This is why we have to be thorough when mixing with high nic bases

Simple don't break the law...case and point..

Well, I must disagree with you. SOME "laws" are simply insane, and begging to be broken. Especially, when it comes to vaping.

See the new European TPD, for example: A directive for new legislation that was supposed to fight tobacco, but instead will actually help tobacco sales, by getting rid of competition.

When a "law" is made NOT for the best interest of PEOPLE, with health concerns in mind, but is made instead for the best interest of lobbies and big corporations, with economic interests in mind, DESPITE what will happen to the health of real people out there, I believe PEOPLE have the right to challenge such laws.

Incidents with DIY are not even our main concern, I believe. We have seen people here (decent folk, family mothers and fathers) who openly admitted to resort to a black market, if need arises. Who will control it? Is the shady guy selling "bath-tub" e-juice in the night-club going to be accountable for the lack of quality control, if someone gets really ill from his "product"?

When the law-abiding (decent folk, honest folk, the pillars of a stable and peaceful society) start challenging a law, then maybe it's time to change that law... IMHO.

I have to agree with you on this point when it comes to the TPD in the EU. That is a "directive" that needs to be challenged and relentlessly.

Absolutely.
I live in Europe too, and my life will also be covered by that EU "regulation" made by mercenary bureaucrats to serve the interests of Big Industry and Big Money, instead of serving the interests of the people.

It will be a sad day indeed when people - decent people, citizens, workers, taxpayers, family folk - will have to resort to the black market in order to live healthier lives. But that is precisely what we will do. And I will be one of them.

my first 500ml were 48, but I just didn't see the point in not getting 100
Unnecessary. I vape at 3mg, and might go back to 0mg.

100 mg is easy because of base ten. NOT because it factors nicely. LOL. Only because God gave us ten fingers.

Well said. We have the same issues here in the USA. Nothing worst then self serving politicians being driven by big business.

I wonder why some people fail to grasp the concept that their personal experience is not necessarily the norm...

That's a double-headed coin you're tossing there.

The thread title makes an assertion that is plain wrong imho. That's why people are complaining.

There may be some issues with semantics here. He may write good English, but that doesn't make him as good at it as a native speaker.

Indeed - but the thread title is clearly expressed. Are you suggesting that it is unintentionally provocative?

I don't think he was trying to be provocative or start hysteria. I just think his choice of wording could have been chosen more carefully. Let's cut the guy some slack.

That plus the no nic Belgan restrictions which put unqualified people into the position of mixing without adequate understanding of the reasons why nic base is prohibited in the first place.

Nah, it's someone who doesn't understand there was no real danger (so his friend got a little Velvet Hammer from too much nicotine) and fails to put the blame on his friend's bad math and not paying attention.

"This is why high nic concentration bases are a bad idea", because my friend had a relatively low nicotine concentration and didn't know how to mix it so he vaped a somewhat high concentration and got a headache.
Not really a bad idea.

Who says I'm not a native speaker? I currently live in Belgium. That doesn't make me Belgian :) I'm one of these people who settle down somewhere, get bored after a few years, and then move to another country.

Look guys, sorry for the thread's title. I didn't mean to be provocative. My mind was thinking "buying high concentration nic bases is a bad idea" and my hands wrote something rather more ambiguous - or so it seems, as I still don't see what's so inflammatory about it. But apparently it means more to many of you than I read in it.

So, sorry m'kay? Can we be pals again? ;)

Of course - no problem. :) But you'll find that a lot of people here (myself included) think that "buying high concentration nic bases is a bad idea" is simply wrong. It's like any other product eg household bleach, ant killer, drain cleaner - you have to use it as intended (and don't leave it around where the uninformed can get hold of it).

Sorry for the assumption. And where you live is definitely a multi-lingual city. LOL.

Yes, a lesson in chemistry. Just so long as he didn't have to lay flat on his back in bed with all four limbs making full contact with the mattress, and eyes focused on the ceiling for two hours waiting for it to pass.

Most DIY'ers I've read use all the way up to 100 mg nicotine. You have to pay particular attention to EXACTLY what you're doing. One little slip up could mean a trip to the hospital with nicotine overdose. This means wearing thick rubber gloves when handling the high dose nicotine because even the smallest drop on your skin can cause a reaction. So really what "was" going on there was your friend needed to pay may attention, be more alert and learn how to mix before going head first into something he didn't seem to know anything about...

Lesson learned.

Unless the possession in itself was illegal. That brings it to a whole new level. Not everyone has motion-sickness pills available or would think of using them for such a situation.

It's cool. But you should at least realize that your post hit a very hot button.

With the crescendo of efforts to restrict vaping (between the FDA and State and local governments) my worst fear is that they will decide that "concentrated nic liquid is not safe for people to use, so we should prohibit it's sale". And that they will pick some number, like "anything over 12 mg is too high". This fear is not mine alone, it is shared by a lot of people here. I stay off the butts much more readily at 32mg, so something in at least the 50's or 60's would be a requirement

While you probably didn't intend it, the tone of your post (and its title) are an exact echo of the "nanny-state declarations" we are dreading (and don't kid yourself, your post is likely to be quoted by some as "evidence" supporting the decision - this is why one poster suggested the thread should be deleted).

Look at your first conclusion:
The first lesson is: be safe and don't buy high concentration nic base. If you mess up, you won't hurt yourself.

It implies that buying high-nic base is NOT safe, and that if you mess up with high-nic you will hurt yourself. This is a statement that many would disagree with vehemently.
