Sorry to hear about that, is it damaged to the point of being unusable?

Its still useable. It got knocked off in the Westfield parking garage and then it rolled out and was run over by a car while I stood there in complete and utter shock. It still fits fine but they have that corrugated concrete that gave it a good nick plus some scratches and small nicks. It is in amazingly good shape but I like my things to look perfect. These things do pop off WAY to easily. If I can get another top cap I can use this one for the road and the new one at home only. Ug. At least it still works fine and looks pretty good amazingly enough. What were the chances it would roll off so far and a car at the exact moment. Unbelievable. geez

Disaster struck tonight. Somehow I managed to break my tank sleeve. Was odd, I was testing my coil and I heard a snap. Next thing I know my hands are covered in juice. Looks like ill be getting orings and a stainless sleeve sooner than later.

TG for my backup mechanical mod which shall remain nameless. ( it has a shield over the glass.)

I am not going to speculate on Zen~'s intentions, and it is not my place to say whether he is right or wrong. I generally agree that with the Z Atty Pro, it is not 100% necessary to use an insulator for the device to work, and work well. I do think the insulator is helpful, and removes one point of a possible problem for someone that is having trouble getting their wick/coil short free. I use other RTA's without insulators and they work great. The big fat tightly rolled 3.5mm wick is my preferred wick, as it does wick really well.

That being said, I currently have a tightly rolled wick installed with the insulator, and it is wicking very well. Plastic does melt, and if your bottom coil is too close to the insulator it will melt with normal use. I have learned to keep that first wrap at least 2mm above the atty floor for that reason.

My personal recommendation is to use the insulator until you are well versed in making a short free wick and coil. And I will always tell people that the manufacturer's recommendations should always be followed despite the fact that it may work in other configurations. Unless, of course, there is a valid safety reason that the manufacturer's recommendations should be ignored or contradicted.

Well said 'AJ'. Using a product as designed and listening to his comments that it is required shouldn't be ignored. I was 'thinking out loud' and wasn't trying to say it shouldn't be used.

It is a wonderful piece of hardware. I can't wait to get my repair parts. I have one other genesis mod. Thankfully it is built a tad more ruggedly. I will be doing my best to bulletproof my ZAP as well. I am also going to replace the hardware with titanium hardware. I know Ti has less conductivity than stainless. It has a stronger tensile strength.

Weird, I guess the "Zenfidels" were wrong. Unless I am just wacked out today. I could have sworn they said less wraps would get me higher resistance. I personally like about 2.5ohms so I can adjust the voltage with more play and use less amperage. Then again, talking about Wattages and such is apparently taboo talk in that thread, lol.
Zen~ apparently doesn't believe in using a Variable device since he likes to just wrap a coil according to his taste. That is fine for him, but I do not like battery drain and like to be able to adjust. I am actually surprised he even made a Zen device that caters to the Provari with this thinking.

Ouch that had to hurt... I know what you mean about keeping your mods perfect.. I dropped my first Provari once, it put a small chip on the extention cap and a little ding on the top cap where it meets the body. I was going to buy a new ext cap and let Provape replace the top cap... It was only a month old... Needless to say I ordered a new Provari and sold the other to my freind... He got a great deal $100 for a satin black/blue LED/ext cap... You could hardy see the damage, but I new it was there.....

Ouch, that made me cringe just reading that. HOH does have them in stock here, and I could let you borrow the one off my ZAU if you wanted to drive up to Shoreline.

Wow, thanks for the offer man. It does work fine though so no worries on borrowing yours to ding it also. I just ordered a brand new top cap from HOH. Thanks for the link. For whatever reason I just assumed everything was sold out over there. So now Ill have a top cap for the road and one for home :)

I do think it depends on the juice your using,it is cleaner crisper taste with the rebuidables for many juices i don't think it's a lot of difference from a clean new carto in tank.I do for some reason feel i get more of a nic hit with rebuildables.Thought i wasn't going to like them but i am using them at home always now.I will not get rid of all of my carto tanks though i use those all the time when i leave the house no leaks and ease of use when out and about.
