Provape mentioned that before Zen used to applied gorilla glue to hold the post (black part) in place and now he is using a "press fit" method.

i have first, second, and third gen zaps and not one of them has the black derlin peice glued in place OR press fit, on all of them you can unscrew the delrin peice that the positive post screws into, if you apply enough pressure. There was no glue in the entire atty, and there is not even a trace of any glue or anything being glued in there,

EDIT: turns out I was wrong about the glue lol, but my 1st zap in the pic is pretty old and doesnt have it, must have been from before my oldest was born  . I have taken them all apart and no glue or glue residue, no press fit either, the delrin just unscrews right out/back in. I would still not gorilla glue that peice in though because it needs to sometimes be removed to be cleaned as juice sometimes get in there, and as far as reselling it, I wouldnt want one that had been glued bc I clean mine weekly and I wouldnt be able to fully clean all the juice out of it.

The ONLY difference between the first, second, and third gen zaps is the length of the floating pin is longer on 2nd and 3rd gen, and the top cap has a raised engraving on 3rd gen. the rings there on 1 and 2 I stripped the satin off they did not come like that

the only real way that I can think of that the black delrin peice is popping up like that is if the positive post had been pulled on so hard that the threads on the black delrin peice got stripped, or it was put in cross-threaded, but w/ that you could tell bc the post would be ....-eyed.

Any recommendations for drip tips...i cant believe at $150 it doesnt come with a nice drip ti.p..unless, im mistaken.

Personal preference...I like my Cherry Vape Sapphire ming but that's just what I'm currently going with until the next shiny whatever pops up.

As to not including a driptip....probably because most folks have their own preferences and they didn't want to add a few bucks to the price by adding something that a lot of folks may not like or won't use.

yeah mike said he would produce 200 a week untill they stop selling kind of like he did w/ the ZAG/ZAU, the problem w/ that is now its a bit hard to get a ZAG, and I had to wait almost 8 months for my ZAU. The ZAP had a higher demand on it than his other atties, probably because everyone and their mother has a 'vari, and bc a pro/zap mini is a great device for someone just getting into gennies and still not too huge. there was such a high demand for these but it had to flatten out at some point. Now that he has time for other stuff I know my gf will be happy, shes still waiting on the pchela :) and i still want to see what the dragon looks like.

The thing that people have to remind themselves is, (and me, lol, i get caught up in it too bc I'll have one device and be like ok, i finally got this, i.e. my paps or GGTS and be like, now I need a ZAU for this and a ZAG for that, but have to wait for it and get frustrated) mike is just one dude, he has a full time job and does this as a hobby in his spare time. its easy to forget that so I'm just putting it out there. I met mike at vapercon and the entire time he was explaining things to people, helping them fix their wick/coils, and even fixing devices that werent even his, bc of this and how he cares so much about the quality of his products and always stands behind his products, friends and customers made me a friend and customer for life.

This is weird... As far as I know, the derlin piece was not screwed on in the tank on both ZAP. There weren't any thread on the derlin piece either.....

it does not screw in. he just means you woukd twist it until it comes out.

^this, no threads on it on the outside, the threads are on the inside for the post to thread into, which its possible to cross thread and warp it, im guessing though thats never happened to me, it comes out rather easy so its not press fit in or glued.

Huh, thanks for the correction then. I had no idea you could take the center pin out. Makes sense for repair purposes.
Although I will mention, my Provari's do not have a floating center pin(I just checked). I never tighten things down to far though. I was always watchful of that since I started using 357's with the Provari and was told to never tighten them down to far as doing so causes them to leak.

skyway that brass peice that sticks up (or should stick up) in your 510 connector is your 'vari's floating pin, if its been a while since its had an iso bath it can get pretty stiff and not want to go up and down very easily, though its always pretty stiff anyways

Thanks, fixed mine. Gave it a little twist and set in there. Just got the second one in the mail from the 1/4/12 patch for my provari mini. But I have to let it go, just got the orion v2.1 last night!!!
