It's just a contact coil with the side away from the air port spaced.
Make a contact coil, mount it, put something underneath it to support it while you space the top.

After trying a bunch of different coils my favorite is a simple 14 wrap 28awg 2.4mm 1.2 ohm setup at 18W. Flavor is spot on, gets up to temp fast and I can take a long slow lung inhale.
