ecigs are very unreliable in general...so you've got a point and I agree with some of it. The technology has a long way to go, we're just the early adopters. If you're willing to deal with their downsides they do work. I normally just keep a stash of extra atomizers so if one dies I just pop a new one in - not that big of a deal.

I bought a super mini (DSE103) and thought "this thing is a piece of crap"!
After watching Dustins (Ratindahat?)videos I bought a penstyle. This thing is awesome, plenty of vapor and good battery life. Picked up a sampler from Johnsoncreek to top off with. I'm not selling anything.......

I myself purchased a mini [not super- just mini] from *******.com [some Canadian outfit] and thought the same thing!

This of course was because, whilst waiting for the thing to arrive, was when I did the bulk of my research, found this forum, found Puresmoker.com [better device half the price! half the shipping too!], etc, etc.

So now that I have learned my lesson [paying return shipping, used carts subtracted from refund, waiting over 2 weeks from date of return on top of that].....this evening I finally got my refund back and have ordered the penstyle from Puresmoker.

I like the comment on the site about ppl wondering what you're doing smoking a blue penlight :) I just hope it works like in Steve's video.

P.S. - Hi to all, this is my first post, and I look forward to being a lifetime member of the ecig Movement [it's gotta catch on eventually, right?]

Wow, is this seller that you mention so bad they have been added on the forum filter? Or did you star them out on your own?Just kinda curious as to what site this is, since the forum censoring the name would just make more people end up shopping there without knowing.

wow i knew that there was a filter, but with suppliers' names added to it??....is it to protect the supplier, or to provide somewhat anonymous smack-talking? i could understand the filtration of swear words, as the only people on this site should be adults [wait, what? lol], but you should be able to call a company out if they deserve it.

But alas, I starred that out myself, just out of "respect" for that company [or maybe so their 'associates' wouldn't flame the **** out of me on here - i just starred that too lol]

but let's say this time the filter is on the fritz....it was e*uff*r
and yes, since i have sent that kit back [which of course after that bad experience was when i found this forum!!] i don't think i have read very much good about.... *p***e*. and now i know why.

/that filter is crazy, yo!

I've re-visited this thread and read right through. My supplier has been very helpful (and can't be responsible for the vagaries of the postal system at this time of year !) however, it does seem as though there are a lot of hiccups and glitches with the product. I want to stop using tobacco, so I want this gadget to work, so far it hasn't (I had my first kit on December 5) - so I'm back on tobacco until I receive yet another replacement - that's the problem. I bought this to be ready to enter the new year tobacco free.

I just read all three pages of this thread! Yow!

I have been using my first e-cig 901 for about 2 weeks now. Yes, definitely YES these stupid e-cigs are a hassle at first. Charging batteries, cartridges, blah, blah, blah. BUT after a few days of being determined to sort this out, I got the hang of it.

Battery life? Who cares! I made a wall power plug so I can vape all day! Nic juice? I bought a bunch so I don't run out. Atomizers? I bought extra too!

Any newbies, please listen. If you want to leave the analogs somewhere out in the garage (like I did) and make an e-cig work for you, get lots of EXTRA STUFF!! Extra batteries, cartridges, atomizers, etc. And I mean LOTS! It's kinda like checking to see how many analogs you have in the pack before driving to work or to the store. Make sure you have ALL the stuff!!

But I will say, all of the instructions and advice about how many "puffs" or "drags" you will get off a loaded e-cig? A CROCK!! I don't get anywhere near the "puffs" advertised. Maybe I would if I didn't actually "puff" so hard on it! I go through juice FAST! I get all my smoking habit satisfied but the stuff goes FAST! Get LOTS OF IT! Get backups of everything. Sure enough, the mail is late, the order didn't ship, the battery dies and a myriad of other problems crop up. Just have extras!

And as a sideline point: A little confession of stupidity on my part as a "just got it" e-cig owner. When I got my e-cig it came with carts to be used for filling. So there was no juice in them, just the puffy stuff. Hey, I didn't know. I popped one on and proceeded to vape, for 2 seconds. It of course ran out! Duh! I'm much smarter than that now. I vape all day without a hitch!

Stick with it and PLAN AHEAD! Get a process that works for you and only THEN go and experiment with other stuff. According to what I have read here, the 901 or the penstyle are the best for beginners. :thumb:

Oh....and I'm NOT a supplier. :D

I personally don't find them to be that much of a hassle at all i think it's been 28 days and haven't had a problem with batts or atomizer..

It's interesting (is it interesting ?) that both the 'hassle free' people are US
based - wonder if there's more of a problem in the UK. However, I don't
disagree that perseverance is the solution. I haven't given up on it yet and,as
I said in a previous post my supplier is very helpful, so I've ordered extras
and trust it will all work out.

I have to admit I would go straight back to the 'simplicity' of tobacco smoking if I didn't think e-cigarettes were miles better for my health... It's possible that I could be wrong but my logic tells me that e-cigarettes are 'almost' as good for me as if I had quit smoking so the 'problems' of e-cigarettes are worth putting up with.

