Time to Stop 'Lurking' - Start Vaping

Dear Group:

You folks are fantabulous! Unlike typical former smokers you are friendly, cordial and nice. Heard of e-cigs from a gal on the radio who has been raving about them for 3 weeks. Found you by luck on Google (got to watch the hyphens).

Been RYO for past yr but the time has FINALLY come for me to "give it up" after more years than I care to think about. Yes I am a CONVERT - just waiting for my 'wish list' from one of your listed suppliers.

In my State they cannot tax enough, yet they must have enough smokers to keep the Bond issue afloat (they opted for the 'lump sum' MSA payment) plus they want to go "Smoke Free".

I will endeavor to be a good member, but if I should stray and need any kind of disciplining I guess ONE of you knows how to do THAT. Also, it is nice that there is a women of the cloth, a Habit-wearing/cigar-vaping Nun in the group (on vacation) she may even have a ruler hidden up her sleeve.

I guess it was about 100 years ago that RJ Reynolds invented (?) the mass production of cigarettes. Don't think BIG GOVERNMENT was in his face back then. Nor was the FDA, ATF, EPA, etc, etc. I wish e-cigs were invented a long time ago.

Welcome aboard! You will find great people here, meet new friends, share your frustrations and vent, help others yourself, and have a little fun doing it! I'm sure glad I found this place because it's such a support also for stopping smoking!

Welcome.

You'll find that not all of us see ourselves as "former" smokers. Some still smoke tobacco (although at a reduced level). Others no longer smoke tobacco, but still see themselves as "smokers" with a new "brand."

Having said that, I do consider myself to be a former smoker, but I say that with no sense of superiority. I am humbled by my addiction, and I know that the only thing that keeps me from resuming my 2+ pack a day habit is e-cigs. Take my e-cigs from me, and I'll be right back where I was. Nope, I don't feel even a teeny, tiny bit superior.

In any event, I know you'll find a wealth of information and support here. Without this forum, I seriously doubt my e-smoking venture would have been nearly as successful or enjoyable.
