Like the title says, what did you use back when you started vaping? What did you move on to after that? What are using now and everything in between?

For me, I started my first vape experience about 4-5 years ago I believe at a mall kiosk for 21 century smoking. I believe the kit was called the blackjack. Used it on and off, didnt stick with it and went back to analogs while the blackjack collected dust in a draw, occasionally pulled out only to realize I didn't know where the charger was.
Got interested again towards last summer when some friends were using better devices regularly. Picked up a blu starter kit at the store to see if it was any better, especially after seeing all the commercials etc. Stopped using the blue cartridges after 2 days, asked my friend about the B&M store in the area and went there to see what I could find to work on the blu batteries for me to start using e-liquid instead of prefilled, because I liked the size and charger pack. Picked up some vision nano clearos which worked on the blu and got some good flavors.
After a month or two I got tired of the batteries and constantly having to charge them and moved on to some cheap no name ego-c batteries. This was also around when I discovered ECF. Got tired of the issues of leaks/floods and burning of the nanos and moved on to vision stardust (ce4) clearos. I was now up to 3 ego batteries. Stuck with these for a bit, occasional leak issues but nothing as bad as the nanos. Tried a few different clearos but they weren't great. Then gotvapes brought back the fluxomizers, and those were working great, way better vapor production and good flavor. few issues with occasional leaks and broke two in my pocket (ego cover wasn't out yet).

Started getting tired of the ego bats and wanted something better, VV at the least. Did my research and decided on a ProVari mini a little over a month ago, a birthday gift to myself. But the fluxomizer was too tall IMO for the provari, and I saw some threads showing IBTanked cartotanks, and I fell in love. I got great performance out of them and was running 4 tanks at once, swapping throughout the day to keep it all fresh. I started getting curious about RBA/RDA after always saying I'd never go that far and that it was crazy. Tried a mini bully dripper and made my first coil and I liked it. Also got a vision spinner at this time too just as a better backup than the regular egos. Now I wanted a RBA. Enter the kayfun.

Picked up a kayfun 3.1 ES clone (in black to match my red/black provari), built the coil, tried cotton as the wick and forever was my vape life changed. Since then I picked up another provari mini (zombie), a regular kayfun 3.1 ES clone, and a kayfun mini clone (ivogo). Zombie got it's own kayfun so both provari's are my go to devices that I take almost every where with me. The vision spinner got put onto a u adapter with the kayfun mini in standard mode.

Yesterday I just got a Vision Spinner II (1600 mah) which is now on the adapter with the kayfun mini in long mode and a innokin cool fire II and a origen RDA clone (yeahsmo). The cool fire and origen are paired together (both in black).

I think I'm good on hardware for a while now... I did a lot in 8 months. haha.

What about everyone else?

Only started 3 1/2 moths ago. I had a case of bells palsey, I thought I had had a stroke. My wife and I ran to the ER. After being told it was an infection in a nerve called bells palsey wich made half my face go limp, I figured it was time to quit smoking. I went to a vape shop the next day and got 2 ego c twists. Loved it and threw my pack of Marlboros out the window on the drive home. After not being able to make it through the day on a charge, I bought an MVP about a week later. I Didn't care for the box shape so I went and got an innokin 134 mini after 2 weeks figuring I could charge a batt while using another and be good to go. I liked that up until today when I purchased my first provari, Figuring an 18650 will get me through the day. I think I'm content for awhile now. Oh somewhere in between their I picked up a k100 mech mod. Never cared for it but I will keep practicing rebuild ambles and see how it goes.

I wanted something that was reliable and not too costly because after reading so many threads i realized how you can get caught up in a never ending purchasing merry go round and i was hoping to avoid that since my goal is or was to get off nicotine altogether .

If i allowed myself to continue to acquire tons and tons of gear i realized the chance of me quitting were slim to none so i just still continue to use an MVP . Debating on some type of mod but i keep going back and forth whether i want to continue vaping or not.

Well, I started with blu, went to a ego, went to a VV kamery, went to a VV ego twist, went to a VV spinner, went to a VV spinner 2, went to a mvp2 vv, vw, went to a nemisis mod with kick, went to a Hanna mod DNA20, been winding coils since the spinner. Using mostly taifun and kayfun tanks. That's how I grew. I'm wanting the DNA 30 but money's tight so I'm going to have to wait.

Started off vaping on Sept 7th (my birthday) with a:

Ego-c with a ce4
to
Evod clearo after ce4 cracked with some orange cream juice
to
Smok Winder with Evod
to
PT2 on Winder
to
MVP2 with PT2 (started rebuilding heads)
to
IGO-W on MVP2
to
K100 with IGO-W
to
vast array of cloned RDAs
to
Nemesis Clone with RDAs and RBAs

My main device now at home: Nemesis Clone with IGO-W and drilled out airhole in single coil configuration or with a KFL on top.
Out and about device: MVP2 with PT2

I also picked up DIY'ing juice around the time that I got my MVP2 which was about 7 months ago and haven't went to a B&M or ordered juice online since.

I've enjoyed every bit of my vaping journey and despite all my purchases I've made, I still have saved money from quitting smoking.

