So first off, I'm new here. I've been vaping over a year now. I use a Delta 2 (rba Deck) with an ipv4. I recently started using Titanium Wire and ordered some from someone on Etsy. It's grade 1 pure titanium wire, or at least advertised as such. It came in a roll with no label and instead of being a dark smooth color it's light gray, dull looking, and rough to the touch. Is this normal? The wire I used before was given to me by a fellow vaper and it looked and felt closer to Kanthal. There's no flaking or roughness when I've tried to scratch it or clean it with anything, but the look bothers me.

It may be titanium but it doesn't sound like it. The only way to truly be sure is to build a coil and check it. You also didn't buy it from a B&M or reputable online vendor so... buyer beware. Good luck and please post your results.

I used it and wrapped a .3 ohm coil. It responds the same way as the good stuff. When I pulsed it the layer came off and it looked as it should. It's almost like it's been pre heated

It sounds as if you may have some titanium oxide on your wire, it's something to avoid, and definitely not something to inhale.

Here's a thread with a lot more info....Titanium wire, vaping and safety | E-Cigarette Forum
I read through it but because I'm new so I can't post or comment on the thread. I'm curious as to the fact that a lot of people have been posting to vape between 300 and 350 degrees. My comfort zone is around 450 to 490...