You certainly need to read this forum and listen to all the great advice from other people to get the best out of using an e-cigarette and the great thing is that it seems to me that you will get nothing but honesty from the people on here. Anyone involved with selling the e-cigarettes or juice telling lies on here would only ruin their business.

I agree with surbitonPete.

Keep yourself stocked and ready to go with no excuses.

It took me almost a year to completely convert...

One suggestion to new converts who are ready to go full tilt on the e-cig... treat your e-cig like a cigarette and not like a puffer. Of course have it available for those little moments at your desk or in the car. But when you feel the need to have a smoke, go to your smoking spot. Fill your cartridge with 3 fresh drops of liquid and smoke... hard.

Get lots of vapor. Take it in deep. Feel the weight of the vapor in your lungs. It satisfies your nicotine craving AND that craving of satisfaction in your lungs. As a smoker, your lungs are used to working hard and I have found that the lack of working hard is actually - bothersome. It feels great to be less hacky... but my lungs want their workout!

12 days tobacco free - still missing it - but doing far better than efforts 1-5!

I totally agree about this forum. It gives a lot of information and advice,. plus it's interesting to hear how other people are getting on. When I first tried to get into e-cigs I had really hyped myself up to stop tobacco. With the glitches I went back on (though smoking less) and am now trying to get myself back in the frame of mind to stop altogether.

Thanks for the responses

Lacey.....I wish I could use my e cig exactly the same as a tobacco cig....but when I am sitting around ..especially when I am on my computer... I just sit and constantly puff all the time! ....I can't seem to help it!....I think I find something amazingly enjoyable in the fact that I can puff away as much as I want without making myself cough, feel breathless or bad in any way.:)

SP - Oh... I still puff.

If I could come up with a device like that for a harmonica... I would. :D

I have just found that treating it like a cigarette too has helped me a ton. Missing the smoke breaks... figured... I will make my own!

Like you said earlier... I think the forum helps most. It is almost like a recovery room. Every one is so nice and seems to have banded together... It definitely helps. TONS of good advice too from all kinds of sources.

hehe a picture came to mind of lacey puffing from a harmonica e-cig......Hey Kate I have just started trying out your idea of using almost no nicotine when I am puffing away and only giving myself a drop of high nic if I am getting that unsatisfied 'craving'. Your idea seems very logical...and so far so good!

I have a feeling that because we tend to vape more than we smoked and we can use nicotine all the time it has caused some overdoses or raised tolerances and dependencies.

What I'm finding is that an occasional dose has more of a buzz and is far more satisfying than a constant dose.

Glad it seems to be working for you Pete.

The forum is great Lacey, I really like mixing with most people here. I've sort of peaked a bit on the vaping learning curve but I still come back for the good company.

This is one of the best posts that I have ever read on this forum.

It is practical, honest and, most importantly, trying to be helpful.

I'm in agreement with everything bar the final conclusion - for me I would go with Evo or Penstyle (901 kit just breaks quickly imho - batteries are dire) (My history with penstyle atomisers isn't good - but when they are working they are wonderful).

But beyond that - it's really nice to see a post that pulls no punches and is based on experience and conviction. Anything else you have to say, I want to hear. Many thanks! :)

my smiling sunshines in the sky what a bunch of sniffle-nosed whiney brats there are here.....

that was a joke btw... now that i've made the proper entrance

this is my first post and im actually surprised it starts on this topic but so be it.

as a still somewhat new esmoker on my second round of trying to quit analogs... i must agree that the technology is definately imperfect.

my first go round was actually a pretty significant and well recieved surprise of actually beginning to outright dislike analogs... unfortunately fate kicked me by 1)recieving my starter kit whilst still having 6 packs of analogs that there was no way i was gonna toss as wasted money and 2)running into the awful problem of too low on cash as my batteries and atomizers died the slow horrible death. if not for those inconveniences i'm quite sure i'd be fully analog free by now instead of now doing a bit of both vaping and smoking..sometimes even forgetting and vaping WHILE smoking.

now as to the thread starter...what an ..... and i truly hope the swear filter isn't THAT picky... as ... is the only proper word to describe your attitude. everybody who has posted in this thread is fully correct that the ..... should mayhaps try asking more questions and actually READING the responses.

it has become quite obvious that the technology is new, semi-untested (we are the guinea pigs), and sometimes just downright unreliable (SOMETIMES). welcome to beta testing bub. get with the curve or get out of the way so the rest of us can.

personally i think we are all pretty lucky in being ahead of the curve on esmoking. while others are beating thier pets and screaming at thier partners because the patch just aint working for them we have at least found a relatively healthy way to satisfy the more basic yet MOST difficult habit of oral fixation to defeat.

as to suppliers... so far i haven't seen much in the way of any blatant lying so far (then again i could be wrong as i haven't FULLY read EVERY thread). each one seems to have thier own little problems with thier product but again...welcome to the beta testing world.

now that i've spouted my filth and fury... love me, like me, hate me... either way at least be nice enough to welcome me and hopefully i'll learn much more from each of you, and maybe even at some point be competent enough to contribute.
well met my fellow esmokers..well met