2009 - Blu

Fall-ish 2013 - Blu again

November 7th 2013 - Blu again and it finally stuck I wanted to quit and I needed to quit I was experiencing asthma symptoms at the age of 24 my PCP was trying to get me diagnosed (I just thought he was crazy and needed some good cough syrup so I could get through work with out hacking on people). I was using emergency inhalers very often depending on what triggers I came I contact with. I was sick more often than not and when I was I wheezed all the time struggling to breath.

January 2014 - I swear I was actually happy with my Blu and this guy HAD to ruin it for me by letting me try his Kamry X6/iSmoka BBC with some delicious green apple juice. He introduced me to a brand new at the time B&M and I bought nearly the exact same set up, but mine was purple Kamry with neon green tank and green apple menthol juice.

Spring 2014 - My iSmoka tank began to fall apart and I began researching. I found IBTanked and instantly fell in love with them, but they wouldn't do well with my Kamry and it was starting to look rough. I went ahead and ordered my tank to decide whether or not it would work for me and as suspected I loved them. The flavor was amazing and it was easy to work with. Sadly though my joy did not last more than 12 hours as my setup tumbled onto the travertine floor. I ordered 6 more tube and 2 more sets of caps. But I needed to upgrade my power device. It needed to be durable, beautiful, repairable, and most of all I need it to last. After at least a week of researching I finally came upon the one that seemed to meet all of my demands Provari..
'It is so expensive' I thought but after weighing how much I spent on cigarettes monthly and how long I expect my Provari to survive.. It would pay itself off in merely a month and a half including the cost of accessories and options. I must have loaded that cart atleast a dozen times with various options that I would like before I finally pulled the trigger on my blue/green hybrid with green LED.

I honestly couldn't be happier for my current and most favored set up Provari with IBTank.

Since then I have attempted a Mech with Genesis style RBA set up for me .5ohm and .8ohm
Personally, I don't see the appeal. It's hot and it burns and is overall unpleasant. I really can't bring myself to try it again just the memory of that feeling was enough to do me in on that particular mod.

But I wanted to build my own coils, I got a Kayfun lite +V2.
I built my own coils all above 1.2 ohms. Still haven't found the right RBA set up for me it either too hot or not enough vapor mostly though it is just too intense..
Maybe another day for now it sits in the build box until I feel brave enough to try again. Though I'm sure with enough patience I will get it right but I am truly happy with my IBTanked and Provari combo.

....However, I recently discovered what a 'Sophia' is.. >.>

I started with a 650ego that my son bought me for mothers day last year. I played around with that until my last stinky on July 27th last year.

I bought a bunch of 900MAH egos with CE6s (Now retired to the vape station and PIF)

2 Mech Mods with Protank clones and Vivi Novas

I got me a purple Iatty. I just love to look at it! (Used once) Its still pretty!

2 SVDs and Protank clones (I eventually bought Kanger protank1s but only used a few of them)

VTR with Anyvape Davides. I didn't use my VTR much and when I did it was only at home. (Its heavy)

4 VV3s with mini and large Davides and Mini Protank 2 (Everywhere vaping! I Love the VV3s)

eRoll X2 (wonderful for hands free vaping and stealth vaping!)

2MVPs with Davides and areotank bases ( 1 barely used MVP I traded for an unused SVD)

Oh forgot my smoktech pipe and a Protank 2 Vaping like a sir!

Last month I went for the biggie

2 Provari minis (Silver Satin and Polished Stainless) and 3 Kayfun tanks and a FoggerV3 (I just picked up another Kayfun this weekend on sale):2cool:

I haven't used anything else since I bought my Provaris! Everything else sits unloved now. 318 days smoke free and vaping happy!:vapor:

Personally, I always shoot for around 2.0 ohms. I'm using 30 gauge wire, wrapping on a toothpick (.051"), about 7/8 wraps. I've ranged between 1.6-2.3 ohms with that and I love it. on the lower ohms I'll go 3.8v and on the higher ohms I'm at 4.3-4.5v. It's not hot at all and I'm getting good vapor. The only thing I go higher on is my cool fire because I have the origen RDA on it, which is at 2.3 right now. The two kayfuns are at 1.6ohms and 2.0ohms, they're working great with a cotton wick. Give something like that a try if feel "brave" enough again.

Seriously if you are looking at rebuildable replacements for cartos in tanks go Sophia. It is MILES above the Diver for consistency and ease of setup.

Thank you for your opinion it is well appreciated!
I have been leaning towards the Sophia but I can't seem to find a way to buy one in the states. Have been skimming the classies every now and then but in all honesty I am trying my best not to seek out all the shiny things I want due to my wallets constricted diet.
I must regretfully resist temptation.. Must resist..

eGo-T 2.5 years ago only gave me something to do between cigs. I have considered upgrading this kit since about 6 months ago.

Aspire BDC tank 1 month ago and dropped dramatically on cigs the next day.

3 days later I bought an eGo spinner 1100 mAh kit. I completely quit smoking a week after.

Provari and Nautilus an V3 vivi tank 2 weeks later (or ago, same thing).

Currently looking at a Russian 91% and a small mechanical (possibly Reo) for hiking.

Lol I think I just got too frustrated and needed a break but rest assured I plan to try again just not right now. Thanks for the tips. =]
