You can't build proper coils without a thorough grounding in String Theory.
AND... you can't lose your mittens if you use an idiot string.

Last night at work I got fed up and decided enough with the TC. Got real tired of my vapes going hot, cold, hot, cold. The Evic VT is the only one with Ni200 coil in the STM that will stay as TC, the rest are already back to normal Kanthal builds. Its mainly the IPV4's that are giving the temp chatter for the Smok M80 Plus was always TCing on a Kanthal build in the Lemo II and the Evic VT when it starts getting hot, cold, hot, cold, I could turn it up to 500 F for a few vapes and back to 430 F and it stopped giving bad vapes.
Yet its not a total waste, the IPV4's do great with drippers and I can vape my velocity RDA all day at 60 watts on them and the Snow Wolf can also be used for drippers. Maybe in the future I will try some titanium wire and see if it also has that problem.

Generally, if your temp is varying that much, the culprit is the liquid isn't wicking fast enough....as the wick catches back up, temp kicks up, wick starts to dry out, temp protection kicks in...over and over and over........ Even though tc will keep you from a nasty dry hit, ideal wicking is even more important on a tc mod to get steady performance.Last night at work I got fed up and decided enough with the TC. Are you kidding me...You can't build proper coils without a thorough grounding in String Theory. I'll let @Boden explain why, and how.
I been on a single flavor kick these last few months. Was doing a bunch of tobacco reviews in the DIY section and seen how great many flavors are as a stand alone and been stuck doing it that way for a while now. Vanilla's, Butterscotch’s, Mango, Tangerine. The most complex juice I mixed up in the last couple of months is when I added a touch of vanilla to some cherry cuban cigar flavor.![]()
Dont do it, it is crazy out there!!! Then someone starts screaming and they come at you with that real ugly jacket with the looong sleeves and buckles in the back.... save yourself, dont do it!![]()
Not as long as Fasttech! If I order a Mod from a distant galaxy and it is sent to me at the speed of light, how long does it take to make the journey?![]()
Without getting smacked in the face? I prefer to play Eschaton.
I thought so too until I started using a GS Air M and an Evod in TC on my SX Mini. They work fine with the rebuilt factory coil heads.FWIW IMO the single most important requirement for TC is rock solid connections.
Any variation in resistance that is not caused by the coil temp change ruins the vape.
YMMV

If you are using cotton, try a touch thinner then you are used to.
Oh, if you are using the kanger Ni200 occ coils, those are notoriously bad....i gave up on those, won't touch em.
My feeling is that TC is a great idea that technology has not yet caught up to. It will, eventually, but right now... not so much. But I'm really interested in that faux-TC from the SmokM80+. Though I've been less than impressed with various Smok attys, I do like their mods.

You are seeing it saturated..... While not in use..... I'm saying it dries out, causing it to cool off, then wick catches up, causing heat to pick back up.... This seems like what you were describing to me.The connections are good, checked them a few times.
I build my own coils on the RBA decks of the STM's and they are wicking fine. Took it apart a few times to see and they stay saturated. I use both Rayon and cotton, all depends whats closest to me when I am building or re-wicking.
I believe you nailed it Andria, we are on the ground floor of TC and the technology of it just isnt there yet.
I like the M80 Plus but am shying from recommending it to you because our vape styles are so different. I like a very airish vape that produces good clouds where you like very little airish vape and me being able to determine that my tank is empty by reduced performance without a dry hit might be in part from the way I vape. I would hate to say "yeah, this would be great for you" like I did with the Evic VT just to see you be disappointed again. I am trying one of my STM's on it now to see what it does when the tank runs dry and will let yall know. So far I only tried it on the Lemo II.
I've tried variations of lemon (TFA Lemon and Lemon/Lime) and for the life of me, I can't keep the juice from clouding. Also, I find that after a day or two, I start to get a weird after-taste - can't describe it, but it's not a true "lemony" flavor.... I've tried mixing all my flavorings (PG) first and then adding my VG elements. My nic is VG-based, and my "filler" is all VG, so the only PG comes from the flavors. Thoughts? TIA
