I have one of those IPV mini's and its an ok mod. I love the color of yours. With mine its black and took no time at all for the paint to start flaking off of it. Also ended up lubing the bottom cap threads with some VG. It became hard to unscrew the cap to take the battery out. I still have mine but seldom use it anymore. For me, most of my vaping is 25 watts and up and the mini just like my clooper and Smok M65's like to drop the wattage while vaping when the battery starts to get about three quarters of a bar. For you vaping at 9 watts you probably wont ever see that happen.

The only "mechanical" type issue I've seen with it so far, is that when you take off the cap, the battery won't just slide free; I had to grab my trusty needle-nose to pull it partially out, so I could grab it. But the threads are quite smooth. Still, it's more of a pain to remove than the magnetic door on the kbox mini; with this one, I might just use the micro-USB to charge it. These boxes have any charger issues?

The paint, it's too early to tell; it appears to be metallic-blue enamel, sorta like car paint. If it starts flaking, I'll have to get a wrap for it, I love it too much to retire it on aesthetic grounds. :D

I meant to order spare battery caps for mine when they were all over(I hate the cap, my batteries slide out fine though), Sweet-Vapes used to carry them up until a couple weeks ago lol and I just decided I should get some! So if you see them back in stock anywhere, would ya let me know?

As for the paint, I got Silver because I read it was less likely to wear off, but if you are like me, and only use it at home and not throwing it in your pocket and such, and dont get e-liquid all over it, the paint should last a while. Iv been told a Clear Wrap wouldn't hurt, but I have never bought a Wrap for any of my mods. :D

I'm a girl -- girl pants don't have the kind of pockets that are actually useful for carrying anything larger than a few coins (if they have actual pockets at all!). In my purse, I slide my mods into net pockets on the sides -- I think they're actually for cellphones, but since I don't have one of those, they're great for mods. :D But one of my BEST xmas presents was a great new purse, which has the side pouches, but this purse is SWEET, all leather, so the pouches are too -- probably protect the finish better than the netting of my old purse's pouches. Hmm, actually that's the next thing I need to do, transfer all my crap from the old purse to the new... which is the time I get rid of all the misc scraps of paper that seem to breed in the dark bottom of purses. I'm loving how I no longer accumulate sufficient loose tobacco in my purse to roll a whole pack of cigarettes. :D

I'm truly hoping to not give the new iPV an ejuice bath, but if I don't hold the Achilles in a good light when refilling, sometimes I get a little carried away and then ejuice runs right out the airhole. Hard to see the liquid level around that airflow stack if the light isn't hitting it just right. Hate when that happens with the new kbox mini; that matte metal finish has to be wiped with alcohol to get rid of greasy ejuice marks.

I'll keep an eye out for battery caps though; strikes me that that would be a good thing to have spares of. Sweet-vapes, eh? LOVE them!

IPV has had issues with the charger port but I dont think those issues involved the mini. I charged mine with the cord and had no problems.

If I am on a 200 watt box at 13.5 watts is that tootling

Sent from my 0PJA2 using Tapatalk

The un-official rule of thumb is under 15 watts your tootling, over 15 watts your womping. As long as ya vape, have fun and enjoy, its all good! :D

I got one of those IPV D2's during all the Black Friday sales ($36.00) and it's replaced my 18350 mechanicals as my every day carry. I found I like running my Kabuki at a consistent 12.5 watts better ;). Paint hasn't been an issue so far because it came with one of those silly-cone sleeves. I've used the USB charger most of the time so I don't have to take it out of the sleeve.

I've considered getting the D3 so it will regulate below battery voltage but I found it didn't include a sleeve. Since I've been running higher wattage I don't really see the need to "buck" now so I may get another D2, the sleeve is more important to me ;).

I realize this isn't the TP thread but I've been lurking for a while and wanted to throw my :2c: in... :thumb:

Mod day today.

My Solara 30w DNA came today. Its a big mod. Light but big. The DNA 30 has some known issues but this mod has a built in battery. You can get this mod for 30 bucks new. Its a good deal.

And the Radius.

I'd never actually seen one up close. Its not what I expected. I knew it was plastic but its very cheap looking and feeling. In the looks and feel department it gets an F.

Menu is like nothing else. Its really hard to navigate. I do not like it but honestly I don't change settings super often so not a huge deal. I'll call this a C because while its ......ed its not a huge deal.

The screen is tiny. Coming off a SX Mini and a large screen DNA40 is truely pathetic. But again its a very basic mod so good enough. Another C.

Vape quality?? Its alright. Set with my tanks at my settings it vapes the same as any other mod. I actually did a blind test with my wife where I used the same settings on the same tank on the Radius and a 15 dollar Kbox. My wife and i agree there is no difference. Its no better or no worse then any other 40w mod. Gets a A for vape.

The button. This gets its own mention. Its a very nice button. Love the feel of it. The location isn't that great. I'll give it a B because while its perfect feeling its in a terrible place. SX Mini owns vaping ergonomics.

At 50 bucks this would be a nice little basic 40w box.

At 100 bucks its a nice little basic thats very well made. Would be a great buy. I'd get over the cheap plastic feel to know it had some good guts.

At 150?? No. Just no.

At 200?? Not even worth considering at 200 except for collector (like me).

You got a VT200?? You suck!!!!

I LOVE the VT200. Feels great in the hand. Very solid feel.

I am completely in love with its baby brother the VT40. Possibly the best mod I have ever owned. The DNA40 is a AMAZING chip and I don't even use TC.

I been playing with my Cubuki alot lately. I on;y lung hit and its kinda on the line of being able to lung hit it. Had to crank the nic level (100%) up when using it. The high nic kills the flavor so thinking I'm gonna retire it. I do like it much better then the authentic Kabuki that came before it.

Ohhh, I'd be careful about that. They say too much will make you go blind ;) Lol...

Yea, the VT is nice. It's my first TC device. It's just a bit too big for my every day carry though. It stays home and I carry the IPV D2 all the time now. I did try the IPV in temp mode with a Goblin Mini and it was... just ok. I think the DNA200 spoiled me :D So for now it's sporting the Kabuki in power mode and that's perfect for my DIY Sweet Tangerine Menthol :)

I may be doing that too, at least for a while; I just changed out the battery I had been using since last night, one of my new 25Rs, and I note that the wrapping on the battery is *scored* -- pretty deeply too. Apparently something sharp inside that mod's battery tube is scoring the battery, so until I can get more of those batteries, it would probably be best to leave in the one I just put in. I put the scored one on the charger, but I dunno... that troubles me.

Yup not a good idea to use it with a ripped cover.

Not sure I would trust any self-wrapped batteries. The scoring hasn't so far progressed to anything like a rip or tear, no metal showing, but I'll probably just replace the battery -- $5 at ilumn.com.

Illum.com has been out of the HG2's for a while now... Had to order a couple from orbtronics.
