I follow that. But what I'm saying is, if the wire gets hot enough to vaporize eliquid that's very close to the wire, not just what's in direct contact, then it seems the "ugly" coil has more surface area "close to" the eliquid, due to the juice being, not only inside and outside of the wire, but between it as well.

I don't understand the question, then. You seem to know exactly what you're talking about!

This is why I love my ugly coils, and this is why they work so well for super-sub vaping.

Edit: kachuge, the lower the ohmage, the more vapor, meaning more nic intake, meaning a necessary reduction in dosage. I assume with improved coil building also comes better vapor production, and with it a need to lower the nicotine level of your juice.

not really a question, i'm aware of what's happening to me.......
just curious if it was happening to anyone else...
...just looking for confirmation i'm not imagining it I suppose.......lol

but yup, better the coil......... like they say.... the hotter she glows, the more nic it goes!

I'm glad we got that settled :) :) :)

Seriously, though, I'm just voicing some thoughts I've been having, using logic as opposed to physics, but I think the "uglies" work better for me, too, even at 1.8 ohms.

I'm late to the party, as usual. I waited to try out some ugly coils for a day, but I have to say I'm sold. I wrapped 6 ugly wraps around a 3/32 drill bit. 26ga nichrome. Worked out to around .5 ohms. I'm trying to lower my res gradually to see if I like going lower. I'm really impressed with how the ugly coils are keeping my cotton from burning.
I was even able to pull out a bottle of Johnson Creek juice, which had been a wick-burning nightmare with micro coils. With the BUFF coils, I can enjoy this juice without replacing coils constantly. Thanks for the push to try this everyone!

Holy cow.... I did not know vaping could make you barf

Oh hells yeah it will...had just gotten my new aspire nautilus and banged it onto the vamo v5, topped up with some zesty 24 mg nic...mid winter in Wisconsin...shoulda SEEN the cab of my truck, still finding parts of it to hose out. About 10 hits in BAM no time to pull over, projectile vomit. Cleaning out a truck cab at -10 degrees is so much fun!!!

Bright side; I immediately lowered my nic to 12mg and have no issues since then.

This picture of your coils made me throw up, it looks like tarzan grabbed some kanthal instead of a vine, and then swung around an entire cotton ball a few times lol, one of those coils are probably 7/64th's, the other 5 are definitely various drill bit sizes.

Jk :D I'm a perfectionist coil artisan, just put up with me.

I view atomizers and coils like cars; the outside should be pretty, but under the hood, it's all about performance.
