Exactly this... The way I vape is totally tootle territory... but I enjoy the coil-building aspect, though it seems that a lot of tootlers are also "blister packers". So I hang in here too, for chatter about vaping methods that go far beyond anything I can actually vape myself, just because it's interesting.

I got into coil building for 1) self-sufficiency -- no more waiting around on that sluggardly mailman to BRING ME MAH coils! and 2) economy -- much cheaper to buy wick and wire and do it myself, though I also bought a nice 3" vise to hold the base in place so I don't have to chase it all over the countertop when trying to mount a coil. :D But 7 wraps 29ga around 3/32 gives me a nice tootling 1.7-ish ohms = totally tootle territory. :D And I don't even care if cloud chasers laugh at me; it keeps me off cigarettes. :D

What I usually do is just mount the base on a mod like my Snow wolf or IPV4 and build the coil on that. A small vise is a good idea tho.

But then the mod falls over -- while trying to wrap tiny wires around tiny screws. I have a big enough challenge just seeing what I'm doing; if you saw how it was for me before I got the vise, you'd laugh your .... off -- totally "keystone kops" type comedy. I have to have the base held securely, not moving ANYWHERE, so I can use both hands for the coil mounting -- one hand to keep the drillbit in place in the coil so it doesn't deform, while the other wraps the wire and tightens the screw. If I take my hand off the drillbit, it slides thru the coil, falls out, and the coil deforms as I tighten. If only I had 3 hands! But wait.. I have a vise, which is nearly as good as a third hand. ;)

I have no clue where I fit into the vaping 'camps'. I'm a combo flavor chaser/cloud chaser. I want bigger clouds, but I want them to taste good too. I'm not trying to fog out a room off one or two puffs though. So, yeah, total outsider in every group. Which is why I lurk a lot, lol

Hi,
I use a P3 w/Kabuki 7-11 watts, usually 9 w/1.8-2.0 ohm coils. I was told I can't be a Tootle Puffer 'cause I lung hit.

Now get this: My girlfriend uses a P3 w/ K4 Her builds are usually @ 1.7-1.9 ohms She uses the volt setting somewhere in the 4's. Last night, she was telling me the corresponding wattage was 10 something or other. She does MTL hits. She claims to be a Tootle Puffer. She told me last night, "Every once in a great while when I want a big hit of nic, I do a lung hit." I was told that disqualifies her as being a Tootle Puffer. Her response, "Oh well, it's a silly definition then."

I concur. Good. We were proud to call ourselves Tootle Puffers but if taking a lung hit once in a great while disqualifies a person, I'm even more proud to not be one.
The micro managing vape styles into categories is silly. That said you now fit into the Mod Womper group.

Not in the world, I would have no way of getting that data, I mean here on ECF.

I actually vape at what wattage amuses me at the momment so at any given time I do it all. Very rarely below 30w though. Or above honestly. I'd say 90% at 30w.
I understand, but ECF is a BIG forum...

I'm thinking, the group of vapers that vape at 30+ watts and consume 30-90ml of juice, is small than you think.

yup, don't know what I'd do without my vise. I also use a tool I got with my Rose. Basically it's a hunk of SS with holes in either end, one side has 510 threads for holding the build deck while the other holds the mouth piece/drip tip. There's another tool machined on the side used to separate the deck from the tank. It's short & fat (kinda like me) which makes it hard to knock over. I used to be short & stocky... but hey, it's all paid for ;)

ROFL! I bought one of those first, but found it useless, so I gave it to my husband for his coin hobby; then I got a magnifying visor, and the vise. I no longer use the visor very often, since now I can pretty much get the job done by feel, but I use the vise everytime I mount any coil, it just saves my profane vocabulary for those occasions when it's really called for. Like if I drop my mod. :D
