Back for a quickie update......(sort of) Doc says it could be a flu strain or it could be an intestinal virus. Either way, I have an open ended excuse for school and will send her back when she is feeling better.

That means (if I know my dd like I think I do) that I will most likely get to sleep in again tomorrow!!! :) I do hope it runs it's course SOON so she doesn't get too stressed out with falling behind. This is the same child who had a mystery virus last year and missed almost 2 months of school. She did what she had to do and busted her hump to get caught up with everything, and passed with flying colors. (thank God) She says she is feeling a bit better than she did yesterday so that's a very good sign!

Back later ...

Good morning all!

Taking dd to docs at 2 today, we still have whatever this is. She is complaining of body aches now too. I doubt there is anything they'll be able to do for her, if it's viral but we need to excuse the days absent from school.

Oldest dd comes home for Spring Break tomorrow night for 10 days. Yay!! She's liable to come through the door wearing a face mask....my little germophobe.

My nic supply is minimal, maybe I should up that in the near future? I do need a new charger as mine is hanging on by a thread at the moment. YIKES! I also need to get another fill syringe for the M1A1. Mine is so old now and it just doesn't work as well as it used to.

Bless her little heart...it is rough on baby AND Mama when they are sick. Hope she feels better very soon, Tracy.

Do that when you are able to, lilac. The nicotine is going to be taxed at a minimum. At a maximum it may become unavaialble in the higher concentrations. It is best to be as prepared as possible IMO The nic will stay good for a very long time in the freezer :)

That's where mine is, Salem...in the freezer wrapped in foil. :) I have come to realize that I can be happy with very little nic. I think I could eventually go nicless if worse comes to worse...but for everyone's sake, I hope it doesn't get worse.

Tracy, one of my girls seemed to get every bug that came through the county. Thank God we had a good pediatrician. For years she had tonsilitis every spring and every fall. The other one was almost never sick. You just never know with kids.

Sure hope your dd gets to feeling real, real better real, real fast Tracy.

And getting caught up at school is always tough, no matter how intelligent a person is.

Even now I can remember back to those days ...

What's up guys and gals ???

That nasty head cold is almost gone...almost!! Feeling a touch dehydrated ATM...Pure H2O....I'm pumping it in....

A very close lifelong friend called today...I'd seen him on Sunday as I was buying Gatorade for the cold...He needed to talk with me about something we touched on at the grocery...I'd given him some intel on a mutual friend whom has become a .... head and figured he wanted more info...That wasn't it...He married last year for the first time...53 at that time...A fine girl I might add..I was very happy for him...She wasn't feeling well and though eating was losing weight...Pancreatic cancer that may have spread too her liver...With chemo maybe 18 months...a year without...This will take the wind from your sails....

I'm glad that you're feeling better, El Dee. I'll be praying for your friend's wife. My dad's older brother got married for the 1st time at 59 years old. Unfortunately, he got colon cancer and didn't make it to their fifth wedding anniversary.

Thanks so much TT! Last year was hell, let me tell ya. I was so scared. She just laid in her bed day after day with head pain, stomach pain, dizzy and woozy, very tired. Hot then cold, she lost a ton of weight. I had her to doctors, then specialists, counselling. No one knows for sure what it was, but each time she gets to not feeling well, we both get very nervous.

To catch up we started her with tutoring for a few hours a couple of times per week, when she still couldn't handle a full day back at school. Then she progressed to school plus tutoring, and also made up work during study halls and after school 3 days per week. It was hell and God willing, we never go there again. I was one worried, stressed out Mom.

At the time I didn't have medical insurance for her so was trying to get by on paying out of pocket for doctors visits and school excuses. We may have missed the opportunity to find out for sure what it was then. Finally took her to the hospital where they did a few tests, all of which were negative. They didn't feel they needed to do any invasive testing because of her being so young. (16 at that time) I really feel that they were thinking "this kid doesn't want to go to school". When her stomach started acting up last SUMMER, it squashed that theory and they sent her to a specialist who again did some tests, but nothing too invasive (scope) then pushed us toward counselling. Counselor and Psych said there's nothing wrong with her mentally, it has to be medical.

I swear they make me nuts! .......Thanks for letting me vent!!!

Thanks Lilac!! You've got that right, kids can be so different. Same DNA but totally different. My oldest was sickly as a child, but is much better as she's gotten older. My middle child (the one whos sick now) was also very sickly when little but mostly with ear/throat infections. Stomach came into play pretty much when puberty did. My youngest almost never gets sick, thank God!!

Well I did pretty good. My microwave burnt down so I had to go buy another one. I couldn't get a huge one because it wouldn't fit. I didn't need a tiny one either but I still ended up doing cabinet work because this one was an in. too tall. The good part was they had a 25% off sale and the sales lady said there was a 10% off coupon that she cut out of the paper so I ended up getting a pretty good deal.

Just went 15 rounds with Direct TV....A bill that was $88 grew too $98 due too their actions...I was set the hell up...I lost $10 for canning direct pay and they graciously offered the HD free should I not cancel. That would have been $88...for 12 months....agreed on 12/17/12...bill this month...$98....Ohhhhhhh Hell No !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has been made very clear tonight that next month best be charged at $88...Like it's even worth half that...You all know dang well they know exactly what they're doing...Lucky I can't get my hands on them...

Thanks for the support for my friends wife...We're working on a plan that cannot be discussed here...There is no way we'll give up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tracy I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's health...Glad it's better and hope she gets too feeling well soon with this bug...Much of my research lately has been diet related...Seems these days companies can use whatever chemical or method they choose getting food too market...Aspartame anyone ????? May not hurt taking a look at what she uses for fuel...I've strong suspicions diet has led my friend's wife too where she stands today...and hey I'm a WitchDoktor so my opinion should carry some dang weight....K ??? Really I feel better post Diet Coke...My hope would be she never has another issue....

I'm here to tell you that head cold was for freekin real...Laying in bed was OUT!!!!!!!!!!!! I was finally able to toss and turn a bit last night...This morning I paid for that as chest congestion had arrived...I feel much better now though....
