It appears to be big tobaccos' version of an e-cig but with the option to "rent" or "buy" it they are obviously planning to price it through the roof as we expected they would.

They are fighting the e-cig but make one of their own... very interesting!

Ah, but it still delivers ALLLL the chemicals an analog does, right? And, considering that, in Canada at least, a REGULAR pack of cigarettes cost 11.00, how much do you figure the SPECIAL cigarettes that THIS device needs cost? 50.00 a pack perhaps?

That is correct... A little nicer for the surrounding parties, but still just as lethal as a standard analog. But just think, you have the added benefit of being the talk of the party as the dork with a ginormous rectal thermometer thingy hanging out of your mouth

I can tell you that the price of regular cigarettes out here is about 5-6 per pack, and the Eclipse that I have been smoking for the last 5 years ("special" cigarettes) are $8 per pack, so about a 35%+ markup comes with this great deal of killing yourself while only partially killing those around you!

Maybe they are pricing it at a premium so that people will be put off and continue purchasing regular smokes.

that is not quit a e-cig though.. 90% less smoke.. you would be better off getting one of the butane heating chamber devises that do the same thing but you do not need the special cigs..

LOL even harder at the thought of renting/purchasing a high dollar device from a big tobacco company and having to pay top dollar for special cigarettes to use with it.

Dreaming up scams/schemes to rip off those that are addicted to your product is the lowest of lows that any company can resort to...

Considering this is a device from 2007, PM has had 3 more years to develop this baby into something better. Although until the ban is complete, for now, it has been moved into a lateral market.
