OK yall, off topic but what is your opinion. Last November I went in for a hernia operation. Somehow during the 4 hour operation my intestines got cut, the surgeon missed it, and I was sent home that way. Before they released me was told I had an abnormally high white blood count. I go home and within 5 days I get deathly ill. Back to the hospital where they discovered my intestines was cut and I was septic. Over a month without eating, being fed by a tube in my arm and they decided to operate again. I flat out told them no colostomy bag, that I refuse it. Woke wup from the surgery with a colostomy bag. Get sent home again and within a week the incision is infected. Streams of puss was shooting out my belly for two feet. Back to the ER where I left a big puddle of puss under the wheel chair, they squeezed my belly around where the infection was coming out and got more than enough puss to fill a 16 oz coke bottle. Even I was amazed at how much infection was in me. Three more trips to the operating table just for the infection.
Long story short, over 50 days in the hospital, 8 times on the operating table during seven months. It was suppose to be one operation, six weeks recovery. Sick leave is all used up, vacation time is all gone for the year.
Now for the opinion part. Every one is telling me I need to go after the doctor for this yet suing goes against my grain. Everything I have I earned, and no one gave me anything nor would I ever take it. If it was yall, what would you do, sue even if it goes against your nature or be happy to be healthy again and move on.

Its more than just that, I can take the STM off the ipv4 and put it on the Evic and it vapes fine, put it back on the ipv4 and within a short time it is back to hot, cold, hot , cold. Its more a problem with the IPV 4 than anything but also does it occasionally on the Evic. With the Evic I can crank it up to 500 F, vape for a few minutes and then back to 430 and its back to a normal vape. Do that with the IPV4 and scorched hits every time. The problem is mainly with the IPV4, and for now its just easier to go back to kanthal builds. At the moment I am in the middle of my two week work rotation and if I was on my two weeks off, I would have plenty of time to play around with it and figure out exactly whats going on, but sadly they are paying me to work on helicopters, not atomizers and even when I tell them my vapes are just as important, they just dont get it.

Bet its because the ipv4 is a yihi chip, using pwm for temp control....it also probably uses a more aggressive approach to regulating temp

Yes, I would find a good lawyer, and sue both the doc and the hospital -- they're both liable. It's not my nature either, but after the hell they put you thru, because of sheer incompetence, they freaking deserve it and then some. Sue the hell out of them -- and get a good lawyer, because the lawyer's fee will come out of your settlement.

I would sue....not for financial gain, but to cover the costs of the botched care, and to highlight to the hospital how ineptly handled your procedure was.
The fact is, you being out of work costs you, so any time you are forced to be out of work beyond what the initial procedure would have caused...... Should cost THEM

FRIVOLOUS suing should be against one's nature, but being indemnified is acceptable and is why this option exists.

Take care of yourself, no one else will.

Get a good lawyer and let them do all future communications with the hospital.

Starting with the initial doctor, and with everyone following, each was negligent in his duty of care. Yes, medical costs are disgustingly high, mostly because doctors need exorbitant malpractice insurance, but you almost lost EVERYTHING....

Starting with the initial doctor, and with everyone following, each was negligent in his duty of care. Yes, medical costs are disgustingly high, mostly because doctors need exorbitant malpractice insurance, but you almost lost EVERYTHING....

The standard will be mods that can use either, some people prefer one over the other. As far as using resistance to regulate temp... The tech is plenty matured. That dna200 is as fine tunable as can be. Not to mention user updateable firmware.....well worth the cost
If I had known a dna200 would be released so cheaply this fast, I wouldn't have bought the arctic dolphin (still would have bought the brass nebula.... Cause it looks awesome )

I had part of my intestines removed 3 yrs ago and got a hospital acquired infection. I too am very "anti-lawsuit" so I kept blowing it off, just wanted to get better and get on with my life.

A year later, I was still struggling with the infection and learned that I may be struggling with it for the rest of my life. At that time, I started contacting lawyers. Well, Texas is not a good place to file a medical malpractice suit, unless it involves loss of life or limb. A lifetime of suffering does not matter. I had one lawyer barely nibble. I gave up and went back to trying to get on with life.

Now... still struggling. Barely keeping my day job (partly because of this, but I have other health issues too). And now wishing I had called lawyers until one took the case, because the statute of limitations has expired.

Bottom line - at this point you only know how this has affected your life thus far, you have no crystal ball to tell when/if/ or how severely this may affect you years down the road. Sue. Sue for all you can get. They seriously messed up and could have easily killed you. Lawsuits are the only thing that make them think twice about how they treat their patients.

I sure don't "like" that this happened to either of you, stupid incompetents are only practicing! But I totally, absolutely agree. After my appendectomy last summer, I got a secondary infection in the main incision (and excision) point, in my navel -- it was easily dealt with, though it required 2 wks of mow-em-all-down broad-spectrum antibiotics, but even that shouldn't have happened. For the kind of suffering you both have suffered, they should pay a lot more than just paying your bills and reimbursing for lost wages; there really should be punitive damages in there too, because death could have easily resulted in either case, and there was an ungodly amount of suffering going on, and perhaps still to come.

I have seen some concerns of Ni being safe - although the flame wars of diketones/DA/AP have been devouring some threads recently, there is a risk with lots of things - just looking for some opinions on the matter. If I'm buying a mod I will need some temp control wire to use and want a base to start at. Thanks for your input!

My input? I like em both, but Ti is easier to work with over all. When I use ni, I get the tempered ni200, so it's not to hard to work with either. I seem to get better flavor by a slight edge with ni in tanks like the sub tank.... But so far ti has been perfect in my kayfuns. So my advice would be wet your teeth on Ti for ease of use, but don't count out ni entirely.
