Man, oh man! What a fantastically amazing read, Don! And I didn't want it to end, I was having so much fun with it (ADORE your writing style!).

Still an analog smoker, having first been duped by SmokeAssassin (aargh!), then discovering ECF and researching these boards and checking out countless vendors, and then finding and reading your thoroughly enjoyable tome, the moment has finally arrived where I'm ready to now :giggles insideously: place my "real" first PV order! Although I've been leaning strongly toward the M401 or DSE901 all along, with the intent of "tricking" myself by using something "a lot like an analog," I suddenly decided to shift gears and go for the double-set Joye510 "No Box" kit from Cignot for (hello!!) $35. Whyfor? 1) Rockin' price. 2) So many here rave about the 510, that I thought I'd give it a whirl, especially given the great price. With this particular kit, I can try a manny batt but also have the noob comfort of an auto batt. I only wish I could locate round shaped mouthpieces for the 510, as I don't anticipate I'll be especially fond of the whistle tip feel.

I'm also ordering juice from both Good Prophets and Wet Your Stick (WYS has small sampler flavors I'd like to try). Soon, I'll be a vaper just like all the cool kids here, and I can kiss my analogs goodbye -- I can hardly wait!!

Thank you SO MUCH for your outstanding presentation, and for your wit (and song!) that kept me devouring alllll that information (and what a mountain of data it was). Truly a labor of love, Don, and a treasure for noobs and everyone in the vaping community.

Thanks also to every ECF member for their contributions here. What a blessing to have found ECF!!

So, if I stare at my mailbox, will my shipment arrive any sooner? ;)

Thank you, Ez, for your continuing positive comments ... and for your alert about the videos. However, are you sure? In its current, completed form?

I haven't been able to find any klinkers. [Sometimes, Internet Explorer on my Vista OS doesn't like YouTube. But they all look OK to me using FireFox.]

Let me know which ones are bombing.

OMG.. thats fantastic!!

no actual words to say! Just that I hate posting and you made me post!! Great!!

I treasure every single post and PM I've received about this project. But to have it be your very first post?! I am honored.

I hope it will just be the first of many postings here. This is a very friendly, supportive group at ECF. Certainly do not hesitate to ask a "stupid" question (especially after reading through the FAQ and some of the stickied threads at the head of a respective forum). None of us was born knowing how to use an e-cig (obviously). We've learned from each other. Boy, I sure have!

And contribute your own thoughts, opinions and observations. [Yet another "I sure have.":D] That's something else to know about the ECF crowd: we are an opinionated bunch ... but we respect the opinions of each other (well, most of us do;)).

Welcome!

is there a way that we can have this great guide in a pdf format?
Or i'm asking too much?...

First of all, sktoris, thank you for that word "great" (happens to be a favorite of mine:)) and for the compliment implicit in your request!

I (in coordination with Smokey Joe, who runs this place) are going to have to give that one some thought. My first reaction is: No. It has been offered here by and for the members of ECF and under the auspices of ECF.

Among other things, I've played loosey goosey with permissions and authorizations for all the photos, videos, and links included. Since most of them have been the property of fellow ECFers and it's only within our small* vaping community, I think I've gotten away with it. Publication beyond that, however, is another matter.

* It's growing, but compared to the world at large: teeny, tiny.

I know some have shared the link to the guide (and to myriad other ECF webpages) with others and may even have printed it out for friends, but that's an informal usage (and is fine with me BTW). Personally, I've wondered whether there is a book in this (I've had a couple others - on entirely different topics - published), but the prospect of obtaining necessary releases is daunting.

Thanks for asking though!

Don - Your tutorial was the best! I borrowed heavily from parts 1 through 5 for my recent e cig seminar. (Of course, I gave you many heartrfelt props for your info and efforts!)

I have pointed many new vapers to your newbies' guide, and they have all found it to be MOST helpful.

Thanks again for all your efforts - this will go down in vaping history as a classic guide for vapers new and seasoned. You are the man! Great job!

