Not having a lighter around. Now if I want to make a fire I have to rub two sticks together.
Wow, funny you mention that. I needed a lighter the other day and i was like "sh_t!" I dont miss being asked for a light, or a cig. " hey man, got a light"

I was at an outdoor concert a while back and vaping at the designated "smokers section", and a woman came up to me asking for a light. I said I don't have a light, I'm vaping. She looked at my vape, and said, "It looks like smoke to me. How do you light that thing?"

safe distance from a black hole
I miss the sense of camaraderie shared between complete strangers thrown out into the elements.
Sweltering heat of summer to the piercing cold of winter, grabbing ten to thirteen desperate gasps off the end of a cigarette.
Friendships steadily built per puff of toxic fumes.
Good times.

I miss that infrequent, indescribable but very noticeable hit i used to get from smoking. Pretty sure it wasn't due to nicotine though. Probably a result of a combination of chemicals being produced. I do miss that. Didn't happen often enough but when it did, it was always awsome !. Having said that, if that was what i was craving, then it really isn't worth it at all when i weigh it all up. I can live without it.

Hmm.... I miss that happy feeling I got when I found a lighter somewhere like in a pocket doing the laundry and going, "THAT is mine." I actually actively MISS that feeling, it's just so anticlimactic otherwise. It's more like, "Oh here's a bic. Great."

I also (when I was quitting without vaping but a little bit vaping too) ACTIVELY got upset when the cravings started to go away. The CRAVNIGS are where it was at, for me. I missed the actually sensation of "HERE is something I would buy over FOOD even, this craving" and being able to so easily (thought it's getting harder) to just SATISFY that craving.

So yeah, when the cravings were there, at least I had PART of the equation. When they started to fade, I mourned. LOL.

I'm a weirdo. I do miss hanging out with the husband outside, smoking. Vaping is somehow not the same.

That's about it, other than the shiny loveliness of an unopened pack of smokes. They REALLY know how to package those things....

When I was probably less than a month into vaping and being cigarette free, I dropped my car keys onto the ground one night. I habitually and immediately dug into my pants pocket to grab my lighter, but guess what, it wasn't there! I still have my Zippo and although it's more a paperweight now, it's going nowhere.

The only thing I miss is the simplicity of smoking.
A pack or two and a lighter...good to go.
I agree with the simplicity of smoking. I now carry a "First Responder Bag". It carries my wallet, Kindle, spare mod and tank, ejuice, and battery.

The fingernails on the fingers that I used to hold my cigarette with used to have yellow stains caused by the cigarette smoke. After being smoke free for seven years, my nails are no longer yellow
Don't miss the yellow fingernails or the burning of my fingers from a nearly burnt down cigarette.

And us Yankee motorcyclists wondering how to rig up a vape on a helmet.
I use a drip tip from a pipe. It adds the perfect length to fit under a full-face helmet.

... then if I needed two hands, I would just leave the cig in my mouth and drag on it while I was doing whatever it was I was doing. Can't do that with my mods.

I play guitar and keyboards and many times a cigarette was dangling from my mouth. That was a bit harder to get used to with mods (cigalikes weren't too hard tho), but like @Skeebo said, that immediate constant need does go away a good bit.

I miss the urgency to fire one up and grab a few quick hits on the way into the store when tagging along with my wife shopping, she always parked too close for my needs. I also miss that feeling when a cherry falls of the end of a ciggie and yup, there's a burn hole in my brand new shirt/ jacket/ car seat

I miss the smell, and the clink / fzzt! / clap of my Zippo's. Back when I was still smoking, occasionally I would get a bit of saliva go down the wrong pipe and would get into a convulsive coughing fit whereby I would almost black out...yeah, I really miss those episodes.

I miss shelling out ten or fifteen bucks every day for those cello wrapped boxes of goodness that I would fire up at will, snuff out midstream, and fire back up to get every bit of smoke that I could out of...waste not, want not!

I miss hacking all night long and in the morning having the lung goblins escape with violent spasms...

Guess all in all, I'm doin' OK these days :)

I really don't miss any aspects of smoking.

I do tend to carry a lighter with me at all times, if not on me then in my truck.

I don't have to carry much, even when away from the house for a full day. I take one mod with a freshly filled squonk bottle and fresh battery if I'm away for a few hours. If I'm going to be away for a day or so I just bring one mod and a case that holds a spare battery and extra squonk bottle. Using mech squonks and RDAs makes it so I don't need a backup on me very often at all. So what I carry doesn't take up much more room than a pack of smokes, or two for the longer trips.

I don't miss the cigarette vultures bumming, the cost, the mess of ashes and ashtrays, or the constant urge to seek out another smoke. I also feel the inability to just hold my vape in my mouth hands free keeps me from vaping more than I do now, so I kind of like that.

Only almost 5 weeks now and I already miss the feeling of satisfaction when you get out of the home in the morning and you immediately light a cigarette. Also missing drinking and smoking. Somehow vaping is not as satisfying.
I also miss going to the store to buy a pack of a cigarette and a Redbull once per day.

What I don't miss however is the actual smoke. Tried one couple of days ago and had to get rid of it after two puffs. xD

My Zippo is still on my desk. Can't let that one go tho.
