Told ya... it's jewelry. :D Looks like a lady's watchband. :D

I have no doubt it will vape about as well as a watchband.

After making all these silly coils I can say without a doubt that they are a step back from a normal spaced or contact cool.

I can understand how spending a lot of time making these would have a strong bias effect on the person who makes one. Eather that or they realize it is no better but like to punk people.

The worst offenders are the ones with a lot of airspace and wire away from the wick. You get a lot of hot air and a bit of vapor.

One day at a time is a good attitude for pretty much everything, I've found... But the very best idea I've ever encountered in one of those meetings was "Just do the next right thing." It seems to be working pretty well. :D

Thats the way I look at the missus nagging. I dont have to deal with it to my dying breath, only have to deal with it one. Day. At. A. Time.

I really never seen the benefit of all these fancy coils. Yes, they look cool as can be but whats the point. Maybe for some cloud chunker who is vaping 200+ watts but for the vast majority of vaping, I just dot see it. The smokless owl RDA that came on the Terminator Squonker I got has a twisted wire fancy dual coil in it and in my opinion its too much coil for a single 18650 mod.

Agreed, I do like the rope twisted 32awg I made. Only because I have 500 ft of it that I bought 4 years ago and need to use up :)

Hmm, now I know how I can get rid of all that 30ga and 32ga sitting uselessly in the drawer. :D

Excellent job on that Stapled Clapton!

5 wraps on a 4mm mandrel should clock it in around 0.09 ohms. The Twisted Messes RDA has 2.8 mm post holes and a good parallel 26650 mechanical box would bring it to life very nicely.

Much Flavor, Much Vapor!
And a metric F-ton of heat.

If I buy 500 f t of wire i am building a very large antenna in my back yard. Current one is 290 ft long. Can I transmit on kanthal. Woodhippy is now thinking
Not sure what effect Kanthal wire would have on transmitting as in an antenna. Never considered that.
Prolly more impact with the higher the transmit wattage?
Got me though.

Yeah I bet A kilowatt into kanthal would be interesting to say the least. But at 2 watts maybe

I disagree...the Clapton coil is one of the best flavor builds I have ever used

Surface area, Power and Juice consumption are directly proportional.
Which is why all the cloud guys carry those 500ml drip bottles...
I wonder why flat wire isn't more popular. It was quite the rage when Genesis attys were hot stuff.

I've used a clapton coil, didn't notice a flavor difference,I did notice that it produced a lot of hot air and that it was slower to ramp up because of the added mass.

The problem with adding surface area to a large diameter wire is you are also increasing the amount of wire that only has air contact. you would be better off with a bunch of small wires all in parallel covering the same area of wick.

I made this really fast so it's not pretty but I think demonstrates the idea