What a work! Thank you so much! I'm still a newbie and still searching for that ONE pv that does it all (and looks pretty, too). My favorite has been the M201. I order it stateside from freshsmoking.com (you mentioned you hadn't found a US vendor). I have the pretty red ones with the flowers and the black with the grey smoke swirls. Their service has been great and a package arrives about 2 days after I order.

fanofwalt, SwanVesta, sunsluv, M4jin, AngusATAT, catlvr,

[Listing your screen names together reminds me to urge everyone to participate in my Screen names: How did you come up with yours? thread in the Lounge. ("catlvr" - is that anything like chicken liver?8-o) It's fun sharing and fascinating reading!]

I hope you will forgive my grouping together my expression of appreciation for the heartwarming sentiments you each communicated. And, in a few cases, for my delay in expressing this. [As may now be apparent, I've been pretty focused elsewhere.]

Ho boy! There are so many complimentary words and statements here, I don't think I can identify only one or two to focus on ("ADORE" ain't bad:D). Perhaps most of all, I appreciate your recognizing the contributions of other ECF members (on whose shoulders I stood).

One question though: How do know that this was a "labor of love"? I might have hated every moment of writing it. Not!

Thanks, fanofwalt!

Absolutely FAAABULOUS! Not only did I learn so much I enjoyed the experience and that Mr Daboom is the triumph of your work
There's that "Mr" again! Please, just Don or DaBoom (you must capitalize the B however:rolleyes:). You do realize that "DaBoom" or "DaBoomVape" is not really my last name.;)

OK, with "FAAABULOUS" and "triumph," you can get pretty much whatever you want from me. Thanks, Swan!

Thank you!!! This is a fantastic guide and has been very helpful!
You are welcome! And thank you, sunsluv, for the "fantastic" evaluation!
I caught it the other day whilst it was being finished and after more than a year of vaping there is still a lot of useful information and pictures in it!!
"whilst" ... oh, I like that! Look for the Shakespearian allusion (interwoven with a nod to Gertrude Stein) in my forthcoming illustrated guide to the 510 (I kid you not). Thanks, tribalmasters!
It's so nice to see that my Serenity Chuck has been immortalized in your wonderful and informative thread. Thanks for all of your hard work, Don!
"immortalized" - now that is something! It almost overshadows "wonderful" and "informative." Thanks much!

Actually, your "Serenity" Chuck (I didn't know it was called that) was the first photo I ever saw of a Chuck. For awhile, I thought all Chucks looked like that. Are those designs from the Firefly show or the Serenity movie? I watched them, but for my wife and me, they didn't compare to Whedan's first TV series. Believe it or not, Buffy the Vampire Slayer is our favorite TV show of all time. West Wing and House are neck and neck for #2. [All of that is horribly off-topic, but if I can't indulge myself in this thread, where can I?;)]

Fantastic job!!!

great guide
It takes a verbose person like me to truly appreciate pithiness. [Put that in your helmet and smoke it! Just don't get all pithy about it. <-- Sorry about that. I'm not always funny, but I am punny.:D]

Seriously, catlvr and M4jin, thank you!

Thank you, rocketvapor! Your references to "vaping history" and "classic" are headswelling.

e cig seminar? Tell me more! As a professional trainer, my curiosity has been piqued.

You are very welcome, suzano! And thank you for that lead to a U.S. supplier for that M201 with the designs that I admired! [Actually, I do know of a U.S. supplier for the Smoore product line and I believe I linked to it several times: www.LiteCigUSA.net. I just didn't know where to get the pretty M201s. Litecig is much less expensive, but their M201s come in only basic black, white, or stainless steel.] I urge you to post that lead in the M201 model specific sub-forum (stick it in someone else's thread until you "graduate").

How do you like your 201? I love my penstyle (DSE801), although I've not been pleased with 801 atty reliability: some last a couple weeks, some have been DOA, and some peter out after only a couple days. I've just ordered a few BE112 attys to see if they're any better, but I've held off trying the M201 because it is incompatible with any of the others (or with my Prodigy). But if it's wonderful, I'll fly solo with it (as I do with my 501 and KR808D-1).
