of the low profile look as well. I am guessing I may get a little more flavor out of it vs. the Odin, the Odin's have a ton of room under that cap.

Some say the Derringer is very good for flavor... I just can't enjoy it with all that air. I'm thinking of using some black electrical tape (I have a black Derringer) on the holes that aren't being used, and just allowing a smidge of one hole to show.. kinda how I do the Veritas, just allowing a sliver of the single huge hole to actually be open.

I like a somewhat airy mtl hit, I use mine single coil with two of three air holes open on one side, so you might get the kind of air that you want out of it. It is a great flavor atty though. Seems like just the right amount of room for the flavor/vapor to develop without being so concentrated that it's overly hot and tangy.

I find it quite airy... even with all the holes covered, it's much too airy for me.

I do lung hits and MTL, depends on my mood, I use a short Kayfun style drip tip on it when I MTL, great little atty.

Good for you Roxy and way to go . The more I read about this RTA the more I want one. I've only tried one quad build in a Mutation X and I didn't find it worth it but I used more or less horizontal coils and that may be why.

Yeah you wont regret the Derringer! I WAS a MTL hitter until I got mine. The airflow made it so easy to take lung hits without hacking up a lung so I just went for it. The flavor on it is a knock out plus itll put out some serious clouds if you need it to. Ive said it before, it ruined me, I cant use my 5 Kayfuns anymore because they just dont cut it.
